The vocalist did a really good job. The singing was so good! I especially liked the deeper meaning behind the lyrics and the feelings it evokes. I loved it all to bits. Great job!
I know how this feels. Not knowing whether you are prepared for what lies ahead. At school I always feel like everyone knows where their life is headed, but I don't, and I feel separated because of it. I enjoy this song because it reassures me that there are other people out there who feel the same way, and that I'm not alone in this rollercoaster called Life. That's one of the great things about music-being able to express emotions in a way that captures all of the feelings and presents them in a melody that resonates with the listener. Truly a beautiful song :)

Hey, I know this comment is probably coming seven years too late, but for anyone else going through this right now I just wanna say I know how you feel and it's going to be okay. I too went through high school feeling lost, wondering what my purpose in life was, my calling. It felt like my friends around me already knew what they wanted and what they were meant for, their special talents. In that way I could relate to the Cutie Mark Crusaders, feeling like I was still looking for my cutie mark and my calling in life. However I've come to realize, in the seven years since I've graduated from high school, that the whole idea of one true calling is unrealistic and flawed. No one has one true calling, and even those who seem certain of what they want to do right now may someday come to question their "calling". The path of life is long and winding, not straight and narrow, and even my friend who seemed so certain of what she wanted to be is wavering now. That's okay, it's okay to waver. Lots of people change careers and life paths multiple times throughout life. That's okay, and it's never too late to change or start over if what you decide on turns out to not be quite what you wanted. At the same time, don't just sit around waiting for your "calling" to come to you. As I said, the idea that anyone has one true calling that they eventually discover is unrealistic and flawed. No one "discovers" their calling, not really. That makes it sound like a happy accident, a pleasant surprise, when in reality our purpose in life is whatever we choose it to be. No one is destined for anything, we choose who and what we wanna be. And people have multiple purposes, not just one, and that purpose doesn't have to necessarily be a career. It could be a passion, an ideal, the people you care about, your family, etc. Not everyone has to have a career and you don't have to be the next Steve Jobs or Bill Gates to have worth. You don't have to discover the cure to cancer to be a valid and worthwhile human being, or for your life to have meaning. You'd be surprised how little things and even the simplest acts of kindnesses can have a profound impact on other people's lives, and by extension the world. Finally, I would like to end my long-winded comment (lol) by stating that you can find happiness wherever you are. A part of me wonders if we don't spend too much of our lives chasing happiness instead of savoring it? You don't have to be rich or famous to be happy, contrary to what society tells us. You don't have to have a big house and lots of possessions to be happy. You can find joy and meaning in what you are doing right now. You can find happiness is an apartment or a small house. The only thing stopping us is us.

This song completely stunned me when I first properly listened to it. The depressing mood, complete with the echo, is like rain on my skin: it makes me feel sad but not necessarily in a bad way. It's an ambiguous numbness. And the "ring around the rosie" part, that just pierces right through my soul.

Just scrolling through comments on songs that the TH-cam mixer gives me, and I find a mane I recognize belonging to a name I know on a comment I agree with.
This is by far my favorite song in the community. Its been quite some years since i have first listened to it,and i still absolutely adore it. Everything about it simply amazes me.
After 9 years this is still my favourite song of yours. I don't know what about it makes me love it so much, but it certainly has a very special place in my heart. You've come a long way, keep up the great work 💜💜💜
Yet another bone-chilling knockout from 4ever! Where else do you go for a sound like that? And this one comes with a stylish and functional video. It was really nice not having to scroll through the comments to be sure what the words were--not that they were hard to discern in this one.
And does he know how to pick talent, or does he know how to pick talent? Let's give it up for ElectroBlitz and his stirring vocal performance. I might be crazy here, but listening to this song several times, I don't see how it's a song much about Twilight. Oh, there's anxiety about the future in here, sure, but there's multiple things here. In many of the most important lyrics, I see the soul of another young man isolated and crushed by the vice-tight grip of the modern world. But again--I might be crazy.
DJStahrship If Garrison were here, he would tell you that all of his songs have a little piece of him in them, otherwise he would have a hard time writing from that perspective. I don't know about soul crushing isolation for Garrison. He's a stoic and solemn in his demeanor, has been since he was little, so any isolation is really his choosing. But I think all 15-28 year olds are probably wondering the same thing he's been writing about since he wrote "From Here".
