I know it’s an old post… wondering if mixing up materials instead of feeding just one kind at a time might help? I do that with my chipper as the coarser materials act like roughage to keep the tubes clean.😉
Your videos really are just so great. You are funny, relateable, honest and at ease and transparent to your true self in front the of camera. I’m proud to call you my neighbor and friend! Good job girl! This channel is going to blow up! Keep up making the awesome content and in no time you’ll be monetized!
Maybe it would be a good fit! For me... it's just too much raw power 😜 Speaking of power-- are you a weight lifter or something? Or just enjoy working out?
They make another powerhorse model with a 420 cc engine that is much better but it only chips and doesn’t shred. Also, putting wet cardboard into a shredder will only make a mess and clog. I have the 6.5 hp version if your shredder and didn’t care for it either but i really like 420 cc drum chipper.
As a matter of fact, since recording, I actually did dislodge the stuck piece and have since used it twice to chop branches (I gave up on cardboard despite their promo video saying you can use it for that). I've been happy with it in that regard, and I'm glad I hung on to it.
I’ve had mine since 2016. Do not overstuff it and keep your material under 2” ( more like 1.50”) and it will last long time. Don’t store gas in for a long time without stabilizer. Maintain carburetor. I love this machine.
I bet that's what I was doing! Thanks for the great reminders- my husband is great about working out old fuel from tools, I need to remember that! Since recording, I have since used it twice to chop branches (I gave up on cardboard despite their promo video saying you can use it for that) and have been happy with it after all!
Some of these had gotten stepped down. And were not shredding as some of the other. But your ideas were creative but these are actually better with trees and branches. It’s better to burn or use them as weed blocks. It will chip away the 4 inch branches. Especially if the blades are new and still sharp I did own each model and ended up with the longest one for ease of use
What I really wanted was something to shred TONS of cardboard that we get-- I used it to chip peach/apple branches this year and it ended up working very well! I guess for cardboard I'll need to soak and shred it.
Thank you for the idea! I've done that (on accident) a few times lol but since I'm not the one who sharpens the blade, I think my husband would like me to find an alternative lol!
@curly-hairedcountrygal1275 cardboard won't dull the blade. I use my mower in thickets and when there is there occasion limb on the ground. We all seen what a mower does to paper a d cardboard. Cuts through like butter.
I ended up fixing up the chipper and using it again recently on branches- there's some kick-back at times, but it works great for that! It's like that's what it was meant for... ;)
I know this video is about a year old but I must comment. You overstuffed the chipper. The hole that feeds the shredding part of it is smaller than the top opening. The pieces you put in there should be able to fit into it, for instance, the egg cartons should have been ripped in half and put in length wise. The paper wasn't bad, it is more like putting leaves in. Now. You need to do cardboard dry, not wet. It is akin to putting wet paper through a paper shredder, it will jam. The limb you put in the limb chute should have been trimmed of most of the smaller branches. That is why the machine wasn't pulling in down. The branch needs to be able to move around in it to be pulled down. As far as the battery, just charge it and, you can even put it on a trickle charger every once in a while to keep it charged. That way, no manual start needed. Seems like a nice powerful machine and could easily do the job you need, if used properly. Oh also, especially when doing branches or used a stick to push things down into it, wear a pair of leather, not cloth, gloves. I would like to know if you got the machine running again.

Aww thank you for the vote of confidence and kind words, sweet friend!!
Great review. I’ve thought about a wood chipper too. We do a bunch of tree and shrub trimming each year.
Oh nice! If you have a bunch of trees/shrubs to trim it could be a great fit!!
I've been mulling over getting one. We always have a bunch of limbs falling, but I am not sure it will be worth the cost.
Hi, Chuck! You might be better at managing it than me! But yea... not worth it for me.
Girl you make me laugh! Noted on this review! We have thought about getting a wood chipper ...but...maybe not...lol

Great thoughts, thank you!
So, which chipper-shredder you recommend?

Great video you are to 😍cute . Thank you for sharing ❤️
Why thank you, Deborah! I'm blushing! 😊

I think it was a wood chipper not a paper shredder those you can buy for $40

It's not made to shred paper and cardboard, wood and leaves only.
You can use a lawnmower with sharp blade to shred cardboard.

Mix it with branches for heaven sake

Yes a bit expensive but wait till you need parts from northern tools
Ooh that is a good thing to consider! Hadn't thought about the cost of replacement parts.
Northern tool is expensive? Have been looking at one of these

Ahhhh! Thank you! Must've been impatient and overfilling!
Thankfully I was able to get it fixed and did hang on to it. It's a powerful little thing!
Sis replace the nuts and bolts with wing nuts
That would make repairs so much easier!
Nice video, but I hope you had ear protection!
You better believe it! My husband is all about that PPE and has instilled the passion in me lol
