Replayed Chrono Trigger a month ago after getting a SNES mini and can safely say these two games along with FF6 are my favorite JRPGs. I usually go with some nice pixel art but fell in love with this oil painting of the End of Time. Hope you guys enjoy :)
I just honestly wonder if you've ever played Terranigma for the SNES though. The story, the pixel art, and the soundtrack is just beyond comparison in my opinion. I really enjoy your mixes which is why I'm desperately hoping you'll take my advice and check the game out - and maybe be the first awesome person to make an Terranigma and Chill Mix on youtube.
So cool man! I used to prefer FF6 over Chrono Trigger, but when I really gave it a try, I can safely say those two are by far my two favorites. Mitsuda and Uematsu are truly OST masters.
Don't forget about the other games from SNES such as Secret of Mana, Zelda, Terranigma and Breath of Fire 2...they are really an awesome games too with a unique stories dan wonderful background music....Really miss for SNES
Man, you weren't kidding about chill... The music from these two games is something truly special. I actually started tearing up when replaying Chrono Trigger, and To Far Away Times started up. Good stuff! Glad I found a channel to play in the background and ease up. Definitely needed.
Its sense of adventure, the pace, character arcs, different times, and the thing we will never get a true ending, to schala as she is the whole arc of the storyline itself. Guile being janus, trying to find his sister, separating and saving schala from the time devour itself. Chrono Trigger is the greatest game of all time, just based mass appeal, chatacter design, music, storyline, and of course, waking up as alarm, FROGS THEME, lolm
I Love Chrono Cross soundtrack so much, though I would say the Xenoblade trilogy personally! But they are both from the same composer so it make sense!
the only reason I don't just automatically agree with you is because _most_ JRPGs have good music at the worst and there are a LOT of jrpgs that I haven't played. I can easily agree that Chrono Cross is *my* favorite but the title of best soundtrack is absolutely up for debate and that is very much a good thing. ps: did anyone else grow up dropping game CDs into music players? almost all of them used common audio formats complete with track headings so if you dropped a game CD into nearly any kind of cd player they'd just sorta scan for a second until they found something they could read and then just start playing tracks like with any other cd. we barely played Frogger as a game but that disc _lived_ in our car, ironically enough the game about not getting hit by cars is chocked full of _amazing_ driving music.
YES! There are few things in my life that bring back a rush of nostalgia and quiet longing for simpler times quite like the CT and CC soundtracks. May Odin smile on your simple acts of greatness! Cheers!
It was my first on PS1 and to be honest its still my favorite. I loved the story and the character development. The closest thing that reminded me of it was Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Acquiring the Blades reminded me alot of getting people to join your party and getting into each one's back story. Also the soundtrack is done by the same guy :)
Que ilustração linda.... s2 Só quem jogou sabe da magia em olhar pra essa imagem e conseguir ver retratado HORAS E HORAS sentados em frente a uma TV imaginando o fim dos tempos ao lado de Crono e sua turma!
Gotta love the incredible music from these games! To this point, it looks like I've done SMM music levels for three of the songs included here: Secret of the Forest, At the Bottom of Night (my favorite song from CT), and Reminiscence (two of those I also learned to play on keyboard) - plus ten others not included here. Hopefully I get the chance to make more while the Mario Maker servers are still up and running. Chrono Trigger will forever be my favorite video game. :-)
Yeah I just replayed it and with just such a beautiful pixel visuals it still looks good and its really impressive to think that they came up with this story and combat system back in the SNES era
whenever the day comes that I play Chrono Trigger for the first time... and Schala's theme drops............ I will have a big smile on my face..... believe you me
Congratulations, you made me want to play Chrono Cross again, thanks for making me lose a month of my life. XD On a side note, did anyone ever collect all 45(i think) characters in that game?
Great playlist as always! I've been meaning to play Chrono Trigger for a while now(still looking for a cheap snes, leaning towards snes mini for rgb modding)
thanks! i had originally played it back on ps1 when it was bundled with FF4. i ended up replaying it again on the SNES mini. the hakchi mod isn't hard to do and i think its a pretty good experience if you can get your hands on one
Lmao imagine someone hearing Chrono Trigger or Cross and thinking “this isn’t some of the greatest video game music I’ve ever heard,” like I would turn on either of these games and literally get to a point in the game, put the controller down and just vibe like no problem.
I have discovered the secret to time travel... The same year I have high hopes of my crush giving me a chance. Which one do I bottle up is the question?

Same here man. Chrono trigger, final Fantasy 6, and persona 5 are my favorite jrpgs!!!

growing up i only ever played chrono cross but these chrono trigger tracks make me wanna go and play chrono trigger
I only played Chrono Trigger, but nearly two decades later I tried emulating Chrono Cross on my phone. Unfortunately my phone was rubbish.
Do it. Trust me, you won't regret it.
Totally subjective opinion, but Chrono Trigger is a far better game. I hope you've played it by now. And if not, get to the downloading!
cross is on pc now steam highly recommend

That concept art is just beautiful
This game was recently voted the best game of the last 30 years by Japanese gamers. I forgot about this game until I saw this video. So many memories.
Honestly, this is one game I don't think I'll ever forget. It's such a great story and the characters were equally great.
@@Akanezoraa and the music is so so so good.
Yup, from time to time I'll hum a little tune from the game to myself.

One of those games you could never explain past "The writing is great and goes well with the gameplay"
how this music is so otherworldly good
Personal opinion: Chrono Cross has the best soundtrack of JRPGs
right up there with ff8
I Love Chrono Cross soundtrack so much, though I would say the Xenoblade trilogy personally! But they are both from the same composer so it make sense!
Possibly my favorite game soundtrack of all time, either that or Journey
SE in general has insanely incredible music through out so many of their games

YES! I definitely agree, both soundtracks really are special to me as well! Have a good one friend!
Completely chilled with these songs!!!
This video is appropriately named because I got chills from the first damn song. Perfect map music.
Nice mix. Cross was the first RPG I ever played. Good times.

Love this! But one concern: does the thumbnail image show Ayla helping Lucca work on the Epoch? That's an odd choice of helper, Lucca!
Needed heavy lifting :P
So when they making chrono trigger 3d? Been waiting for years lol
Wowee
I bet the artist didnt realize their depiction of the Epoch looks like it was cooked up by Tesla.. haha