Been listening to this, Chant of Immortality and Thought I'd Let You Know for over six years now. It's funny how I can relate to these songs now more than ever, since I'm finally... since I finally have to decide about my future, witness the future of others... Damn I'm gonna miss this community, MLP was a true outlet for creativity.
I love this whole album but this is definitely one of my favorite songs from it. I also really love that pan flute part at the beginning and if someone did this song with a pan flute cover I bet it would be really pretty. If someone has already done this though, sorry for bringing it up again.
Your voice flows beautifully with the dancing of your fingers against your gorgeous instrument. I also admire your different take on words. Well known songs don't always flow with such a song. I will listen to this often to remember your artistry.
Love the 3/4 time style, really gives (IMO) the song a feeling of not being able to stand still. Sort of how a waltz is typically a circular dance not holding to one spot. Just as you think there is a place to hold the dance takes it away again. That might not of made sense
Y'know, it's sort of like a combination of Chant of Immortality and From Here in terms of its meaning. Come to think of it, 4everfreebrony actually has quite a few songs about struggling with the future. He even has a song called "Future (What Are The Odds)." Everfree, this was absolutely amazing. Had a bit of moisture at the corners of my eyes. The imagery, and not just the pic in the video, is very emotional.
This is still one of my favorite songs ever...the deepness, that beautiful pan flute (I'm assuming it's one anyway) and just, how the entire song feels like one huge adventure.

This was the first 4everfree song I actively sat back and thought through and what they meant to me. I even slightly cried. Great job 4everfree can't wait for the fourth.
I really liked the ring around the rosie part a lot, very well done. It's been a while since I've heard a song that catches my ear like this in the community lately (I don't mean that to be rude to anyone else, just haven't found anything that piques my interests)
His brother Christian, who did the last update video, actually helped him write that portion of the lyrics. It is quite clever. Christian is quite proud of having had a little hand in the lyrics!
4everfreebrony May I ask, because I didn't understand, why those little childhood rhymes were in there? I'm trying to find a reason, but my logic seems flawed. Perhaps an answer from the lyric writer himself?
soulyman1thegame Garrison's brother was singing that nursery rhyme around the house when Garrison was working on the lyrics, and Garrison felt inspiration, and said to him "I am totally putting that in this song!" I can guess that Twi was struggling with growing up, and he liked the juxtaposition between the nursery rhyme portion - RING AROUND THE ROSIE and ASHES TO ASHES - representing her youth - and her more mature thoughts were intermixed (NOBODY REALLY KNOWS ME and THE WALLS FALL DOWN, showing the struggle in her growing up.
Wow, a lot of deep and meaningful ideas there. I thank you for that explanation, it makes this song feel even more personal than it did before. He really is such a brilliant person with a constantly active mind. He should be very proud, and so should you.
I agree. Sometimes the smallest things can be an inspiration. In any form expression. I apologize if this question is out of line, I mean nothing by it. But I just picked up guitar in the recent months and I am really enjoying this song. I was wondering if there was any chance we could see the chords? Totally understand if they'd like to keep it to themselves of course! Just curious.
Song's been there for me for more than six years now. Say what you may about the MLP fandom, but it has plenty of hidden gems. I admired your work as a kid and even more now as an adult. I hope you're doing well!
Shgurr linking this song at the end of her Draw my life was just too much for me. I absolutely love this song, but maybe it´s not good that I can relate to it that much....
The emotion never stops with Garrison, does it? Hehe, such an amazing person. I love how he creates songs and music so relevant and appropriate to our everyday lives. He's going to climb high, he may rocket to the moon or drift up in a balloon, but he's going to get there either way. He may stumble and fall every now and then, but he's got so many people supporting him, I think those bad times will be minuscule by the happy ones. As my favourite quote goes. "It's not about how hard you hit, It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward." This song perfectly portrays this. Presenting the idea that the future is scary and will knock us down, but we just need to keep going. That is how we will find out who we truly are. Garrisons music has helped me through the tough and find some enlightenment that has stayed with me for a long time. I really hope he continues to inspire. Sincerely, Soulyman
"Ring around the rosie, no one really knows me" I can relate to this...I always hide my troubles and problems behind an exterior of an aloof and studious girl...inside I hide a sensitive soul and a shattered heart...
