I'm about to buy one like Oberon 9 + Oberon vokal and Oberon 1, do you think I'll have a problem using a Denon 2700h? Or do you think I could take advantage of an external 5 channel amplifier?
If you want their full potential, you should feed each speaker 150 watts. You'll notice a tromendous difference in bass and won't need å subwoofer for music then. It is up to you of course. They aren't very hard to drive, and will perform well at lower watts as well.
@@Joldrath interesting. Look forward to it. I have compared Oberon 7 to Opticon 6mk2. My impression was that Opticon are more controlled, nuanced and detailed. Oberon though are perhaps a bit more "fun" although a little more boomy and uncontrolled. If Opticon was just slightly more expensive I would choose it but I'm unsure if I would appreciate as much as the price difference. In the long run I probably would though but would honestly be happy with both 🙏🤗
@@vgmackan the reason I compared the three was that they all cost aprox the same. Of all three I found Oberon 9 the most fun. Although not as detailed as the other two
@@Joldrath I see. I believe I probably would have come to the same conclusion as you. Oberon 7 (and 9 probably even more so) are fun and engaging. With that said I might end up buying a used Dali Mentor 6 (2007-2015). Haven't heard it so it is a bit of a gamble but have done significant research and I think it is likely it can be better then both Oberon and Opticon. Will decide next week.
@@bradleyaustin2369 the reason I got rid of the concept 10s was that they were harmful to my hearing. They were just sonic bright. If you take Klipsch rp280f which are very bright and multiply that brightness by 3, you sort of have an idea of where the concept 10 is at. So I couldn't play them loud. The oberon 9 is a completely a different beast, as they sound very warm without the brightness. They can be played at insane levels and they don't threaten my hearing. (It is the high frequencies which are most cause of hearing loss) so yeah, I love them to bits. I got a review out, you should check that out.
Ah ok. See it now. Yeah that should be more than enough to run the Dali speakers. Your amp has an output of 200 watts, the Dali Oberon 9 is 150 watts. Enjoy
