I use to stop at the Libby's factory store in Sheveport, LA when I was passing through. So I have some of the same dishes. Loved it!

I just died and went to heaven! Brings back memories of my grandfather taking me to the corner candy store and sitting on the spinning stools waiting for my ice cream sundae or a vanilla egg cream. I love dishes and no one uses these type anymore - everything is paper plates and bowels. So lovely. I adore those libby ice cream bowls. I've recently purchased a set of their pedestal ice tea glasses. Makes every drink elegant!

Lol who said we aren't entitled to an naughty drawer. :) I love the old fashion icecream dishes. They remind me of when I was younger I loved going the conner drug store and climbing up to soda foundation counter located within. We would sit there sipping on icecream floats. It is definitely my kind of drawer. Thank you for jogging my memory to a wonderful time. It is much appreciated. :)

Pam we had a market called Sages when I was a kid that had a soda fountain. Our family was definitely on a budget and didn't go often, but when we did it was a treat. My boys and Ken eat sweets infrequently, but when they do, we do it up with a cherry on top. Shelby

I can remember going to A & W on Friday nights to get a root beer float. The waitresses wore roller skates and they would come out to the car to take your order. Then bring a tray that hooked to your window. Every once in awhile, they would drop a tray and the root beer would go everywhere. Kat you're right, young people today are really missing out. Shelby
TheQueensCabinet I agree. Mainly the reason I have held on were because they were rare cherish memories. The simpler time of live. :)

Patti I had a similar set up in my pantry at our old home. When the boys were little, they enjoyed the drawer when they had friends over. Now that they are grown, they don't eat too many sweets, but I am holding out hope for grand babies some day.

Alas.... my daughter borrowed and never returned my set of baby blue clear glass ice cream dishes. I am on the lookout for something to replace them. Love this awesome space.

Think I'll ask for that for Valentines 😁...Things were so much simpler when we were young..Not sure if I'm in your generation...We only got Ice Cream back then as a treat!! Ahh! :'( little boys .My first job was the old DQ yep I was a dilly dipper.Made a whole $1.50 a hr.Used my cash to rechrome a 1950 Harley Davidson Electra glide and painted it butterscotch and cream.Saw that bike for sale. not long ago for 78 thousand dollars.Now that's a lots dilly bars.They would never know that bike was painted the color of a dilly bar. :-)Woman you are amazing or you have way to much time on your hands.Nah! you are amazing.:-)My kids to this day come home and what one of those old fashioned chocolate or strawberry soda.I use the Schweppes club soda so its fizzy remember that.Yum! Kat we must be book ends, dilly bars were the best! I ate them when pregnant for my oldest and then he worked there in highschool. Who would have ever thought your hard earned money and effort would be worth so much. I wonder if the new owner would let you take it for a spin or at least get a photo on it. That would be so cool.
beautiful dishes! I heard you mention you kept certain things in your pantry just in case...I would love to hear what items you consider staples... both when your boys were at home and now. thanks so much for glimpses into your beautiful home!
Thanks Dawn. I keep a well stocked pantry with basic "building blocks" flour, sugar, rice, beans etc I find that with each item you add, you increase dinner possibilities exponentially. I don't buy too much processed food.

We don't have a drawer like that as a matter of fact we don't have any ice cream either, I suggested we pick some up the other day and I was overruled. I'll have to sneak some next time when she's not looking...lol
Next time you go to the drug store, get a scoop and eat it while shopping. That way you can hide the evidence. Shelby
Wow those r your college students...luv that an xtra stash of soda is kept in the ice cream drawer that by the way shouldn't b naughty unless enuff nice covers it up
Denise that picture was taken on the Disney Cruise many years ago, we saved a little each month for 3 years and spent 6 weeks in Florida. It was a fantastic experience for our boys, they were the perfect age to enjoy it. It is hard to believe they are all grown up. Ken and I don't eat sweets too often, but when we do it is a fun stash to have.

Mandy you are so funny and cool!!!! I know you are thinking about getting out of Cali. The other night I went to bed when everyone was talking about frugality, but I wanted to mention a book to you. It's called Strategic Relocation, your library might have it. It takes into account all kinds of factors when looking to relocate. With population growth, global warming, weather changes, diminishing natural resources like water, the 10 % reduction in food production with every degree rise in global temperature, etc, this book is an interesting read. I will look and see if I can find it for my Kindle, we have been looking for a long time. We factor things in like property tax, state tax, and sales, cost of living etc. We will be buying straight out not payments, I am too old to do that over again lol! Montana is at the top of our list be we are open to other places, we have studied more than a few states. tho we live in LA county we are in the foothills and don't have an issue moving to a place were your couch has the best party on the block that night, we are not big on night life, we do go out once in a while but don't need a big city to keep us happy.

TheQueensCabinet give them time!! Lol My kids are 23 (daughter) & 19 (son) & Although I want grandbabies, they will have to wait until my kids are in serious relationships & hopefully married!! 😁
Yes our boys are still in college and I just have to be patient. When one of Ken's Deputies gave birth, her mom and his mom babysat for her, every day but Tuesdays. I was so honored that she asked me to watch her baby on Tuesdays. My mom and Ken's mom would come over and fight over who was going to get the baby first. I would go on ebay and buy big lots of clothes that still had the tags on. We would change outfits several times a day, so we could make a "look book" and send the new weekly wardrobe home with baby. My mom even made her a Bam Bam costume at Halloween, I dressed up as Barnie with a full costume head and we went and got photos taken. Hilarius!!! we had people coming up to us in the mall trying to get photos with us. So much to look forward to.
TheQueensCabinet that is so neat! I bet it was a lot of fun! And how awesome for you to make the look books & get the new clothes for the Mom! I am looking forward to watching my grandbabies since I am not able to work! They will be very spoiled!!
