- The D-dart tempest is certainly a unique blaster. It's got an anime mecha gauntlet feel to it (a la Ember Celica), and a deviously simple pusher mech for its defining 'round grip drum mag design.
Apart from its massive dart compatibility flaw, with some modding, it's a great fun little addition to the hobby; it will be fun to see what more we can do with it.

I really advocate for the D-Dart Tempest to be a foregrip for other blasters.

It sounds good but that's likely a pretty difficult mod. You'd have to remove the existing cylinder and replace it with something to feed in a belt without doing anything to affect the loading system (so you've got to slip the belt in and out sideways at an awkward angle but still have it line up right at the motors. Don't get me wrong, I think it's do-able just difficult. Still, never know what those modders'll come up with eh?

Been waiting almost a year for tutorial.

With some tinkering and a 3d printer you might even be able to make a lower mag-capacity version for a slimmer profile. Would be super good for cosplay.

The goblin being 60 bucks is a great secondary when used with a caliburn or Talon claw

Big old cross-shaped housing.
Rival flywheeler out the bottom, using all the deadspace in the vertical as a giant hopper.
Titan tank with an automatic pump and an adapter for demo rockets out the top.
Bunch of Heras in the arms.
Wrap it in cloth and show up to the war in a suit.

I saw one of these at Barnes n noble when I was getting books for school and I could easily slip the darts out (I put them back in) I’m surprised nobody that has lost their darts for it have took some from the new ones

Can you try modding it so it's belt fed? The current ammo capacity is kind of lacking when the modded one shoots so quickly and it takes so long(at least, I'm assuming)to reload.
I'm thinking you could probably remove most of the front of the ring, where the darts normally go, and keep the back to use the hammer mechanism and feed the belt.(maybe by adding grooves in the front, so the turning of the ring feeds the belt.)
Hijack a piece from an existing belt fed blaster to put on the top, and there you go!
Faster reloading and higher ammo capacity if you so desire.
Meme McMeme capacity, why not? But belt fed would be a no no because the point of this is supposed to be small and compact for your wrist.

Dude, I am super glad that you make videos. Thank you for taking a step towards turning these toys into a hobby, Walcom did a great job with his, but I think I am really looking forward to seeing what can be done without the power switch! I know it's still not as popular but I'd be super excited to see what brushless motors could do. I used to race RC cars a LITTLE bit, THANK YOU FOR MAKING STUFF!

I wasn't expecting someone to reference rwby with ember celica
When I was a kid I had these pump dart launchers that while they took forever to pump they had a very long range and once you pumped it up they would fire off rounds like a galting gun though they were front loaded and over all not very efficient but I have never seen anything else like them anywhere so that is a neat thing
You should 3D print a few drums for it and modify it to have a removable clip so you can have a few ready loaded.

If you don’t mind losing wrist flexibility, and it doesn’t foul the dart pushing mech, you could make a sleeve of spring-fed tube hoppers and potentially quadruple your capacity.
Would need a second ring bearing near your elbow to support the tubes, but would be a neat mod to try. Could do a speed load mod by making the hoppers modular and swapable on the fly.
Not gonna win any awards for a streamline design but that’s clearly not why you’d get this blaster
Using this as a skeleton for an Ember Celica build would be legendary! Without a mod it basically fires at the speed Yang fires them off, but the more the merrier!
A good mod guide would be great. I bought 2 as soon as they went on sale. They're pretty weak out of the box so I can't wait to have a bit of fun with them modded.
im imagining this as RWBY cosplay for Yang's shotgun gauntlets but scaled to the mega darts from nerf and a smaller wheelhouse.

If you extend the center ring to fit snugly on the arm, you can replace the grip/trigger with a wired ring with a button to free up that hand. It's very similar to a rubberband gattling guantlet I have been tinkering with in the background for a few years now.

