And the biggest reveal is the repeated lyrics, "By starlight... Fight Starlight", which change their meaning depending on what comes before them. "We'll wage this war through space and time by starlight": Waging a war by the light of the stars. "I've just one chance to make this right by starlight": Righting a wrong before the stars alight. One is given the meaning that starlight is a moment to look forward to, and the other treats is as a dreadful deadline. The fact that this song is purely from the perspective of Twilight means she had a huge internal struggle during the episode. One side of her - the "Starlight Glimmer" in her - wanted to defeat Starlight at any cost, and the other side - the "Princess of Friendship" - wanted to save Starlight and drown out the "Starlight" telling her to fight. In other words, both wanted her to "fight" a different "Starlight". So in the long-and-short of it all... You've created a different way to view Twilight's intentions during the season 5 finale, creating a whole new layer of depth to the episode. After all, Twilight did act like this during the fight. Going from full willing to slice her in half with a magic death beam to resolving the whole thing peacefully in no time flat. This viewpoint may have salvaged a little of the finale for me (I really didn't like the episode). But that being said, I know these things can happen without the artist realizing it. So... did you intend this?
