my medium spinning is on the moderate side, then I've got a 7ft medium heavy, medium fast action casting setup with 30lb braid leader determinate on baits I'm gonna use but is for my jigs in the 3/8-just about a ounce but can use this rod for my moving baits or jigs, then a 7'6 heavy rod 1/2oz-2oz lures with 50lb braid for frogs, heavy jigs, flipping and pitching, small glide baits, smaller hard body swimbaits, and so now my arsenal is complete. casting rods are the vengence rods, and spinning is a berkley amp rod. and these rods for me allow me to since I usually jack the bait immediatly when I get a strike to not over power the Hooksett completely and so just my 2 cents.
6’6” M spinning rod - it’s a west marine rod from early 2000’s. Similar to st croix premiere 7’ M / ModF - lews carbon fire, use this for my moving treble hooked baits ,chatterbaits, smaller spinner baits, and weightless Texas rigged rigs. 7’ MHF - shimano slx, this rod feels more like a heavy to me. Jigs, 4-6inch swim baits, and frogs. I’m a bank angler and the ponds/ lakes I fish have heavy tree cover and shrubs along the banks. Side arm casting isn’t an option. So it’s cast over bushes but have to keep it under the trees in an opening that’s not much wider than my body. So I don’t use much above 7’.
This was great. I am beginning to co-angle a little bit this summer and I didn’t want to imposition the primary fisherman. I live in the south and there is only one other rod I would consider adding to make this the perfect southern 4 rod limit. I’d add a 7’6 heavy for my CAROLINA rig which is a must have, (lol), and larger swim baits and flipping. That’s the four rod solution……….
I've always used spinning reels. This year I decided to take fishing a lot more serious and decided to watch a ton of videos and learn some more. I've been getting some decent fish this year.. decided to go and buy a baitcaster. I've heard all the stories about birds nests and all that but I love challenges and honestly, it looks a lot more fun fishing with a baitcaster set up. I went with the Lew's Mach 2 SLP combo. Spent about 170. Is that a good enough set up or should I spent that 170 elsewhere?
What’s the particular model of the Tatula you’re holding with the gold reel seat? I used to have one and think they’re discontinued. Would love to find some.
Hey mate, I’m in australia and just bought a daiwa td zero 722mb 3-8kg with 5-18g cast weight and fast action. What would be the best use for this if you could please help? Love to build an arsenal eventually.
The reel is actually been replaced since then. The one I went with I have been using for about 6 months and really like it. It’s a Daiwa Fuego Spinning reel. Matches up well with the Daiwa rod
Interesting… I own 3 Baitcasting rods. (Not including my spinning rods) But the 3 I have are: 7 MH Fast 7’2 MH Moderate 7’3 H Fast I guess that’s similar to your suggestions
Hey David, I figured in this case the length and power was the most important, some people don't want to hear brands. All the rods I listed in the video are Daiwa. Spinning Rod: 7' M Daiwa Tatula // Baitcasters: 7' M Daiwa Tatula & 7'3" H Daiwa Tatula (Omori Pitchin Rod). I hope this helps
@@BassFishingHQ Thanks! There's so many bad reviews out there now that it's hard to tell what to buy. I'm also torn right now on what reel to get. I have 2 older Revo baitcasters and like them but a lot of the reviews on the newer models I'm reading say the side plates easily pop off now and people are losing them. Others are mentioning parts being cheap aluminum and breaking. So lost in bad reviews I can't decide haha. I'm around a $200 price point.
Are they medium, medium/heavy power?…Referring to the rods as medium action is the wrong terminology…did you mean to say “power”?….action refers to taper only…there’s no such thing as medium action. There’s moderate action or fast or slow etc, but not medium. Diawa calls their moderate action rods “regular”, but I believe the standard is “moderate”.
Sorry you didn’t like it, I didn’t want to give the names because I feel like the action is the most important. That way people can go with the rod brand they like the most
I only use 1 rod for bass fishing. 7ft medium heavy. I dont use a finesse rod or a flipping rod. If i dont catch bass, oh well. Its not the end of the world
U confuse me when u say medium action. It should be medium power fast action as an example.

My name is also Tyler. Thanks for all the info buddy

Nice Fishing Poles!
I was wondering what the name of your 7 ft spinning rod is? Thanks for the video

7 ft. Medium heavy. Fast action.
Lews is a well respected brand, so any setup they have will be great. Sorry for the late reply
How have you liked the pole Ozzy?
Looks like (1) 7 ft med to med heavy and I have all 3 covered
What’s the particular model of the Tatula you’re holding with the gold reel seat? I used to have one and think they’re discontinued. Would love to find some.
I have to agree with you
Is a 7'4" rod gonna be better than a 7' ?. If so why. Thanks 👍

what are the brand of the 3 rods you use?
Oh that’s easy, Lews speed stick. There’s like 30 models lol
Conquest 7ft medium spinning
NRX 7ft1 heavy
Expride 7ft2 med hvy glass
David Newcomb perfect!
By Medium Action, are you referring to the way the rod bends or the power rating of the rod?
Technically the power of the rod
Do you primarily use 7 speed reels?
I wish I was old enough to to get a job, dang I really want a nice rod
Better start saving that birthday money!
Syno just start trying to mow some yards and do some yard/farm work for family or family friends
If you could only have 3, what would they be?
Conquest 842 spinning
NRX 854 jwr
Expride 7ft2 med hvy glass
NRX CRR873C Texsrigs Jigs
NRX 902S Dropshot Neds little cranks and open hook plastics
Dobyns 805 for Deep cranks, glides and Chatterbaits
What reel is in the first rod as I would like to go with the Daiwa Tatula Spinning with a suggested reel
The reel is actually been replaced since then. The one I went with I have been using for about 6 months and really like it. It’s a Daiwa Fuego Spinning reel. Matches up well with the Daiwa rod

But the 3 I have are:
7 MH Fast
7’2 MH Moderate
7’3 H Fast
I guess that’s similar to your suggestions
What about power
Probably fast, maybe moderate for rod #2 as he mentioned a parabolic bend
Would help a little more if you mentioned the brand/model of the rod.

He sounds like tactical bassin
I hope you mean that in a good way!
those are power not action ratings.
Whats the purpose of a mono filamant leader? I dont get it
There are no cases where I use a monofilament leader over fluorocarbon so I also don't get it.
People like them on topwaters to keep them positioned properly since mono floats
Ngl you look like Cody from dude perfect
I haven’t heard that one before
Only in that video lol not in your newest one 😂

dear all,
If you can give me the brand/model names, i will appreciate that for you (starting from rod number 1)
Rod 1 - Daiwa Tatula (Newer Model) 7’ M Spinning
Rod 2 - Daiwa Tatula 7’ M baitcast
Rod 3 - Daiwa Tatula 7’3” H baitcast
Power, not action... c'mon man.
So what would the action be?
@@gavin5130 action is how the rod bends....fast, moderate, moderate fast, extra fast etc
Bad video give the name of the rods
