  • The Hyundai Elantra Sport is very different from the regular Elantra. This sportier version gets independent rear suspension, a 1.6L turbocharged engine with 201hp, available dual clutch transmission and at a great starting price.
    Competitors to the Hyundai Elantra are the Honda Civic, the Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta, Kia Soul, Nissan Versa, Chevy Sonic, Chevrolet Sonic, Kia Rio, Honda Fit, Honda HR-V, Toyota Yaris, Chevy Spark, Chevrolet Spark, Chevy Cruze, Chevrolet Cruze, also the Kia Forte, VW Jetta, VW Golf, Volkswagen Jetta, Volkswagen Golf, Dodge Dart, Hyundai Accent, maybe the Hyundai Elantra, Nissan Sentra, Fiat 500, Fiat 500X, Mazda3, Mazda2, Mazda6, Scion iM and Mitsubishi Lancer.

      Hyundai and Honda are pretty much the same for reliability. Remember the run on transmissions Honda had? Not to mention Hyundai has better warranty. The ONLY thing that makes Honda better is resale value, fuelled by 20 years out of date thinking like you have. Oh... and the only Civics with LSDs are the Si and Type R-which you’re paying a huge premium for.

    • @chrishuber8930
      @chrishuber8930 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      smasila its not going to be the stinger its the Genesis G70 thats coming. base model (328i competitor) will be the 2.0 turbo from the new i30 N with 275 hp, with manual or dual clutch, and all wheel drive as an option on the turbo model, then the mid level trim (335i competitor) will use 3.3 bi turbo 375 hp and 400 ft lbs with 8 speed dual clutch, physical LSD, AWD standard, and a bunchh of other stuff. the stinger goes 0-62 mph in 4.8 (conservative number) so 0-60 is about 4.5 seconds on the stinger. the good thing about G70 is its up on torque 30 ft lbs but its also going to be 300 plus pounds lighter. eith the 8 speed dual clitch thats coming out in that car, extra torque and lighter chassis its going to be a powerhouse. in sept 2018 were goimg to be getting the performance G70 as a M3 competitor. A 500 hp competitor.

      CoCoLuv9491 That is true but models tend to appeal to more people then toothless fat people. Subjective , yes but the Hyundai is in a classical sense a better looking car then the Honda. I just test drove one of these and you might be surprised and perhaps slightly upset if you drove one. Honda is no longer the only serious player in this segment. When you start talking value this car is pretty sick and shames the Honda IMO. I have a 10 year old Sonata, Its just an appliance but not one thing has ever gone wrong with it besides the drivers side sun visor which was replaced under warranty. Ive owned a Honda as well.

    I have a 2012 Elantra and it's really a reliable car. I've also owned performance cars, but I'm hesitant to own any vehicle with a turbo, particularly a gas engine. Just about anyone that I ever knew that owned one long enough has had major problems. For only a little over two hundred horsepower, they should design it to be a naturally aspirated engine and design it to stay reliable. If I can't get at least 300,000 miles out of it without major issues, it's not worth it.

      lol... sure, keep believing in that. ;) not really, the roll out for new gen cars specially for the late 2000s is around 4 years max. Face lifts aren't included as a "new generation" model since it still shares the same old interior and engine.

    DO NOT BUY A Hyundai DCT, ever! It's a miserable automatic and it's a miserable manual transmission, it mixes the worst of both transmissions and fails at being anything that is good.
    Do buy a Hyundai/Kia, wonderful cars, every DCT is a miserable excuse of trying to get better fuel mileage and not a performance upgrade.

    Civic is still better imo. The Civic is lighter, has a bigger trunk and gets better fuel economy.

      Ma Hu No it’s not I had a 2017 civic ex-l. It was the worst new car I’ve ever owned. I’ll give you the better fuel economy but that IT. Cvt sucks, infotainment is laggy, the fucking paint chips easy, the sunroof wouldn’t go down after being in tilt mode, trunk wouldn’t open, and last I thought I could get over the rear end being ugly as fuck but I just couldn’t. Only positive to purchasing a civic is fuel economy and the remote start THATS IT.

    Really like the look of this car, but the all-black interior is so drab, I hate leather upholstery, and no auto climate control means it's not the car for me. :(

  • @Fadic4
    @Fadic4 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    For anyone thinking this is faster than the competition it's really not. The 1.5 turbo Civic cvt goes to 60 in about 6.7 while this Elantra takes 8 seconds... that's as slow the base civic lx with the non turbo 2.0 engines lol. Oh and the Civic is also lighter(better handling and gets better mpg than this) the only reason I'd get this is if I didn't like the looks of the civic and like this a lot more.

    • @JTube571
      @JTube571 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      And for $1k you can do an ECU tune on the Elantra and make +75hp and +100tq at the wheels. And the Elantra does look better...

    • @Fadic4
      @Fadic4 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jason Miller lol. That's funny, because there is a tune for the civic that costs $300 and gives it 30 more hp.. do you think there is going to be more aftermarket support for Hyundai or the Civic... I wish people would do a bit of research before replying.

    • @JTube571
      @JTube571 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ***** The tune for the Elantra comes with a spare ECU so you don't fry your original one if something happens. So spare ECU + 75hp and 100tq is a damn good deal. You can keep your Civic, the Elantra still looks better.

    • @Fadic4
      @Fadic4 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason Miller that's you're opinion on looks. 0-60 in the Civic is still faster which is a fact you can't keep denying.. lol I love how you have to spend $1000 more on the Elantra to get it to be as fast as the stock civic...
      Lol... it's going to be funny when the si comes out with adoptive shocks and even more power.

    • @JTube571
      @JTube571 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      ***** I would argue the $1k would make it faster than the Civic. Either way you're coming across as a Honda fanboy, so I'll make this my last reply. Have a nice day.
