Ocean literacy for all

Ocean School is a free, innovative ocean education resource, developed by the Ocean Frontier Institute and the National Film Board of Canada. As educators, we've always been fascinated with the potential of multimedia storytelling to make environmental education more engaging and accessible for everyone. Ocean School's mission is to help understand our influence on the ocean and the ocean’s influence on us. We aim to empower the next generation of changemakers with knowledge, tools, and inspiration so that they can take action for the ocean. In our presentation, we will share a case study of our ""Harvest"" collection, created in collaboration with the Heiltsuk First Nation in Bella Bella, B.C. The audience will have a thoroughly engaging experience, as they get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of our educational framework and storytelling approach. The case study presentation will be supported with a two-minute trailer, a 360-degree video, and interactive multimedia activities that takes the audience on a journey as they explore the overarching question: How can we take a little and leave a lot for nature?