Is it possible to mod an auto blaster like this to have faster spin up and higher fps, but not crazy fast rof? For all the time it takes to load up a high capacity blaster, i dont feel the need to blow it all in like 3 seconds. Its not ultra high capacity like a prometheus or a proton pack after all. Id like to use this for high power selective shots. You can double the rof with two of them by staggering the trigger pulls or spinning it yourself

The company that made this blaster was probably inspired by *Black Widow's Gauntlets* from Marvel
Was thinking about getting two of these, and put them in drum mag pouches, recovery dump pouches, or any pouches that would fit these; and use them as holsters for these blasters.
Now figure out a way to swap the cylinder after its empty

If you are making a kit for this, you need to make a new flywheel cover that has reverse rail to make this a masterkey. A sling would be way to awkward and a holster isn't really possible unless you just want a bucket on your hip. Reverse rail would be perfect. Always at the ready, not awkward, and tactically sound as a quick dump of darts.
If you could rapidly replace the ammo rings with a fresh clip, it'd really be an impressive compact burst-fire system. Maybe something that spins a full ring and then disconnect/drops the ring to allow one behind it to take it's place, allowing 4 or so rings to fit along the user's forearm for some really nice barrages.

you could spring load the ring mag to allow it to have multiple cycles, maybe have custom darts that just have half the length of a normal dart at well? just some ideas for others to consider

I'm in the UK so getting hold of one is really tricky. If you sold them @ your online store and a mod kit like what you were describing I would be seriously intrested and I'm sure others from countries that don't have target would also be intrested. Not to mention all the folks in America who would want the mod kits/components 🙂
Instead of your arm, you can put a barrel of another gun into the circle. And than integrate both trigers.

Man, this reminds me so much of the Blitz Needle from Spiral Knights! With -a few basic- heavy modifications, this could be exactly that!
Edit: except that it's a bullpup. That's an issue, but could be fixed with rewiring.

My son bought this from target with his birthday money. Tried 3 different sets of brand new AAA's and it would bearly even spin like it had dead batterys when you pulled the trigger the motors would die down couldnt even make it threw one drum. The always on motors are very annoying as well. We boxed it back up and too it back lol pos in my opinion. Now if it worked like your lipo modded one then heck yeah it looks awesome!!! Lol

Not that I have experience in this field... But from a practical view... Couldn't you program the on off switch to be full auto/single/ and or burst? So you could theoretically switch between fire modes? That blaster is incredible!
High powered magnets and a thigh mount might work for a lanyard/holster option.

Why not wire the on/off as a fire selector? It's location might make it easy to trip between semi/full with your trigger finger.
This looks like handsome jacks wrist blaster
could you mod it to attach underneath or on the side of a regular rifle barrel? It could be a support handle for your offhand that basically gives a slow-firing, but longer-range and more accurate gun, a secondary fire.
If you think about it the modded one is like an mg42 type action at it's simplest form, two motors spinning a belt
Love the ludicrous ROF on this... do believe the high FPS and single stage trigger are usefull... but the blaster would be much more practical if it kept its single dart fire ability... my proposal would be to keep the rotation meg slow and only up the FPS the way you already did.
Or: make it beltfed the way I described on Insta and keep the high ROF ;-)
Or: make special ‘drums’ that can clamshell open with a highe (like a bracelet) so you can reload the thing relatively quickly... they would be kept on your firing arm behind the blaster so you have your off hand to reload and would add to the ‘mech’ feeling. Maybe use magnets to keep them closed onto themselves... those would slot around a portion of the original drum that you would keep since it has small cog teeth on it that would wear too fast if printed.
Or: You could also make half drums (basically half of what the bracelet would be) and have them attach to what’s left of the original drum with magnets completely... half drums can be stacked and make for easy ‘take them with you’ methods... (on the side of your legs perhaps?
Anyway... plenty of thoughts on this one :-)
The pusher method in general is ingenious and could be used in many different blaster styles... a regular revolver being one of them! Doesn’t always make sense though and I see why ‘this’ platform is where it really shines!