+that brony gamer It could be because he can't post the tabs or chords for the moment. I will subscribe when he returns from Argentina, if he posts the tabs, because I really want to learn how to play his songs with my guitar or my Synthesizer.
This song is literally the closest to how I feel with my personal issues and inner depression I'm fighting right now. Should I stay home or wander in the sunlight, I haven't been feeling as accepted as a friend as of late. Is it a rough time again, or is it a sign that I should wander
Thought of one interpretation of this song as I listened to it. Given that Twilight is an alicorn, and says "Raise the Sun so that I can see again" , I feel as if Celestia is not rasing, but instead, it is Twilight. She is sad that Celestia is no longer there, but her friends are. Until, as time goes by, they start to die. One by one, days go by, the days seem longer. I doubt that this is the original meaning of the song, but I think it fits. Kind of.
Dude I just stumbled upon this again after years. When I first heard this song, it was just after my dog had passed and I remember listening to this while I sat out with him at his grave- I-
U1timate1nferno wowow wait... who said that!? she never ages... yes. but doesn't mean she cant get sick... who said that? :) Remember "Aladin" the disney series. a guy wished for immortality... and he became immortal... but still was an really old grandfather... (weak an so on) just because he had assumed, immortal = young and fresh ^^
I'd love to see a instrumental version of this, bc I want to do a female cover in the future, but I love the instruments used here too, nice song, so deep and beautiful!
Look, this song is just an idea. I never said Twilight's immortality was cannon. I'm fairly sure she's not, in fact. Besides, it doesn't really matter. If she does live forever, that'd be cool. If not, that'd be cool, too.
4everfreebrony I wouldn't feel good to outlive my parent, children, and friends. Plus from the show it seems alicorns do have immortality because Celestia talks about living for thousands of years
I'd hate to outlive anyone, as well, but it's always best to make the best of it. ^^ It would be sad, but there are also many bonuses to living forever. But yeah, the songs I write about immortality are mainly sad, and it's meant to be that way. But hey, it's not a big deal. We just keep moving forward. :)
look I get where the concerns are coming from with Twilight's immortality, but even if she is immortal Celestia has said herself "What's the Princess of Friendship without her friends" so she wouldn't just let Twilight outlive her friends, but I still believe Twilight is immortal despite my other belief, sure it's never said directly but it can be assumed considering how old Celestia and Luna are, which is why I think in maybe season 8 we should expect everyone else in the mane 6 to become alicorns, but there would be a downside to this....all the sane and reasonable bronies would have to listen to the screaming and raging of not so sane and reasonable bronies who's headcanons have burned to ashes when that episode does air if it does at all.
Still can’t believe that this has been my favorite song for 7 years..

He's going to climb high, he may rocket to the moon or drift up in a balloon, but he's going to get there either way. He may stumble and fall every now and then, but he's got so many people supporting him, I think those bad times will be minuscule by the happy ones.
As my favourite quote goes. "It's not about how hard you hit, It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward."
This song perfectly portrays this. Presenting the idea that the future is scary and will knock us down, but we just need to keep going. That is how we will find out who we truly are. Garrisons music has helped me through the tough and find some enlightenment that has stayed with me for a long time. I really hope he continues to inspire.
Sincerely,
Soulyman
Absolutely beautiful! I love it
The voice sounds so perfect for this melody too
This is officially my new favorite song. ElectroBlitz! Your voice amazing! Great job you guys. I sway every time I hear this song.
The vocal tones are so interesting!
This has to be one of my favorite songs from him.
So much of the beauty-ness in this song!
I liked the lyrics on this video. Not too many text transitions, but enough to make it look interesting and relevant.
That was a fantastic song. I love these very mellow types of songs.
Beautiful song! Another amazing song!
I've had this song stuck in my head for days! xD
I love it!
"Ring around the rosie, no one really knows me" I can relate to this...I always hide my troubles and problems behind an exterior of an aloof and studious girl...inside I hide a sensitive soul and a shattered heart...
Please go and subscribe to Electro-BLITZ!!!! He has a wonderful voice, and wants to work with other people! Go talk with him!! He's AWESOME!!!!!
