Thanks for the video!! I had replaced the cartridge recently and it was behaving badly. I followed your instructions and it is working like new again. I guess it just needed to be recalibrated. Your steps to fix the issue were better than the manufacurers. I can tell you have real world experience. I like the penny tip!! Thanks!!
Very helpful video, thank you. You saved me $40+ as my existing cartridge was not properly calibrated. I also had to adjust my handle. A small tip/trick I figured out because I unfortunately dropped the small bracket holding the crossbar down in the reservoir and had to fish it out: You don’t have to fully remove that bracket and screw. You can unscrew it just enough to rotate the bracket 90deg out of the way, which allows you to move the crossbar Enough to fool with the cartridge.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful, accurate descriptions! I watched the video and gave my husband the directions! Saved us calling a plumber but most importantly we fixed this fast! Thank you so much!
This is exactly what I needed to fix my toilet that wasn't working. Had to try a few times before I got it to calibrate properly. Pausing in between each turn is really key.
thanks for your video. I just replaced 2 cartridges with kits that included the duck bill valves and screens. Hopefully good to go for a couple of years.
Question you are available and don't mind helping. So yesterday I heard a weird clicking sound from the toilet so I figured it was the cartridge which I replaced about 10 years ago. I've threaded the cartridge about 3 threads showing and it's still not stopping and the air intake won't stop sucking aid. Wondering now if the air intake thing was the problem and not the cartidge
Thank you…….replaced two flushmate 504 last year. Plumbers have come and gone $$$$$. Toilets Almost working each time. After two days -Weak flush, and water running🫣. This last time the plumber told me if I had problems again , call him to pull the Flushmate’s and install conventional ball & chain plunger type. So depressing, 👵🏻. $$$$. After watching your video I went through my late husbands tools and followed the steps…..The water stopped running……Now I have to figure out how to adjust the new handle. Thank you again, saved me another $250. 🤞🙏🏼👵🏻Disgusted with myself , spent so much $$$$😶
Awesome video. I'm off site right now. But i have to manually pull the cartridge up about 1/4 inch to get the water to stop running. Besides trying to recalibrate should I try anything else ? Thanks!
My cartridge is stuck and won’t come out. Any idea how to get it loose? It seems to move the whole system when I try to twist it off. My issue is the water keeps running but no signs of leaking. I already changed the duck bill. The rubber under the cap. That didn’t work so I’m tryna change the cartridge those I see no signs of leaking it just won’t come out.
I've been hearing a lot of horror stories about pressure build-ups that are followed by explosions that destroy the vitreous china tanks & hurt people. However, these seem to be older stories. And when I looked up the toilet models that included a pressure assist system, pressure tank includes a Pressure Relief Valve. This seems to be a solution to the problem but I would assume that was included in the old, defective models too. Is the Pressure Relief Valve a reliable solution and what is your insight on these events? Is it because of a bad installation or something on the manufacturer's end that recently got fixed following the recalls? just want to hear your opinion.
My toilet is making a hissing sound like water is escaping, does the cartridge become uncalibrated after a while where it needs calibrating again after being used for a while?
7:45. Have you ever tried to just touch the adjustment up to the arm? Just skip the gap. The only reason I could think for that gap to be there would be like a recoil or something lol.. but I doubt that.
@mrnoe67tiktok then why you complicating things and putting a gap there lol. A penny's gap isn't much, so if it doesent matter then why do it? Is it so people don't adjust it up against it and make it run?.. idk.. I know how illiterate some people are lol
Yes, I do think that is the reason why for the penny gap, the Engineers at Sloan added the penny gap to the instructions. But you have to admit it does make good content to my video, and it keeps viewers watching to see what the penny is for. Thanks for the comment.
@@mrnoe67tiktok I had seen that before, but no one would answer if it was crucial or not. I’m just glad you responded and clarified. You should have drawn it out more with a piece of appear and have them draw the design of the top so they can know where to put it in the top. 😆😆😆 just to fuck with people.
@@DanR-hn2dn That would cost me $180 or more for DIY. Replacing the whole water tank with a different brand would only cost me $80, which I would choose if something else goes south. For now, that "water pond" on the cartridge seems to be ignorable.
I've tried 3 times and mine just keeps weezing air non stop. Tried turning an 1/8 a 1/4 a half. Wait 10 seconds all the way to as far as it goes down and won't stop

They usually take care of business on one flush, which saves water, but they are noisy

try changing the duck bill valve, that is the small rubber valve that I changed out in the video
Thanks so much for the vid! :D

I have one of these in my apartment and when the power goes out the water doesn't work..how do you manually fill it? Thank you in advance!
I have no idea
Great video!
Thanks for the visit
Great tutorial!
Thank you! Cheers!
From where do order the cartridge? Thank you
If your local hardware doesn't have them. then try Amazon or HD supply.
Our system does flush but seems like no pressure at all. Do I need to recalibrate the cartridge?
did you replace the duckbill Valve?
@@mrnoe67tiktok no, I didn't.
Thanks good video
Thank you too
saved myself $250 bucks.
cool
Can you recalibrate a new cartridge?
yes
Mine seems like it’s very tight. Concerned about removing the cartridge as I don’t want to break it. Any ideas?
bigger pliers
Nicely done

Hi thank I have the same toilet where can I find all the parts you use so I can fix my thank you
Home depot, Lowes, Ace hardware, HD supply
Thank you!!
Welcome!
My toilet that uses this system isn't flushing. Do you think the cartridge is at fault?
Yes it can be, I would also check the screen at the water supply line.
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed
aren't you supposed to have the water on without the cartridge to flush any debris?
thanks
My toilet isnt filling up with water when i turn on the valve
I would check supply line screen
@mrnoe67tiktok i removed it and still nothing

What if water keeps coming up from where the duck fill valve? Am I missing something?

Water comes up from the new cartridge. Does it mean something else is wrong?
When mine leaked, I changed out the whole unit.
