    Great video for all involved. It does help to have a set of forks at both location. The inverted forks was classic farm
    re-engineering and I loved the 2025Rs tires.

    That 2025r is a pretty slick tractor. I like the idea of flipping over the forks for increasing the lift height like you did (Within reason). I can’t wait to see how you set up your new barn!

    Nylon straps are awfully handy. I use them to load the mower deck onto one the “implement carts” I have at home. And, while not the ideal approach, I liked the idea of inverting the forks...I may need that some day.

    Wow nice larger tractor. Should have gotten that size, but alas 1025R is good for me. OBTW - I was moving some large dome parts (Telescope) and made a heavy duty pallet that I built up-side-down on my tractor forks. I put the forks in line with the pistons and placed two 8' 4x4's across the forks. Making sure I had plenty of depth with the last board. I then placed 4 4x4's either side of the forks and on top of the other 4x4's. Then 2x6's across them to be the bottom of the pallet. Normally they would be 1/2 or 3/4" pine. All of mine was Oak. I screwed all together with log screws for cabins. I flipped it over with help of the tractor - getting heavy! and screwed on the 4' x 8' 3/4" 12 year old Sheet of Plywood. It is like a tank but I can carry large parts and many things using boards screwed as boarders or simply buckets and brush. I keep it on my shop patio - large overhang now with concrete. I have my implements around one corner. (grapple, tiller..) . That moved hundreds of pounds of material for my observatory I'm setting up on my property. Deep mud shows the tractor tire prints, but time was urgent! Martin

    Take your forks and drill a hole about 3 inches from the tip so you can put a bolt in one or both to hold the strap from slipping off (nut and washer top and bottom) of the fork. We did this on the dock so we could pull pallets out of trailers with weak floors or drag pallets out that was too heavy to pick up. True we were on forklifts. It will not hurt the forks but may kill your drill, we used a plasma cutter. Same racks we used in the stockrooms but ours were about 3 times as tall. Only do this if your forks slid in a grove like to ones you were using in this video.

    I think the "upside down" forks for your specific use is way safer than the 8x8 "ramps". If you have the shelves at the same height at the new place, just create a permanent "intermediate height" landing area. Won't be all that inconvenient. Then again, the new barn is a lot bigger, might not need to store hefty things quite so high. BTW, along with your suggestion to tilt the forks down to make them easier to slide, Tractor Mike had a pallet fork video, said to grease the rails. I'm using both methods and it sure is easier to move them now.
    You know it is time to move when you have so many tractor implements that it takes a tractor and pallets to move it all.
    Now that you have used the 2025 are you thinking maybe that model should be the Johnny replacement? Or is the extra width a show stopper for some of those "backyard" jobs? I do recall seeing some pretty narrow gaps between tractor and gate post in some prior videos.

    SO glad you FINALLY realize the 2025R is NOT just a 1025R with bigger tires LOL! I love your video's... but cringed when I heard you say that on another one of your videos! I kept saying to myself...man, Tim just never had the chance to use a 2025R! I was right! I have a 2009 2320 (older ver. of the 2025R) and use the forks all the time to unload stuff off of semi trucks... ya just can't do the with a sub-compact! I've saved thousands over the past few years never having to pay for lift gate fees! Off loading pallets of tile & wood flooring, stoves, insulation, kitchen & bathroom cabinets etc...The loader lifts I believe around 200lb - 450lb more on the loader & 3 point. The 1025r is rated to lift 836 pounds to full height (72″) at the pin while the 2025r is rated to lift 1,023 pounds to full height (78″) at the pin. On the three point hitch, the 1025r can lift 681 pounds at 24″ while the 2025r can lift an impressive 1,150 pounds at 24″ from the pin....just bigger tires?...no I don't think so! LOL

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike, your 2320 is a TOTALLY different tractor than the new 2025r. The new 2025r is much less capable than your tractor.
      It is, unfortunately, a 1025r with larger tires.
      Same power train. Same loader. They turned up the hydraulic pressure slightly from the factory ...which you can do on your 1025r.
      You’ll find the specs are much closer on the 2018+ version.

    • @mikegraziano1562
      @mikegraziano1562 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TractorTimewithTim Ya Tim, didn't realize so much changed in a few years...back when I was looking for a tractor 4-5 years ago the loader & backhoe were different for the 1025r & 2025R, now that use the exact same loader, backhoe & even mower. So there is still the lifting ability, greater ground clearance & longer & wider frame for the 2025R...and the bigger tires that allow MUCH more Rimguard weight.

    Nice looking 2025r! Best I see, is the loader valve still only one function at a time? This was a big thing that swung me over to a BX2380 vs. 1025r. How I use my loader, especially piling snow, a ‘single function’ valve would be pretty annoying.
    I was really torn between the two tractors and at the end of the day Kubota’s financing and straight-forward salesman won the day. I know I would’ve been happy with either.
    Wouldn’t it be great if the best of each make were brought together!!!!
    Enjoy the new property and keep us subscribers in the loop on that huge barn.

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the somewhat difficult two at a time function is over-stated. The hydraulics are slow on these machines (all brands) anyway, so none of them work very smoothly/quickly (in my experience).
      I do agree that there are very positive features on each of the 'big two' (BX80 and 1-series). For example, I love the single point connector on the BX loader.

    Chains are good but nylon or kevlar straps are awesome for choking. Zero slipping, just as strong or better than chain. Chain you only can tighten up to the closest link, always a little play.

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But the choker can only be tied at ONE length. Chain can get to the nearest link (as you said).

    I think when trading in Johnny you should go ahead and get the 2025r you can still do the how to videos and have a bit more capability.

      We moved from 1/2 acre to 10 acres. From the very nice 24x24 building to a 54x36 building. We had to get more space. No choice.

      If you can afford, the 3R is much more tractor than the 2R.

    Tim I know I am a day late and a $$ short, but for future needs or others needs, an empty pallet on your forks is a great way to slide a loaded pallet further onto/into a trailer. Use a chain or strap to pull them to where you can reach them with the forks to unload.

    • @TractorTimewithTim

      We did that. ....apparently it did not make the video. We shoved the pallets into the cargo trailer with subsequent pallets.

      Tractor Time with Tim it did not make the editing. But the comments may help someone else. Super nice of Matt to give you all a day. Is the 2025R still considered the subcompact? Ir a compact?