***** Oh god please no...
+4everfreebrony His channel seems to be gone, I get an error when following the link in the description. Is there a new link for him?
+kelly french th-cam.com/channels/m70rYx2XLb4RrzigdvfUqQ.html, he apparently had to create a new channel.
+that brony gamer It could be because he can't post the tabs or chords for the moment. I will subscribe when he returns from Argentina, if he posts the tabs, because I really want to learn how to play his songs with my guitar or my Synthesizer.
he has a great voice love the lyrics and song
AWESOME, done it again 4everfreebrony!
The feels... The feels! WHY! WHY DOES IT HURT SO BEAUTIFULLY!
I'M NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING
It's just...
It's just brings me back in time when little me was watching the first episode of mlp 😭
This song is literally the closest to how I feel with my personal issues and inner depression I'm fighting right now. Should I stay home or wander in the sunlight, I haven't been feeling as accepted as a friend as of late. Is it a rough time again, or is it a sign that I should wander
This song is beautiful. I love it.
That opening... beautiful.
Very great voice, very great cover. You are awesome!
the song almost brought a tear to my eye, wow
Thought of one interpretation of this song as I listened to it.
Given that Twilight is an alicorn, and says "Raise the Sun so that I can see again" , I feel as if Celestia is not rasing, but instead, it is Twilight. She is sad that Celestia is no longer there, but her friends are. Until, as time goes by, they start to die. One by one, days go by, the days seem longer.
I doubt that this is the original meaning of the song, but I think it fits. Kind of.
HOLY F**K. That's a deeply sad thought. I like you.👍
And 4 years later, look what Celestia is trying to do. Now she's prepping Twilight to take her place.
Doc903 And now she has.
I'm still freaking in love with this song
Been 7 ys n this still brings me back to the mlp music remembering how good are the mlp music/singers/producers.
Dude I just stumbled upon this again after years. When I first heard this song, it was just after my dog had passed and I remember listening to this while I sat out with him at his grave- I-
Another masterpiece!
I wish you had it sung! I miss your voice in your pony songs already!
Twilight looks like shes had too much cake.
Great song btw
Fate of an alicorn princess
thats why she struggles...
all those Galas... rly make u fat
Miguel Sanchez Luckly immortality prevents heart disease!
U1timate1nferno wowow wait... who said that!?
she never ages... yes.
but doesn't mean she cant get sick... who said that? :)
Remember "Aladin" the disney series.
a guy wished for immortality... and he became immortal... but still was an really old grandfather... (weak an so on)
just because he had assumed, immortal = young and fresh
^^
Zong Zhang she also sounds slightly scottish... i guess the spell had side effects...
Sad Pone
Even tho I fell out of the brony fandom I stand by the fact these songs are surreal and incredible
This is amazing! So emotional, instant like
i hear this 2014 first time ... i hope u never end ur fcking awesome job here ..a legend
I don't know how... but I find this verry motivating... thanks
wohoua! This is so... deep. Nice work quys
I cried. Beautiful. I love this.
This is amazing
Lovely song and it made me want to cry keep up the good work and safe travels.:)
I just noticed how cool this video is.
This is a grate song to listen to while driving
I absolutely love this song, especially with the Irish-like tune, but that vibrato almost killed it for me.
I'd love to see a instrumental version of this, bc I want to do a female cover in the future, but I love the instruments used here too, nice song, so deep and beautiful!
That's good ! Thanks for your musics which they are too beautiful :3
Immortality is a curse, not a gift.
Ahhhh! I can not listen to this and tear up!
That must be a lot of pressure for twily seeing that she is a princess now, that much responsability can drive a pony to madness
potentially my new favourite song of yours
This is a part of Shgurr’s depression playlist (the channel name is shgurr her actual name is Shannon gurr)
I'm aware. ^^ She was subscribed for quite a while.
Somehow this accurately describes season 9 vibes.
I feel sorry for twilight. When you become an alicorn you pretty much live forever, so she's going to out live all of her friends and family. Sad
Benjamin Davidson Wait...what?
Such a lonely day, and it's mine....
The loneliest day of my life.
such a lonely dayyyyyyy, shouldn't should be banned.it's a day that i cant stand
should* be banned
It's a day that I'm glad I survived...
this song has a Celtic feel to me and i enjoy it
