  • Here we will discuss various reasons and consequences of "Rise of Nationalism in Europe". We will also see what is the meaning of Nationalism and how the political thought of Nationalism in Europe emerged out of Enlightenment-era. Napoleon played an important role in the rising feeling of Nationalism in France which further spread to other parts of Europe. French Revolution of 1948 is also considered significant from this perspective.
Nationalism was not widespread until the 1800s. The rise of modern nationalism is tied to the spread of democratic ideas and the growth of an educated middle class. People wanted to decide how they were governed, instead of having monarchs impose a government on them.
The rise of Nationalism in Europe led to the unification of Italy and Germany.

Year of second Republic / February revolution is misspelt "1948" instead of 1848 .
