First I didn't know that slide attacked and drop kicks gained the attack of your boots, though that makes sense. More importantly I didn't know that about shortcuts. It's nice to know in the future I can only change what needs to be changed instead of everything.
You know what I'd like to see sometime? A "find it, use it" run for Bloodstained rando. Given the sheer amount of equipment you get it would be sheer chaos.
I did not know about that "leave the slots blank" shortcut trick! I was so frustrated every time i had to update my shortcuts when getting new gear on my casual playthroughs
I was a fan of the Lethal Boots with the knives in them for a bit in my casual playthrough, the slightly extra range and damage was nice, and they can also do the funny breakdancing technique- But very good gameplay, winning with toy boots!
You planning on doing a Shards tier list at some point? I'm sure it would be a lot of work, but I would be curious. Esp since I'm on my first playthrough myself and would be curious to see how a more efficient player places some of these. (Like, I fell in love with Riga Storaema, but I imagine in a speedrun context that'd be kinda weak since you need at least rank 3 before it's particularly standout for normal encounters. And, uh, Inferno Cave hurts it)
you say directional shard is one of its greatest innovations which I agree, but being able to use bullet type shards while crouching is amazing and that's always something that bothered me you couldnt do like aria, harmony and circle lacked buttons so I get it for those
Bloodstained RotN is one of my favorite games. I'm a console player though, so I'm stuck with all the jank. So I was sitting on the torlit, playing Bloodstained Randos Hard. Running at about 16 frames per second.Then I saw a new JC vid. He was doing a shoe. So I started a new rando, and the first item I picked up was the Lethal Boots!
Just wondering... does the game have native randomizer settings? Or do we need to download mods for them? I am starting to become interested with them... 😮🙂
Man, when I played the game casually on switch, before it became unbearable to finish for me, my biggest complaint was that bosses took forever to defeat while also chunking you super hard if they ever manage to land a hit. It just made it really frustrating for me.
Regarding the Shoe theme: -Shadow Tracer is just more shoes, seems fine to me -It's a big castle and company is welcome, but if Buer came up I'd say lots of legs fits the shoe theme better than other familiars -I liked the idea of including the Lili transformation, that's smart Unrelated to the theme, was swapping the black belt out for the risk ring deliberate? Or was leaving gebel's glasses equipped just speedrun muscle-memory?
There was a boring section where I tried to show off a glitch, but realized a couple minutes later I didn't have what I needed. So decided to just remove

Try a nightmare run. It's a lot harder at the start and you basically have to damage boost to even get out of the first hallway.
