I love the fact that instead of making Creature Feature more heavy, he kept C.F. the same and created Rufus Rex for more heavy music. How wonderful and smart Curtis is, despite most people who start underground and change their music to be noticed by the mainstream.
I love this song so much, probably my favourite on the album. When my mum was pregnant with me, the doctors believed she had miscarried. She lost a lot of blood and I wasn’t showing up on the scan. But as it turns out, I was still alive, although I did end up being born early. The line “death is just the beginning” as well as the song’s whole theme of resurrection and rebirth really resonate deeply with me for a number of reasons. My pen name has become Lazarus Rex in reference to how I feel about this amazing song and the wonderful man behind it.
Mary LePage Actually, Rufus Rex was a side project Creature Feature did! Rufus Rex is really just Curtis, and all those background instruments are just Erik's fucking majestic keyboard.
Guys, I don't know if you all know, but there is a Rufus Rex song called "You'll Never Guess" it's awesome, check it out! Give likes to make sure it stays at the top!
Watch this first, and then watch Personal Demons. This song is like it's from the perspective of the man who brings a character to life, and Personal demons is like it's from the perspective of the character that was brought to life.
Curtis, Looking at a horse currently, if it works out, I've already decided I'm naming him Lazarus. Came up with the name literally while listening to this song at work :D CF Rufus Rex may very well have named my potential horse.
Lazarus is however, in his own way, cursed. He can only lay to rest when Jesus bids him to, and since Jesus did not do so before passing on that means Lazarus still lives, no doubt deep beneath the Vatican, until the end times when he may finally be granted the eternal sleep.
Odd part is: Lazarus is a man from the BIBLE... revived by Jesus... I was singing this in church and the lady next to me looked at me like I was a maniac... '-'
@TheInsaneWatchmaker Yeah, I didn't know about that until I was watching Casper and they mentioned Lazarus as well, and I was like "Okay, so who is this guy?" And my mom told me about him.
Ok kind of unrelated but I'm buying a electric fender guitar next month (fender the type Curtis plays I think) does anyone know we're to buy a used one in good condition?
To be honest at first I was like "nah, this song is not that good". But it's kinda catchy so I started to listening to this song over and over again and here I am, melting and screaming "Rise, Lazarus" with passion xD
Remember, a necromancer is just a late healer.

Seriously, the art for these RR singles is absolutely gorgeous. They beautifully complement the songs. Hats off to the amazing Mr. Boatwright!
Dude’s face tho
I checked out the bandcamp link. Just an entertaining tidbit, Voltaire loves this whole album
Curtis is such a great guitar player, his melodies and guitar tone are just fantastic.
It would be interesting if the protagonist for the dead air album was being supplied by the graverobber at large
Listening to this while reading Herbert West: Reanimator = perfect.
If it is possible for any horror band to be better than Creature Feature, it is Rufus Rex.
Funny, because Rufus Rex is a member of Creature Feature. So I guess no band is better than Creature Feature.
***** Exactly
Mary LePage Actually, Rufus Rex was a side project Creature Feature did! Rufus Rex is really just Curtis, and all those background instruments are just Erik's fucking majestic keyboard.
Iamreallyapotato Oh, I knew it was by Curtis. I didn't know that the other instruments were just Erik though. That's awesome XD
I would love to be one of the gentlemen picked for such a waltz!
I am a female, may I have this dance?
@@starrrzzz2905 💀
You just gave me an idea to have this song at my wedding. :) to which my (soon to be) husband and i waltz to it. :)

I wish someone would make a book or a film of Jesus as a necromancer

I've seen enough horror to answer that: He'll train a successor to contniue his work long after his death
Bought the album, it was worth every penny! This is a cause that must be supported!
Absolutely amazing! I particularly like the line "No need for Eulogies, Hymns never sung".
Beautiful!! 🖤💚🖤 this gives me ideas for stories!
"There's a carrion curse forever haunting our souls
Until the very day we're lowered in a hole."

Watch this first, and then watch Personal Demons. This song is like it's from the perspective of the man who brings a character to life, and Personal demons is like it's from the perspective of the character that was brought to life.
@XRockMusicChannelX Your Rhyme. I love it.
God dammit, I wish Curtis would come to NZ.
Curtis,
Looking at a horse currently, if it works out, I've already decided I'm naming him Lazarus. Came up with the name literally while listening to this song at work :D CF Rufus Rex may very well have named my potential horse.
Ah, a fellow Necromancer... :)
Let's leave it there, shall we?
epic song!
LOVE IT! :D
Someone probably already said this but this kind of sounds like "Secular Haze" by Ghost.
what about on your wedding dressed as an undead bride and your husband as a gentleman zombie
For some reason this music goes perfectly with Serious Sam: the First Encounter :)
Lazarus is however, in his own way, cursed. He can only lay to rest when Jesus bids him to, and since Jesus did not do so before passing on that means Lazarus still lives, no doubt deep beneath the Vatican, until the end times when he may finally be granted the eternal sleep.
I would!!
My new favorite nane
Sounding a bit like Dr. Steel at the beginning there.
But seriously great stuff.
@XRockMusicChannelX It's funny because Curtis has a site in which he posts poems of his making :)
💜
I only disliked because I wanted to be different... GAH! I can't keep that! I love this!

Fellow from the Bible. Jesus raised him from the dead.
This brings the Frankenstein monster to mind, anyone else? o.o Or is it just me?
0:13 - 0:19
My favorite part.
Odd part is: Lazarus is a man from the BIBLE... revived by Jesus... I was singing this in church and the lady next to me looked at me like I was a maniac... '-'
That's why they called the guy Lazarus in the song. It was in reference to that story

@TheInsaneWatchmaker Yeah, I didn't know about that until I was watching Casper and they mentioned Lazarus as well, and I was like "Okay, so who is this guy?" And my mom told me about him.
@FantasyAdventuress Now if only I could waltz...
Ok kind of unrelated but I'm buying a electric fender guitar next month (fender the type Curtis plays I think) does anyone know we're to buy a used one in good condition?
+Homestuck Fangirl I would try your local music stores first, or google related instrument stores near your area.

@FantasyAdventuress And am I the only guy here who would love to waltz (With the lady of his choice) to this song?
Birth, Growth, Knowledge, Life, Insanity, Death. Hahahhahhahhaahahaahahhaa the great sultary orchestra of life.
Reminds me of daron from SOAD
Is it accordion on the beggining of the song?
Oh my, this song is purrfect
To be honest at first I was like "nah, this song is not that good". But it's kinda catchy so I started to listening to this song over and over again and here I am, melting and screaming "Rise, Lazarus" with passion xD
I guess it's because some songs are really fancy and you have to listen carefully etc ^^
@C3lticlord Sorry, but there would be WAY too much controversy. But it would be awesome.
damn, it should be sin sounding this good >.
Necromancy ftw!
I think not. But, there might not be many out there for us... different ladies! [Insert maniacal laughter here]

You know what to do should he pass...

Lol my cousin's name actually IS Lazarus and she's almost died over 12 times, literally!
