    The C5000 + M5000 with the new 5000 series speakers sounds awesome. Clear, tight and non fatiguing.
    Love the frosted finish on the C5000’s small knobs. A lovely touch by Yamaha.

      You know why Yamaha calls it the M-5000? Because it looks half as good as the MX-10000. Fuck Yamaha. Charging $10,000 for a unit that is built cheaper, looks cheaper, and as inferior specifications compared to their past statement pieces with bigger VU meters.

    Yamaha C-5000 looks beautiful. Personally for me, it won't work because it has only 1 set of Bal (XLR) output.

    Excellent video and informative. I have heard the C5000/M5000 combination at a store in the US. It is outstanding, I hope to be able to buy this combo sometime in the future, I love them. I am sure you will sell a fair number of these. Build quality is also outstanding.

    I like the mock 70s design. But to be honest it's overpriced and over-engineered. But I guess that's what you need to do as a company to survive on the high end market these days.

    • @TLPCHC
      @TLPCHC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think it is over priced. Pricy Yes, but performance costs money

      But what is the production cost vs. retail price ratio? Even actual vintage equipment was rarely that expensive when new, and back then productions costs were higher, machines were harder to make and more expensive, a lot was still done by hand, there was barely any computer assisted design etc. components were far more expensive especially semiconductors.
      Also this is just a preamp, not even an integrated amp. So the cost seems asteonomically high for the functionality you get (essentially just an active volume/tone control, phono stage, input selector).

      @@westelaudio943 7500€ is not that expensive in the world of high end audio.
      In today's market you have DACs that cost 50k alone...

    Any news on Yamaha's home theatre receiver line up for 2019/2020? Normally we'd have heard about Yamaha's new models by now. I have an RX-A2050 I'm looking at updating.

    Hi, How good is the phono stage inside it? Good enough to not need buying a separate one? Thanks

    • @TLPCHC
      @TLPCHC  ปีที่แล้ว

      The phono stage on the C-5000 is astonishing! At the extreem of the industry you will find a better phono pre-amp then the one on board, but I would see no reason not to use the C-5000's.

    • @JohnDoe-rn3jy
      @JohnDoe-rn3jy ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TLPCHC So in summary you'd use it with a cartridge around 2K, and don't be tempted to upgrade to something several times more expensive? I read on some forums the phono section is really good, so no need to go separate. Also much better than the one on the A-S3000, and guess noticeable better than the one on the A-S3200. Thanks for your fast reply.

    • @TLPCHC
      @TLPCHC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes - And Yes, the phoino pre-amp in the C5000 is massively better than A-S3200

      Very true. My comment is based on my personal experience. The Japanese people do have a culture which does make them in general oriented towards quality and attention to detail.
      But I think customers who are about to drop $12k+ AUD/NZD will care where the product is manufactured.

    What.... no white gloves or dusting cloth...or double boxing...included... ? !

    • @TLPCHC
      @TLPCHC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is double boxed. There is a brown freight carton and a full colour inner box. As for white gloves - these SLIP, making it way more likely to drop the unit. I never use them
