    It's surreal watching this, knowing about Nixon's disgrace, and it's sad in a way, he seems genuinely enthusiastic, proud, and thrilled here. I've never seen Nixon look this animated. I mean who wouldn't be, but it's kind of bittersweet.
    Also, I feel like this registration or even mythos Neil Armstrong has garnered over the years as being shy, emotionally closed off, always serious, etc, is false. Most pictures I've seen of him show him grinning ear to ear, and look at him here, dude was positively giddy. I think he just didn't care about fame, he cared about doing a job to the best of his ability and was extremely humble. Hero of mankind.

Nixon and some others took AF1 to a nearby base, from which they took a chopper to get to the carrier. CBS definitely had a direct hook-up to the mixing board that Nixon and Armstong's mics were plugged into. NBC, also broadcasting the event live: th-cam.com/video/DjXskFHQPp0/w-d-xo.html , only had their camera mic to record the ambient, highly distorted sound coming from the PA system. That's why the sound on the CBS version here is much better and clearer. Whenever you're shooting in a mic'd location, always be sure to take the sound from the mixing board! If you absolutely still need ambience (such as for the audience reactions, etc.), record it on the other channel.

      bee zap it’s not about the video or tv. It is about science, astronomy, common sense, and facts. A significant amount of evidence supports NASA landed 12 astronauts on the moon between 1969-1972, including the 842 pounds of moon rocks, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiters images of the landing site, the fact that you can still bounce Earth-based lasers off the retroreflector mirrors placed on the lunar surface and during the Cold War era even the Soviets did not question the moon landing. I’m sure you also believe the Earth is flat and that Lizard people walk the earth. If so then an argument with you is a waste of my time.

The speed of the rocket is so fast that it's impossible not to substain physical injury. Science proved what happens to the human body when reaching G-forces. This video seems suspect because they're normal after a supposed landing from space which requires them to accelerate so fast that they'd inevitably feel the G force(s). This video was probably made up to persuade the exact naive people like you that we have actually traveled to the moon🤭... keep smoking those 850 pounds of moonrocks NASA gives you... No one on this Earth could test if those moonrocks are %100 moonrocks because that would require a trip to the moon, (which isn't as easy as going to your local post office). A King's subjects only know what thier King allows them to learn. POWER is an ILLUSION.

      In the 16mm Ektachrome footage of the same event, you can see the astronauts entered the isolation unit zipped up in hazmat suits, and the site was decontaminated with disinfectants before Nixon came in: th-cam.com/video/DjXskFHQPp0/w-d-xo.html
      In that film, you first see Nixon and his entourage inspecting the place beforehand while the astronauts were still in the water. Then you'll see the astronauts being transferred into the isolation unit in hazmat suits while Nixon and most other people are outside, and a disinfectant agent going over the site. Only *THEN* starts the part that was broadcast on TV, with Nixon and everybody walking in to greet the astronauts.

    The Chaplain signals that they are about to pray. The astronauts bow their heads. The chaplain begins his prayers and says "...This magnificent event illustrates what man can accomplish when purpose is firm and intent corporate. A man on the moon was promised in this decade and though some were unconvinced; the reality is here today, in the persons of astronauts Armstrong, Aldrin & Collins..." (07:13-07:22). Watch Michael Collins' reaction. He breaks from prayer, looks up, looks uneasy and then lowers his head. He clearly is not in prayer and ironically is the one to voice the 'Amen' for the crew.

    we are not meant to travel in space...if you in any way have association with christianity the Bible tells us to live as simply as possible...just like the first christians...in this modern age the Amish are a good example of christian communal living...simply and close to nature...Jesus once told a rich young man to go home, sell all he has, give the proceeds to the poor, and then come to follow Him...but the rich young men went away sad because he had many belongings which he could not part with. But the final word goes to Eisenhower, who once vetoed Apollo. He reminded Americans that "every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed"...the 'space race' is idle lunacy...Houston, who is going to clean up the tons of spacejunk you (and Russia, China, and India) left behind on our Sister Moon...and is also circling our Mother Earth???

      I'm Christian, and I don't believe that the Bible forbids scientific ventures and expeditions. Especially when they give the free world a morale boost, and excite the imaginations of people. The space program pays the salaries of a lot of hardworking people. And it's given us tech advancements that have made international humanitarianism easier.

    • @BananaZen7
      @BananaZen7 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dobbysboggart6883We were also given a special and unique responsibility: “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:28). Adam was placed in Eden “to work it and keep it” (Genesis 2:15). Some Christians assume that “subduing” and having “dominion” implies that earth was created only for human use and exploitation. But this does not match with the testimony of Scripture.
      Carelessly destroying nature by polluting the water and air, destroying wildlife and animal habitats, or wastefully using resources however we please is not in keeping with God’s character or the dominion mandate that God gave to mankind. It does not reflect his care for the lovely flower or the tiny sparrow, nor does it acknowledge the joy that he takes in what he has made. It also does not reflect his original purpose for us: to “work” and “keep” creation. These are the same words used to describe the role of the priests in the Temple (Numbers 3:7-8). This implies that through our care for creation we are to direct worship back to the Creator, just as those in the Temple cared for it to bring people to worship.
      Scripture also talks about being a good steward, not one who wastefully uses his master’s resources. We’re to reflect the heart and purpose of the Master (Luke 12:43, 16:1-2; 1 Corinthians 4:1) in how we use the resources he has entrusted to us. Our treatment of God’s creation should reflect his care for his creatures and his joy over his creation.
