Pretty much the (non) reaction you'd get a bike meet in Britain these days. Wasn't always the way but maxi-scoots are a common sight now and many older and experienced riders have switched to them as they find them easier to handle and more practical in our crappy weather. I remember one hot sunny day after parking up near a cafe sweating in my bike gear ,carrying my helmet. Got talking to an older guy and his wife,both in shorts and t shirts,guy told me he'd been riding for 40 years until the BMWs he used to enjoy got too heavy for him. Showed me his 400 Suzuki Burgman that they were touring the country on,lifted the seat,full bike gear for 2 people plus helmets all stashed neatly underneath.
Luckily for me I didn't have to wait decades to realize the joy of maxi-scooters. 💭Honestly I wish I had been born in the UK/Europe because I would have access to all the latest and greatest scooters🛵. In my next life I suppose 😁 Cheers and thank you for the great story 😀 👍 I appreciate it.

They are good rides. I had a 2006 like yours back in 2006. I just picked up a custom painted white 2007 silverwing last week because they are good bikes and quicker than most people realize. In SJ as well. Ride what makes you happy I say.

It is pretty interesting seeing the reactions. Its really an individual thing. When i ride my silverwing some Harley guys wont give the time of day but some are cool. When Im on my Harley Im in the club. It used to bother me some but not anymore. Thats good because Im on the silverwing a lot more than the Harley nowadays.
Very true 👍 It's part of western civilization where BIGGER is BETTER, which isn't always the case. You own both, so, you know the practicality each bike possesses. If you wake out one day and feel like grabbin' gears take the iron horse out, take the Twist'n'go for other days. I've been admiring SCOOTERWOLF'S AK 550 since he bought it. I think, no, I know that it's a better machine compared to the S'wing. I want to test drive an AK 550 so bad but there aren't many on my local market 😫 👎 I'd definitely add a new(er) Kymco to my collection. Hows your local Kymco market?

We have a saying in uk, don’t knock it till you try it, i have a honda scooter and honda motorcycle and definitely use my scooter most of the time, mainly use my motorcycle when i go runs with my brothers, keep the great videos coming
i ride with a bunch of gold wings and mostly Harleys they are all surprised that i can keep up and pass right along with the biggest motor there sooo yea they except my scoot most are suprised to find out its only 600 cc

To be honest, there were a couple of LOLs and dudes cracking up but I expected that much. It was all love. About 99% of attendees were mature and respectful by Big Blue's present, which is all that really matters. 👍😀🙏
maxi scooter IS motorcycle, don't see what's the problem. It's the same driving license :) I care about the people, not their bikes. AH is an AH no matter the ride. And good people is good anyhow. Nice to see "exceptance" thoe in your case. In Europe, I don't think it's a big deal. We even wave to each other :) (even to BMW and HD riders!!!)

I bet if they tried the 600cc silverwing they would be surprised how fast it is. I regularly go the bike meets on my scooter, at the end of the day we all ride 2 wheels, if people don’t know you then for all all they know you might have another 10 bikes in garage

I take my maxi scooter to the citibeemers rides frequently. 1st it was a burgman 650..then honda Silverwing and bmw gt now I have a kymco 550 ak Always able to keep up with gs and rts or all the other kind of bikes that come to the group. We do mainly backroads with its low center of gravity and no gears u almost have an advantage...small wheels may come to bite us back ..glad I'm not the only one to do it ..lol

The GT was a very comfortable machine somewhat heavy for urban traffic great on highway. Did handle well .High maintenance. No longer made for USA. The Kymco is the largest maxi u can buy in USA .Faster great handling great suspension and brakes .they were making the BMW gt engine. Hope they bring the touring version 2023 to the states.

You should go to the Isle of Man TT doesn’t matter what type of bike you ride everyone just there enjoying the atmosphere. In uk most bikers nod to each other as you pass I ride a sport/street bike but don’t care what people ride still two wheels
Isle motobike races are wild to watch!😳 Those riders are the cream of the crop, wizing around corners, catching air and dodging obstacles⚠️🚧. As for Rider-saluting👋, it's a mixed response over here. Some riders do salute scoot and some don't, but either way that doesn't stop us from having fun 😉 Cheers brotha🍻

I spent last year riding my Honda Forza to every bike night at the Harley Museum. No issues at all.
