GallBladder Stone (Cholelithiasis)
Your gallbladder is a pear-shaped organ under your liver. It stores bile, a fluid made by your liver to digest fat. As your stomach and intestines digest food, your gallbladder releases bile through a tube called the common bile duct. The duct connects your gallbladder and liver to your small intestine. Your gallbladder is most likely to give you trouble if something blocks the flow of bile through the bile ducts. That is usually a gallstone. Gallstones form when substances in bile harden. Gallstone attacks usually happen after you eat. Signs of a gallstone attack may include nausea, vomiting, or pain in the abdomen, back, or just under the right arm. In most cases the levels of cholesterol in bile become too high and the excess cholesterol forms into stones.

Thank you so much. I have gallstones and was recommended surgery. With your explanation. I have hope that there is really no need for surgery if I just avoid foods that would trigger a gallstone attack. Since having been diagnosed last year and undergoing a failed ERCP (Doctor explained they couldn’t find the stone in the bile duct with the camera, which is strange, maybe there really is no stone, I don’t know how it could happen) I have not experienced any pain since. Until this morning. I may have been careless and started eating too much cookies and some fat from liempo. I also had bread with fried egg and mayo for breakfast and about an hour or so later I started feeling the symptoms again. I took Tagamet which has always helped me when I feel this discomfort. Now I am feeling a lot better after going to the bathroom (no. 2).
I will defintely watch out for what I eat now. It’s not worth the discomfort.

Thank you Dr Sy. I found you looking for infomation of Gall Stone surgery. Taga Toronto Ontario Canada kami. My bro-in-law was diagnosed with gall stones last week , and he probably will have surgery as his doctor is scheduling it now.
