Recently got a graduate job for an accountancy firm in the UK, where my role is going to deal with NAV calculations, this video was really helpful and gave me a better insight of NAV of mutual funds. Thanks for the video. 👍
Thanks for nice information. Request you to guide on following questions: 1. What if the new investment comes in of another Rs.1 Lakh, what will be new size of unit instead of 10,000. 2. What about net profit. 3. How income tax will be treated on Capital gain
Very nicely explained with simple example! Liked the way u repeated key points multiple points, for a first time learner, this is pretty useful to imbibe the concept. Thanks!!
How does daily interest accrual impact the nav. Specially when a large sum is received and invested on the same day in a term deposit. Is the interest accrued for the day taken as part of nav ?
Sri still I am clear will the MF will create the fund after receiving the all total money from the Unit Holder and the they buy the stock r they buy the stock before itself and then divide the asset to NAV. For example, if XXX Fund is 1 Lakh how the buy the share without selling the NAV to retailer. Will the barrow the money from bank in the form of leverage and pay interest for that.
Sir, Why was the amount deducted from reserves and surplus, when there was a salary outstanding. Can you please tell the concept used.( for deducting the amount of ₹1000 from reserves and surplus)
Because this is the P&L side, DR Salary expense account CR Salary Expense account the 1000 which was shown as positive ,Your P&L will show a loss of 1000, under balance sheet Retained earnings or reserves and surplus will show the loss of 1000. Hope its clear
Hi Sir, i have a question if you can clearly give the overall calculations of NAV explaining in balance sheet with examples then it will lot more helpful for us, can you make any such video with all examples and all scenarios included please sir

When a new subscriber comes in, new units will be issued at the NAV. Say for example current NAV is 15 and there are 100 units. If a new person buys 10 units, he pays Rs. 150 to the fund. Total net assets = 100 x 15 + 10 x 15 = 1650 Total units = 110 NAV remains same.
@@1FIN it means when we have to minus liabilities from assets as per formula, then we have to add the owner's equity before dividing it from outstanding shares, correct?
Why you have deducted 1000 salaries twice? There was an increase in shares and added 5000 at assets side and deducted salary of 1000 from 5000 and showed as 4000 at liability side. Again to calculate NAV why you have deducted 1000 ?
Baba GP transfer to p&l and we minus expenses from GP afterward NP was came and we transfer NP to liabilities to add on capital same case here we deducted the liabilities because he paid salary now bank will reduced remember in accounts or any transactions in life always have 2 effects I hope u understand

Sir does no of untis remains same always, what if new subscriber comes in, from where will he get units
When a new subscriber comes in, new units will be issued at the NAV.
Say for example current NAV is 15 and there are 100 units. If a new person buys 10 units, he pays Rs. 150 to the fund.
Total net assets = 100 x 15 + 10 x 15 = 1650
Total units = 110
NAV remains same.
If assets = liabilities in balance sheet, then according to formula of Nav how the Nav will be derived
Assets = Liabilities + Owners funds
@@1FIN it means when we have to minus liabilities from assets as per formula, then we have to add the owner's equity before dividing it from outstanding shares, correct?
@@purswanidhiraj2152 When you subtract outside liabilities from assets, what is left would be net assets available to owners
Good explanation of NAV
🏆
Is there any single video which shows real life example of nav calculation
Great video.

1000 is an expense which will reduce profits balance or reserves balance
Baba GP transfer to p&l and we minus expenses from GP afterward NP was came and we transfer NP to liabilities to add on capital same case here we deducted the liabilities because he paid salary now bank will reduced remember in accounts or any transactions in life always have 2 effects I hope u understand
