Hi Will! Your videos are great thank you so much! We upgraded to a redundant Ableton Rig using PlayAudio1U because of your videos. If we use Lightkey in our Ableton session for the A rig will that me too much load on our machine? I have PTSD from our tracks rig going down during a show. Just don't want to put any load on the tracks rig. Need your experience and guidance here 🙂
Hey Will! Thanks for the video, as always super helpful. My band has been using Lightkey with ableton for about a year and it has been a great experience. Because our show has tracks and lights now, I figured it’s time to set up redundancy and getting a Playaudio 1U. Will our lights have redundancy with A and B computer set up? Or do I have to run lightkey on a separate Mac for that? Any help around this would be awesome. Thanks!
Hi Will! I am now using LightKey (the free 24 channel version) and my Ableton Live says the automatically generated ALS file for my LightKey Live buttons says the file is corrupt because of non unique Pointee IDs. I can't pull the LightKey Trigger clips into my Ableton Live set at all. I found a video you did on corrupt files in Ableton 11 and the fix using the options.txt file. I tried that, but it still won't work. Do you know how to fix this?
Thanks a million for your excellent video's! I'm an Ableton guy and still using DMXIS. The thing that holds me back using Lightkey is the fact that I don't see a way to repatch DMX channels after I program a show. I'm a technician for shows that travel to different theaters. I use a combination of my own fixtures and I use the house lights. So when I get to the venue, I have to repatch some of my DMX adresses. Do you know if that's possible? Thanks!
Thank Will. Had a similar question to this. For A touring band not traveling with our own lights, We give specifications of the lighting setup we want on the venue. The question is, How do I connect the computer to the lights to have the same results from venue to venue? What do I need to purchase that will connect to the venue-provided Lighting?
Hello! Question for you: Lightkey is not showing up for me as a MIDI port on Ableton. What am I doing wrong? I followed along with the video and it's just not there! Thank you.

You’d have to reach out to DMX-is support
@@fromstudiotostage , DMXIS does have the patch function, but I want to switch to Lightkey :)
Found it 😊
sorry.. meant contacting lightkey.. I'm not an LD and haven't gone that deep with it.. so I can't help much there. @@OELMEIJER

I don't have much money, what is the minimum laptop specs to run Lightkey and Ableton on same computer?
I run it on my base model M1 MacBook Air with zero issues.
@@gabriel_levithat’s an m1 tho 🥲
Great channel and content! Want to say you have a typo on your thumbnail. Feel free to delete this comment! :)
Haha. I’ll fix it and delete the comment and no-one will ever know, expect for the Instagram post I made today…oh well, maybe I leave it :)
@@fromstudiotostage hehehehe. “Erased from the Internet”
