  • The Spider’s Web: Britain's Second Empire, is shows how Britain transformed from a colonial power into a global financial power. At the demise of empire, City of London financial interests created a web of offshore secrecy jurisdictions that captured wealth from across the globe and hid it behind obscure financial structures in a web of offshore islands. Today, up to half of global offshore wealth may be hidden in British offshore jurisdictions and Britain and its offshore jurisdictions are the largest global players in the world of international finance. How did this come about, and what impact does it have on the world today?

From someone who made the move from Britain to Canada 35 years ago I can tell you that my life changed dramatically both financially and health wise since leaving that drab wet shithole called Scotland with its 80 / 20 wealth disparagey between those with, and those who never will have anything. Now I realize the reasons behind that.

Your average Brit knows - and cares - far more about _Love Island_ and Rishi's seatbelt than about this, and then blames the hardworking little person just trying to get through life for the country falling apart. From Starmer to Farage and every shade in between none of the monied political class will change anything. Matt Kennard has written about the how deep the influence of coorporations extends into our institutions.

When the drugs and money laundering were revealed she never talked about the bank since; she was gutted because that bank was her life. The square mile of London, known as the city of London was never conquered by the Normans. It was a walled fortress with access to the sea, and as such the bankers could escape the power of the Norman kings. Concerned that the bankers would pose a threat from their money changing and money manipulation activities, the Norman kings introduced a national currency called Talley sticks which kept the city of London bankers at bay, for almost 700 years. But in 1700, the city of London finally got control of the national finances by establishing the private "Bank of England" which loaned all the kings money into existence as debt.......driving a rapid trade and colonization expansion of the British empire to feed the ever expanding pool of interest accruing debt based money pouring out of the private pound issuing banks loaning out credit. The next disaster to engulf the world was when the private central bank, the "Federal reserve" was established in the USA which gave the bankers complete control of the USA and by default, the world. These tax havens, these dodgy financial shelters are just one small aspect of the many crimes that banksters do on a daily basis.

The latter group are in every country and hide behind the nationality of that country. Eg, It is why people cannot figure who is doing what in Ukraine today which makes it easy to run a false narrative and blame Russia. The "American" dollar is really the "JU-S" dollar.

The flow of those funds are quite complex. It has been been building up for the last 60 years now. It will be quite challenging to de-stabilize this movement. In addition to the 5 points suggested, we need a mirror Disney type movie to explain this approach in a more accessible manner to a wider mass audience, i.e. Pirates of the Caribbean looking for treasure... in the real world.

Unknowingly, my country gained independence from Britain in September 1964. So, you are from Malta? Interesting that a minority of the electorate voted in favor of the Constitutional proposal of 1964 which was used as the basis for declaring independence. Yes, a majority of those who actually voted, 54%, supported the proposal, but the party of Mabel Strickland, a staunch anti Independence campaigner, boycotted the vote. Seems that, even back in those days, political machinations with self interests, were to the fore. Would be interesting if a similar expose of Malta was undertaken to understand more of the current day dealings of more recent politicos, as seen from that recent event against the local journalist. Good documentary, if a bit sensational, Most of the British Empire was gained by treaty rather than conquest, and for commerce & trade rather than occupation hence this financial apparatus was always there.
However, if you find this shocking, have a look at France’c control of the Central African France. Used by Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon, these countrys have no control over interest rates or financial policy and it means France can control the price they pay (or don’t pay) for minerals and commodities from Africa.

The British Nation blindly trusts their leaders (not unique but in an age of information, you would expect people to ask fundamental questions) - The leaders serve Corporation's and the rich elite who seek to change legislation for the benefit of themselves by taking Power away from others who can intervene. Take Brexit as an example, the rich want to remove minimum working hours, workers rights, tax regulations so these can be influenced by lobbies whose clients are Corporations and Individual wealthy Businessmen which includes owners of land from British history. Every intelligent person who follows politics knew, Brexit would harm people but the people's naivety and, cunningness of the 'elite' convinced them that Brexit is Panacea to society s financial problems - Today: they pay more for energy (and no, Ukraine may have made things worse but not fundamental cause), price of fule is higher, food prices are higher, NHS investment has gone up and politically, UK is weaker globally with not a single significant economic trade deal.
The 'elite' of this nation run it in Criminal ways but, project the World a second face.

If all elections are faked and fraudulent as I believe they are (Sadiq Khan, Not Joe Biden), then it's unlikely the brexit result was how it's been reported. A 48/52 split is designed to continue the feud between the Leavers and Remainers forever. And Boris Johnson was not a Leave advocate, he was just waiting to see the best option for himself OR most likely waiting to be told what to do. So how people elected him to be PM is flabberghasting although I suspect they actually didn't.😮

Leaving him with roughly £1,283.89 to raise 6 kids and send resources and money back to his family in jamaica... he was a 'chippy' aka carpenter and helped rebuild post war britain including scotland yard, newham town hall and other buildingings in london... he used to tell me how much more valuable money was back then compared to 2010's now I understand exactly what he meant...
