2230 miles on my Honda Silverwing

Scenes from our 2330 mile trip from Ashland, Ky to Townsend, TN by way of Front Royal Virginia. We did The Skyline Drive through Virginia and The Blueridge Parkway all the way to Cherokee, NC. New Friends and great roads make for a great ride.

I rode mine out west last year too. I left Townsend Tn and met a friend of mine in Columbus ohio and we rode out to Yellowstone and them up into Montana. Had a great time.

Skyline Drive. The only road I ever rode that didn’t go thru the mountains, it goes over them. It’s like a 90 mile scenic overlook.

Been torn between getting a motorcycle and finding a used Silver Wing, to get more mobile and go down the Blue Ridge more. Leaning toward the ease of automatic, with some health issues I deal with. How much do you like the Silver Wing? It handles long trips and mountains well? Did the back touring trunk come with it? I was also looking at a classic 76 Hondamatic, but as cool as it looks, I’m not sure it is feasible for that type of trip or normal commute. Also, how heavy is it? I only weigh about 150. Thanks!
