It great to see people singing and playing the Keytar instead of limiting the instruments to solo playing. This gave me the confidence to treat the Keytar as a mini piano and sing with it. Unfortunately There is nothing on TH-cam on cool patterns for the right hand to create a full sound for a singer to take the stage like this man here. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Excellent! I thought electric guitar was one sound that couldnt be replicated well on a synth but the voice used here sounded pretty accurate.

Amazing performance and expression, that is undeniable, and way beyond my own skill. But as a keytar player myself, I personally prefer to use my keytar to do things that are more exclusive to synthesizers, like using synth leads, instead of playing guitar imitation sounds.

He is usually using software from Musiclab - RealGuitar, RealLPC, RealRick, RealEight and RealStrat with guitar amps simulators like Guitar Rig or Amplitube.

4:15 - 4:18 Does anyone know how Jeff is doing this? It seems like he’s shifting the octave up a few times, but it doesn’t appear to be done with his fingers and the steps seem a little to discreet for a whammy type foot pedal? What gives?
That black bar on the handle can function as a whammy bar
I have the bend range set to 12 in each direction from middle. The whammy effect is coming from the same finger doing the bends,
That’s impressive. I zoomed in on your hand and sure enough, I can see the tiny, discreet movements up the bar. Pulling that off during a live performance is rather cool indeed. Thanks for introducing me to Gary
Moore as well. If I could make a suggestion…. John Mayer performed as recently as 2022 with Greg Phillinganes. And Greg busted out some Keytar solos. I’d consider having your agent send this performance to John. I’d love to see you on that big of a stage. That is assuming you don’t know John Mayer already, in which case, I guess you could send it to John directly.

I've got a MOOG Liberation and an Alesis Vortex controller. They're cool - I need what You've got. Hahaha
you could do this with a vortex, but you need to be connected to a computer running realguitar (the software he uses)... and his keytar is (I believe) just a recased Roland AX-1
@@jessebondmusic yep the AX-EDGE would be the only board out there that could handle the software besides the AX-1 The edge didn;t come out till 2019 and still alot of people don;t know that most keytars are controllers, they have no sounds of thier own[or very limited] until the Edge came out..I don;t include the Liberation as its in a world all its own..: ) If MYKLMUSIC every wants to sell his, put me on the list!
MM If you ever decide to sell the liberation or it needs a " tune-up" contact me or one of oh maybe a few guys,lol that would be interested and qualified. Im an old rhodes wurli hammond tech that found a new niche in analog repair.Have owned a "few" moogs and my line up is always changin,but a Liberation would never leave.......lol

Dude! That was jaw-dropping! First, even though it doesn't have to do with the keytar, your vocal control is outstanding. Second, rather than just use your keytar is a gimmick, you used it as an actual performance instrument. You got subtleties and and nuances that must have required hundreds of hours of practice. Third, you made the keytar look actually cool. Really cool. Really, really, really cool.
