VW Golf Mk2 Minichamps 1/43 scale diecast model review

Volkswagen Golf II CL by Minichamps / Paul's Model Art in 1/43 scale.
Mine is a bit more detailed than the factory original model, painted some details myself.
Minichamps made also models of Golf GL trim level in dark blue, and GTI version. Maxichamps has re-released at least Golf CL and GTI models.

Thanks, Mk4 Golfs are still fairly often seen here, but of course as time goes on, they're getting more and more rare here too. Next planned video is Golf Mk3, and after that Golf Mk4 models, and so on :)

Thanks, they released also fancier Golf GL model, but me being like Hubnut, preferred the more basic trim level :D
I think at least here was (in real life) also even more bare Golf C trim level.

I liked the Jetta always more than the Golf. But the Golf is for sure a car with long history and a wide popularity.
Nice modifications. Actually it should come with it when considering the price tag that Minichamps is usually holding up for their model cars.

Indeed, I was a bit surprised at the time they had left these details undone, but GTI version has them. For me at least, the model looked too bare without them, so wanted to paint them myself in the model.
IXO did great job on the Jetta model, I'll do separate video about my Jetta models, yes that'll include also Jetta Mk5.
Always liked Golf and Jetta Mk2, with fairly minor adjustments to the basic shape, VW brought the Golf to the 80's. It was quite good and solid car, no wonder I've seen many Golf Mk2's in your car show videos :)

@@modelcarfinn The VW Golf Mk2 was also the best Golf ever made. The technic is solid as a rock, not too much fancy shmancy electronic and also the best rust protection. So there are still a lot of survivors.
