    Hi Marc,
    Just letting you know that I purchased the Nord music stand and successfully mounted it on my NS3 compact (73 keys) without having to do any adjustments to it. Might be due to the fact that I have the Revision B. Not sure why Nord haven't put an official statement regarding this in their website (they don't like money?)
    Cheers

      Hi KidCrippler! This is great news about the stand and maybe you're right about Revision B. I'll pin this comment so that people see it as the dominant comment for a while. Thanks for the update - this really helps.

    Accurate review. Well done. I have this stand and have used it on my Nord Piano 2 for years. It is very durable and sturdy. I keep my chord sheets in a thin 3 ring binder which I can open on the stand and then flip pages easily during keyboard use. Note that the top edge of the stand is folded back 90 degrees. This makes a convenient attachment point for the bases of those clamp-on flexible stalk LED music lights. For transport I wrap the stand in a towel and place it on top of the NP 2 inside my gig bag. One more thing . . . you see how the pin mounting provisions insert into the plastic receivers on the keyboard? There is a some friction at these points making stand removal sometimes a bit difficult. So I spray a bit of clear silicone lubricant onto a paper towel and then wipe it onto the mounting pins. With this treatment the stand is easier to install and remove from the keyboard. And when removing the stand, always pull upward gently and evenly on both sides. Credit Nord for a well-designed stand like everything else they build.

      Hello @Rod Coddington thanks for your comment and feedback here from your time in the field. I LOVE the tip about the clear silicone lubricant and I agree with what you said about pulling the stand out too. Thanks for your participation here - it's very helpful for those visiting. 👍🏼

    I just got mine yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this product vs. the price. I was sure it would be worth it, but it IS!
    Question I have is how are others packing this out to a gig? I have a Nord soft side case for my Electro 6D and I’m not seeing a place to put the stand?

    • @MyKeysToMusic
      @MyKeysToMusic  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @juansolo7194 Hello Juan - thanks for your comment and question. So, I can put min in the Nord soft case 76 key with a much bigger side pocket. It looks to me (based on pictures online) that the Nord 73 soft case is not nearly big enough to accommodate the stand. You'll likely have to use a separate soft case made for like a 49 key keyboard such as this (affiliate link): amzn.to/3P2hX0d

    You are correct that it is pricey as you mention several times during the video. I would love this for my new Electro 6D 73 but that 119 American dollars gives me pause. Nord also is out of line regarding their pricing of the Half Moon switch at $275. That's 275 for a three pole switch. I'll stick with my 30 year old Yamaha foot switch that spins the Leslie up and down just fine. Great review as always Marc.

    • @MyKeysToMusic
      @MyKeysToMusic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lou - thanks for the feedback here and for checking this out. I'm happy (as pricey as it is) that it seems to be of good sturdy quality and it feels like it can hold just about anything within reason as Carl points out. I'm still happy with the purchase but yes, things made by Nord appear to me to be on the somewhat "exclusive" side a bit. Third-party compatible accessories such as cases, pedals and such draw a lot more competition making their purchase far more reasonable by comparison. As another example, I recently purchased a "generic soft case" for the Nord Electro 6 and although it cost me a whopping $21 US, (very very inexpensive), I feel it's not a perfect fit and somewhat lacks in the protection department for the Electro. In fact, the case itself was a bit below my standard and I was uncomfortable reviewing it as a result. In my situation, however, (I don't use the Nord Electro 6 to play out yet), so the low-cost case gets the job done so I won't be returning it. But, I couldn't recommend it to a working musician. In contrast, my $300 Nord 76 case with wheels is also very pricey but I can say first-hand that the case rocks and happy I spent the extra for that one. It protects the almighty Nord Stage 3 which I do gig with regularly so I'm feeling good about that particular purchase. So glad you mentioned this topic as I (we) can appreciate all the angles here for sure. At the end of the day, Nord stuff is pricey but it seems to deliver on nearly all the promises... Thanks for watching!

      @@MyKeysToMusic No question about Nord quality Marc. I've used the Nord gig bag case for my Electro 3 61 for years and love it. I'm thinking I'm going to have to bite the bullet and and buy the Electro case for my NE6D 73. Like you, I have a generic gig bag for my 73 and feel it's not protecting the instrument as it should.

      @@aschay When I put the music stand in the side pocket, I don't bundle that with anything else. I have a separate gig bag (mailbag) for wires, pedals, etc. Based on what I'm seeing on this page: www.nordkeyboards.com/products/nord-electro-6/accessories, the 73 key case pocket will NOT hold the music stand. With that said, I don't have one to be 100% sure but my eyes say that there is simply not enough room in that pocket to hold the stand. The bigger 76 and 88 key case have much larger side pockets and putting the stand in those sizes is not a problem. Sounds like someone should come up with a "sleeve" for the Nord Keyboard Stand so that we can have some form of protection for it when traveling.

      @@johnsalazar3903 John, I think you can go big with this. I would say up to 10 lbs to be honest. It's built like a tank. The stand is super solid and the connectors in the back they provide are affixed very well into the metal frame of the keyboard. Very sturdy, I think it could handle whatever you throw at it. I was skeptical of what quality I would get for the price too, but I ordered it on sale (still $$) and was really impressed with the quality of it. The V2 ones include pads between the Nord and stand that prevent any scratches or rubbing.
      Metal shops in my area would not be able to design, build, paint, and apply the pads for less than I spent on the stand. Also, and this was the biggest factor, I needed it for a gig this week.
      If you do make one I’d be really interested to hear how the process went, final installation pics and savings.
