Finally in the 3rd gen the Golf replaced round headlights with something more modern, but maybe the wide C-pillar was still familiar design feature. Mk4 started the "boomerang" shape C-pillar - tail light design, and Mk4 Golf model video is of course the next planned one.
Heh, more fitting actually for the 80's, the Amiga 500 Operating System is originally from 1987, altough my machine has a bit updated 1.3.3. version, released in 1990, but the "Say" speech synthesizer feature is still the same :)

MK3 was a departure styling wise but after that all the following are subtle evolution expect maybe the 8 which is less round
