      That's great, I'm only missing the cpu and os. Also, I bought a Dell S2716DG monitor last week, you should check it out; it's good and pretty cheap comparing to other monitors with the same specs like the Asus ones. Good luck with your build!

      SpaceEnder Thanks man I'll take a look at it and good luck with your pc build. That was you that added me on ps?

      SpaceEnder I'm overseas and my ps4 back in the states so it's been awhile since I've been on ps. You can add me on steam once you get your cpu and os. ThERuthless is my steam name. Once my cpu cooler comes in today hopefully I can get back on steam.

    Replace the thermal paste.. That will not cover the IHS. You should make a star shape, or a cross shape with TIM. Best way to do it on these bigger chips.

    I don't get why people are up in arms for not building a ryzen based machine when it's a new release build. (I like ryzen btw)
    They aren't benching these, it's not a budget or comparison build and they generally look the same besides mobos. Like omg it's not the CPU that I can't see!

      You are behind the times dear. I have a GTX 1080 and on demanding games it goes up to 78 degrees C, will see how Vega turns out. I also have a i7 6700k that runs perfectly fine, but will get a Ryzen chip for my next build. I mean, it's better, high quality components, cheaper and can do anything you throw at it perfectly. What more can one wish for

  • @eugkra33
    @eugkra33 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    to me the 7800x paired with the cheapest x299 board actually makes more sense than a 1700x paired with a x370 at the same price. You get better gaming performance with both OCd to the max, and on par productivity.

    • @eugkra33
      @eugkra33 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd like to see proof of that claim not just dumb fanboy-ism. Else just go back to blindly worshiping your CPU god. I have r5 1600 right now and don't regret it. The good thing about still going the 1700x rout is that you can decide to spend $100 less on the motherboard and get a high end B350 or very cheap x370. Cooling will also cost more on the higher TDP Intel. But If I had the money between those 2 platform, I think I'd pick the Intel system. Quad channel memory too.

    • @weasle2904
      @weasle2904 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Why a 1700x? People also mention the more expensive sku's to justify other intel choices even though the 1700 will get you exactly the same performance. Smh. Also a fucked upped platform with 2 less cores and tons of cash grabbing features, limited PCIe lanes purposely to make you spend more money, raid limitations (Physical keys, like wtf), hidden features and disabled slots depending on the CPU, is just kinda a dumb idea. It's a complete mess and I would never support this unacceptable behavior from intel.

    • @eugkra33
      @eugkra33 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      well, the 1700x does OC maybe 100-200mhz higher based on chance. But I agree that the 1700 is the better buy for the money. Is AMD really innocent when it comes to forcing such business practices? The entire Ryzen 5 series are all R7 CPUs with some of the cores soldered off.On some of them a core might be damaged, but on most of them they simply disabled cores to great enough supply for the market. It was speculated at first that it might be possible to trick your BIOS into re-enabling those cores, but it seems to have been done on a physical level from what I hear. It's no different than disabling PCI-e lanes I'd say. The raid thing Intel does is pretty dumb, though. And I think that lack of sales might show that. If you want to protest Intel that's fine with me, but on paper the 7800x still looks like a better buy than the 1700x and 1800x to me. And I believe it still has more PCI-e lanes than the Ryzen CPUs.

    • @eugkra33
      @eugkra33 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. I'm saying that if it's not bad practice to disable cores, why is it bad practice to disable PCI-e lanes?

    • @eugkra33
      @eugkra33 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And like I said already; there are damaged cores in manufacturing, but most of the r5 series has all 8 cores fully functional (if they were not disabled). And this should only increase with time as they perfect the manufacturing process, and they create less and less damaged cores.

      I would stick with Ryzen based on it having better multi-core performance, (generally) cheaper mobos, and it has had time for kinks like mobo bios's and such to have been worked out. The i7 would yield a few more frames because of its per core performance but overall it's just not as good of a value imo.

    • @johntotten4872
      @johntotten4872 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Buy the 7700k if you do high fps gaming, it is hands down the best cpu for gaming. Just read you wanted to edit. While Ryzen is good for multi core is it weaker on single core and for gaming. Here is a review with some benches to compare for yourself to make up your own mind what would work best. The article has lots of pages. www.anandtech.com/show/11550/the-intel-skylakex-review-core-i9-7900x-i7-7820x-and-i7-7800x-tested/10

      Depends, most AIOs (all in one) coolers are simple, just plug them in and it should work. Don't worry about replacing the liquid anytime soon. If you are doing custom cooling, which involves building your own cooling loop with tubes, then you will need to fill your reservoir with liquid.

      Tabbez nah razen might be cheaper but intel will always be better performance wise

      That is not true during the Ryzen 7 presentation that the Ryzen 7 1700X chip outperformed the Core i7 6900k and the 6800k chip in Cinebench r15 and the 1800X outperforms the 6900k in the multi threaded test so if you're a content creator Ryzen is great,same for gaming the Ryzen 7s and Ryzen 5s chips actually outperform most Intel cpus.

      Dragon Ramer Not entirely true.
      Check out tomshardware review on the new Intel chip. The 1800x holds its own with the 10 core intel model. The only reason I can see when the i9 beat the 1800x it was because of the extra cores. That's it. Check it out... 😁

      @corbi6798 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      What the hell? Ryzen Threadripper is also to be believed to beat the Intel Core i9s and is cheaper and I think its $849.

      Ryzen not only performes better but actually costs less that's a fact (not the performance but the price) and if there is a performance gap between Intel cpus and Ryzen cpus it isn't substantial making Ryzen a more better price to performance value cpu than Intel's offerings.

    Nice Build! .... Bought this mainboard together with an black and blue Corsair Power supply and black and blue cablemod set of cable for a modding build... i wanted to use the blue inserts that is used here in the video.. contacted msi to get them but msi support says No! only a few "selected people" got the blue inserts! how sad is that? i am very dissapointed .. in every XXXXX review you see the blue inserts but if you want to get them not possible.. that sucks! if they change the motherboard chip cooler for better looks and modding posibilities than they should offer more colors and accessories and not only for selected people.. if not then better use the money for proper mobo coolers heatsink coolers function over look then.. (soory for bad english).... i should have looked better before i bought th mobo but anyway... very sad MSI....

    Why have gtx 1070s risen in price? Is it because of lazy ethereum miners?

    • @johntotten4872
      @johntotten4872 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, since all the AMD cards have gone so high in price the 1070 while not quite as good as AMD is still very good and cheaper now (Or was before they started buying them up) and does a great job mining.
