    I have had the 93sv for 3 years now and am still playing with it. Your video is the first one I found that actually digs into the details of sonar. There are other sonar settings I am also confused about like changing sonar angle, frequency, interference etc. Do you have other videos available? Thank-you.

    • @coltonposeyfishing
      @coltonposeyfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching, I do have another one but it is on Humminbird units. As far as frequencies the higher the kHz the more narrow the beam. For example if I’m fishing a point I’m the only one there it is 25ft deep I run my sonar on the lowest frequency possible as long as the water is not muddy. But if I’m fishing close to another boat tune that frequency up and now you will not be interacting with their frequency or them yours. Get on the internet type in fish finder frequencies there is all kinds of little tricks. Interference usually happens if a unit is installed incorrectly or transducer also I turn my unit to standby at the dash when I’m fishing from the front and vice versa if I’m at the dash for possible interference purposes. Hope this helps and thanks again.

    So if you change color on down view will it just be on down view, forge that color change on let’s say side view?

    • @coltonposeyfishing
      @coltonposeyfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea so changing the color on down view is similar to side view it really is an adjustment that can help you individually with your eye set. So if you can see better on sunny days with blue I might see better with green etc. it’s just a simple adjustment to your liking. Thanks for watching!

    • @coltonposeyfishing
      @coltonposeyfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like you may have blockage or interference with the transducer. Try sitting still and see if it has any picture at all if no there is more than likely an issue with the level of the transducer or some type of interference.

    Thanks, we have been struggling with our Garmin 93sv this really helps. Question, what happens when you go to split mode? does that degrade the image? Trying to use both sonar and ClearVu simultaneously to find and confirm fish, ideally I would see the same fish return on both images. Your thoughts?

    • @coltonposeyfishing
      @coltonposeyfishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dennis Rudloff thank you for watching I was glad to help! Split mode basically shows you the sonar but in two different frequencies. No it will not downgrade the image on any Echomap model that is not a UHD you will have to be at the correct speed at the appropriate time to get a clear view of fish with ideal target separation.

    • @coltonposeyfishing
      @coltonposeyfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a good question, there is several things that could be the source one is your transducer adjusted correctly? Two is the speed you are scanning at too fast? Three is there any options you may have accidentally selected? Etc. if you have ruled all these options and others out look me up on Facebook or Instagram and send me a video or live video chat and I will do my best to help you diagnose the issue if worse comes to worse reset to factory default settings and start over.

    What can I do as not to see my down rigger ball? I have the transducer set at 22 degree angle.

    • @coltonposeyfishing
      @coltonposeyfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would need to cut down the sensitivity although depending on the angle of the transducer can create a better reading you may need to adjust a different angle. Also some issues such as this are hard to address without seeing the issue in person! Hope that helps!

    Questions I hava garmin echomap 126 sv ultra I do alot of down rigging and it noticed when im down rigging on my sonar screen 2d and it shows alot of cluster and arches but relized it might be my 4 downrigging weights and cabel is there a good setting to fade it out a bit

    • @coltonposeyfishing
      @coltonposeyfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching I haven’t used the ultra units but I would believe that the settings are similar. If this is so it all determines on water clarity for you settings especially with 2D because of trash that may be in the water etc, so next time you go out set it to default and adjust the gain accordingly to get the best picture possible. Thanks hope this helps if not you can reach me on Facebook or Instagram and I don’t mind to do a live call to try and help you set it up! 🎣

      @@lawrencefrausto7618 I gotcha just get out there and spend time with it using the gain also if you are fishing an area of similar depth turn your range to 10ft below the actual depth so you have a consistent reading and it’s not jumping around sometimes this can cause streaks and confusion.
