Iam 49 yrs old flashing back to late seventid summer of79 north calif. And watching this video i have to admit they put our rides to shame just enjoy it don't want to be an old foggie. Downhill is tougher than dry pools lol

+Brandonator24 I live in America, but I downhill often. I personally use the same technique for speed checking, just compress your legs a little. The lowered center of gravity helps correct for the oscillation in the trucks. The same goes for carving hard. When you go into a steep carve at speed, and you can feel your back end start to lose traction, just compress your legs. It'll take the weight off of your rear wheel just long enough to give them some bite. Hope this helped!

i have 34 years old and started on skateboards by the first time like 5 months ago from now and have gone downhill at 60 km/h and are a "bit" scary... i dont have a great tuck yet and even a very pró longboard, in reality i build a longboard with a santa cruz street shape 8.0" and 180mm trucks... increasing the distance between the trucks... i think all is possible and if i training enought in some years maybe i can reach a decent speed too... good video!! i have 3 videos doing the donwhill on my channel and another video showing the santa cruz street longboard build process... take a look! im from Brazil, so sorry for my rough english!
Not the first airflow i've seen that couldnt take a hit and not break. friend had an airflow fuse and it snapped at the neck after it hit a curb. Other than slight construction problems, the concave is killer!

general question to the universe: I am wanting to get into downhill longboarding. my shoe preference is low top. but for the hills, do I need a higher top? is this a preference thing or more of a necessity? High tops seem so uncomfortable. thoughts?
I'm not a longboarder but logic tells me high top would protect your ankle from road rashes in case you fall. Bone is almost just under the skin on that part of the body so if you fall and slide it'll fuck you up real bad if you wear lo's.
Higher tops are good for protection bit if they restrict your technique then that could be more dangerous so it's all what you prefer and with knee pads it's pretty easy to keep your ankles off the ground anyway

they're good riders good set up is nice but skills and confidence in your skills comes into play too
actually longboard trucks usually lean a lot more, but due to different geometry and longer wheelbase they are more stable at speed

the concave on the airflow decks has surfaces which create so much stress on the deck that they can't take hits as hard as other decks

arbiter is more of a freeride but it's all about how you feel on it
