Well said. The only thing the Tour has over the Giro and Vuelta is the quality of field, teams always send their A teams to France because of the prestige, but for me the Giro and Vuelta produce more exciting racing overall
@@Lapsontheboy So do you think the spectators should be allowed to stand practically in front of the cyclists? Which one is better: give the cyclists more space to climb up or less space? From my own personal observation the case appears to be better with more space for the cyclists.
Castrillo won this stage with his neck as much as his legs & lungs. Cracking ride, but the constant checking around at Vlasov was driving me up the wall!
I don't think there's a single XC course with such a sustained and steep climb. A a few dozen yards of steeps in XC can be punched through. If nothing else, you have much easier gearing in XC. Compare that to several kilometers of insanely steep roads on a 11-34 cassette with a 40t small chainring that the pros run. That after over a couple of weeks of hard racing already in the legs. Grand tours are grand tours for a reason.
What a stage. The Stage design at this years Vuelta should be the future for Tour and Giro. 70% of the Tour is boring compared to this great Vuelta Stage design. Mountain, mountain, mountain yesss
Can’t help but think these steep climb stages are made to absolutely break the riders for the entertainment of the fans at the expense of destroying the riders. Unbelievable. If they can get back on the bike for tomorrow and perform then these guys deserve a medal regardless of the end GC result. Fantastic race and stage though 😂
Lucky for them rest day tomorrow, but stage 16 is another monster stage though with two cat 1 and 1 HC climbs. Not as steep as today climb, but a much longer stage.

There was a lot of expectation for the stage but very little excitement. Great victory for the Spaniard Castrillo.
