Not sure if this gets brought up later on in the video since I'm still watching it. But you actually CAN get some of those upgrades with Zangetsu's abilities with some clever thinking. Specifically with Stage 3, Stage 4 and Stage 5 is where it shines in Stage 3 your double jump can't reach the upgrade by traditional means like you tried but if you jump and double jump off the edge of the platform you can clip the bottom of the platform allowing you to get the health upgrade. in Stage 4 it's a similar story, you just jump from a certain angle and it allows you to clip the platform netting you the upgrade Stage 5 is a lot tougher to achieve since you're relying on timing and enemy RNG. You need to double jump at the right time as the dragon shoots a fireball. You can damage boost to get a bit of extra height to clip the platform and get that item too. If you ever do another playthrough of this mode in the future I hope these tips help you out.
Curse of the Moon reignited my love for Classicvanias, leading me to try a bunch of other homage titles (though a few of them are of a certain... adult variety). But even as a title of its own, this game is just loads of fun! And the way Zangetsu just has no chill regardless of your choices is kinda hilarious. Either he ignores them outright, kills them, or lets them join "make yourself useful if you wanna live" style - what a guy!

me playing on a xbox controller: double taps to dash on the whole game, also me after having 100% achivements and decides to play one more, giving a try ultimate mode and just pressed B once while moving: welp i feel kinda dumb
You should try playing solo mode with the other characters. Its a little annoying having to kill your team every time you die. But its worth it in my opinion. Solo alfred is especially fun. If that sounds a little tedious then curse of the moon 2 has a dedicated solo mode for all characters. Including the characters from this game.

Wait for them to run up to you, wait a fraction of a second, then jump over them when they attack. 1:00:14 To be fair, you're playing normal mode, which is kind of piss easy lol The fact that you're able to impatiently run through everything and still not get folded shows that. Try doing your usual impatience schtick on HARD mode.
TL;DR i love bloodstained, worth backing, 10/10 would do it again, but fuck sake, i cant seem to get curse of the moon to recognize my ps4 controller and im having trouble playing it. I cbfd setting up ds4 or whatever it is. I backed Bloodstained at like $350, so worth it, i got so desperate for another castlevania sotn i even emailed konami years ago and, im grossly paraphrasing here but said "Oi, I have money, i will give it to you for more Alucard" their response(also grossly paraphrased) "ah.. whats that? Never heard of it" Annyway, the only thing i wasnt happy about was in their original promo, the art was done in 2d, not pixel art, but still 2d, and it looked phenomenal, imo, i was really disheartened when i realized it was 3d.... however, the product delivered(which is *still* being updated with awesome content) was so good, and was a magnificent spiritual successor. Ill admit, with the way the kickstarter and information and all that was handled after, i wasnt exactly pleasant about it(although, that was more with their pr team not igas team) but, nah, i would do it again, hell, if i knew how much i would have loved it, i would have paid more to have my portrait cemented into this game but ill make do with the credits. Anyway, long story of my love for the main game aside.. i want to come and play this one but im having trouble getting it to recognize my ps4 controller on the pc, every other game recognizes it but not this one. Might check if this and #2 are on the switch. Ritual of the night can stay on my pc, curse of the night on my switch

Its sort of like this game has 3 tiers of death. 1. An ally dies, but you have spare characters 2. The whole squad dies/ or Zangetsu dies alone 3. Actual game over by running out of lives
