  • Hi all, just a few updates and questions, while watching this epic leopard we found in KHWAI,
Thank you for all your support this past year,
I think our next video, maybe us looking at a 4x4 or Namibia, it depends on what happens first.
looking forward to lots more adventures next year.

A good pair of Binoculars, and there are many options I use a pair of beat-up Nikons, and the dream is to get a pair of Zeiss as the quality and sharpness are insane. However there are some even cheaper options, but a pair of binoculars are a must.

Another essential is a good multi-tool knife, For me, it is the Leatherman skeletool
but the most useful is probably the Leatherman Wave. Just remember not to pack it in your hand luggage!!!

A camera: your phone is good, but if you have an amazing sighting, you will regret not having a good camera, you don’t need an expensive camera but you do want something with a minimum of a 300mm zoom lens. I use a Canon DSLR, you may think a DSLR is complicated, but if you not a tech person just put it on auto and you will be good.
Canon EOS Rebel with lenses amzn.to/3Y7a3Gx

    A rechargeable spotlight :
    Mag-Lite (the expensive option) amzn.to/4ha56p9

A headlamp is also very useful when cooking or working around camp at night, especially when you eating dinner and you need to be handsfree, having a headlamp with a red light option is also great as it doesn’t disturb others or animals. amzn.to/404rs5v
I have really enjoyed having a trail camera to set up in camp to see the animals that pass through camp, amzn.to/4f93ha6

My vehicle suggestion is one that doesn’t break down in Deception Valley 😝
Looking forward to your Namibia Videos and the UK!

Been missing your content. Will be watching. Do you want to upgrade the car for parts of the car. I am bias but a Troopy is awesome especially for those rare times you need inside living.
We are also doing 3rd, Kwai, Savuti, Chobe, etc
Would love to DM you closer to the time for tips.

Favorite is the birdcorus in the morning and lioncall in the evening sitting at the campfire.
Excited about you undertaking all those trips, how do you do that. Must have a great job out there.
Excited myself about 40 days solo-overlanding Zambia coming july-august
Thanks for your videos. I really enjoy them because they are simple and honest.
    Have a good 2025

There is nothing better than the early morning birds , the spur fowl calling, can’t wait to get out into the bush again. I wish we had big jobs, but we don’t, we both work online which is the biggest plus and actually one of the reasons we can travel (flexibility) and then just try to keep our costs down by keeping it simple, both in life and safari. We both looking forward to the trips ahead, and hopefully getting a new 4x4 maybe something with an air conditioner this time….😂😂 your Zambia trip sounds awesome, once we get a bit of a better 4x4 we really want to visit Zambia too, which areas will you be going?

Thanks for your response. Beautifull to have Jobs like that.
Will start first in Kruger for a week then fly in Kasane get the equiped vehicle (bushlore) and then go to outskirts of lower zambezi np (mvuu lodge campsite) and through lznp direction Petauke. From there dirtroad eventually to South Luangwa (south side and Mfuwe), then North Luangwa (9 days exclusive campsites there). Then back to Kafue few days and then Kasane.
2026 planning for Bots again. Khwai, Savuti, Moremi and then to ckgr(sunday, piper, passarge and motopi). Want to exit at Tau gate and back to Maun via Sehitwa. What is your thought on that route from Motopi back to Maun via Tau gate?

Can't beat a landcruiser. I have a LC series 70 4.2 D 2019 purchased secondhand from Bushlore fully equipped with low mileage. Reliable but slow !

Love the 70 series, would love a double cab, but the older older models that are more in our budget are hard to find. Especially here In Botswana they get snapped up pretty quickly

@@exploringbotswana I can appreciate that. Mine is the single cab with alucab pop up tent and plenty of storage. Didn't come cheap but a lot cheaper than a new one with all the bells and whistles. 🙂
