"After 'The Forest Mourners', I immediately began writing the next release. This song, along with "The Tempest Entranced", actually mark the direction 'Firmament' was originally taking. It would have been quite a different album, following along the more folky line of 'The Forest Mourners'. The song was written and recorded in 2008-09, but the vocals I have only written and recorded for this release."
