  • Our 3 day trip crossing the Mojave Road did not disappoint! Amazing trail with scenic views, awesome terrain, and epic camping in our overland built Ford Raptor. Day one had us camping in high elevation after visiting some historic sites along the way. This off road trail is worth the journey. Stay tuned as things just start to heat up!

    Love it 🤙🏼. Recently picked up a gen 2 coming from a 2003 4runner. Kinda miss the narrow-ness of the 4runner. But that’s about it

    Very civilized! Great video. I am struck by how very similar the Mojave looks down there to the upper reaches of it here in Utah and Arizona. I love the Joshua trees. 👍👍😎

      It does start to remind me of your neck of the woods. Beautiful area for sure. The dense population of joshua trees are pretty epic!

    Always love videos of the Mojave Trail. Just wish there were people posting their trips without it coming off as a commercial for all their expensive gear. It's like everyone is playing the "Keep up with the Jones" game. I'll put up with some of it, but it's supposed to be about your experience. Not your expense account. I paused this at 10:30 to rant. We'll give the rest of the video a try and see if they get back to the adventure and out of their 1800 dollar fridge And I thought fair to add that your wife has an absolutely beautiful smile. I know your camp site. Can get epic snow there in winter

      I know what you mean about product talk vs actual content. Many channels I’ve enjoyed over the years have turned into infomercials half the time as they’ve gained sponsors. However I am a gear junkie, and most people that ask questions, ask about the gear or message me about products I’m using. I’ll try to keep it at an enjoyable ratio for everyone. Thanks for the comment, and I’ll be sure to let Haley know! :) she does have a beautiful smile, thank you!

    How close do you think you are to your payload cap? I'm planning on getting a raptor to possibly haul me, wife, kid, and two dogs plus my ktm 300xc and some camping supplies for a 2-3 weekend. Think it'll cap out?

      It doesn’t sound like it. I’m guessing I’m around 1,000 lbs with what’s in and on the bed along with hauling my jet ski or dirt bike. The +4 HD leaf springs were a must though

    Great video! As a fellow Raptor owner and getting into the “over landing”. Do you think extra fuel is necessary for the Raptor?? Would you really recommend the rotopax??

    • @TheOffRoadAdventureChannel
      @TheOffRoadAdventureChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Having the fuel is piece of mind really. With trips like this where the distance is pre planned it wasn't necessary. I have them onboard for more spontaneous routes, and I plan to have a dual sport motorcycle outback on a carrier. The fuel will be for either vehicle in the future. It will be necessary for the MC for sure.

    Why the rear facing white lights? Is it a trail requirement?

    • @TheOffRoadAdventureChannel
      @TheOffRoadAdventureChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are amber lights. Referred to as chase or dust lights. With all the dust kicking up behind you, the lights are still visible to someone who may be coming up behind. you.

    • @TheOffRoadAdventureChannel

      I went with 25psi. Thought I'd have to adjust based on the fact I picked that pressure due to the vehicle weight, and load, but it actually felt perfect! Think I'll leave them set where they're at.

    Curious why you didn't get the F250 since it has more capacity than the Raptor. Even though bigger, it doesn't appear that would be a problem for the trails for overlanding.

    • @TheOffRoadAdventureChannel
      @TheOffRoadAdventureChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was after the suspension and motor setup in the Raptor. More of an off road toy to overland in. I enjoy the driving experience with this truck a bit more than I would in traditional pickup.
