Thief is great if you can play the IRL people at the table against eachother. On multiple occasions I've had the Erie put special effort in getting tea kettles _just for me_ **exclusively** so I could rob and pilfer the Marquise De Cat even more efficiently.
My impression of the Vagabond is that his mantra is GoT Littlefinger's quote "Chaos isn't a pit, chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them." Hahahaha. :)
I played my first 4player game of root as the cats. i felt the racoon makes the game hard for whoever he targets and easier for who he allies sll the while he benefits from both of these relationships
I just won as Vagabond last night and used most of your tips, great vid!!! Give a try to the digital version, is the best thing to play during these time
As the Vagrant, you usually have to be hostile with at least two factions. You recommend sending people to attack the Woodland Alliance to screw them over. However, the Eyrie and Marquise have so many more warriors to remove that could be used for Infamy points. Do you think it makes sense for the Vagrant to go hostile with all three factions, or would that make it too hard to move around the map? Which 2 factions do you recommend going hostile with, generally?
GetOutOfHereStalkan usually you will want to go hostile with high unit count factions. But aiding the weaker faction at the time is always wise because usually giving them cards won’t hinder you too much. Play it by ear but I would say Marquise and Lizards and Eyrie are great to be hostile with. However the opportunity to screw the alliance over is pretty great so look out for those opportunities as they can burst in score quickly. Don’t become hostile with everyone cause yes movement is tricky. There are only so many boots! I am excited for the new vagabonds releasing because one has a movement ability. We’ll see that that plays out!
I look forward to more Root strategy videos when you have played the other vagabonds, Moles and Crows. Also hope you get Fort and Boardgametable games in the future. Thank you, glad I am subscribed!
So many times, our Tinker nuked the woodland by playing favors over and over. We got to where picking the Tinker was just asking to get attacked every single turn
Its a great game design. The only flaw is, that no one gets equal amounts of turns. If the starting player reaches 30 points, its over even if other players would have reached a higher VP sum in that round.
A fix: when one player reaches 30 or more, the game goes on "Armageddon". Each player except them gets a single turn to try and turn the tides of battle. If no one can surpass the winner, then they win. If someone does, the Armageddon turn is repeated until the winner stays on top from the end of his turn to the start of the next.
We had a game where i played tinker and i had 3 hammers i was enemies with all players and used one of the favor cards for 3 hammers and killed 12 units and 6 buildings and won with that. But the question is do i get ponts for killing the units and 2 points for killing the buildings or do i just get 1 point for each building i cleared? ^^ And if the other players are on neutral and i use one of those cards do i even kill someone? and if i do do i then also get ponts or only if they are allready on the enemy listing?
You only get points for buildings and tokens removed, not warriors. even if you are hostile. Hostile VP only comes from Battling with swords. Thanks for commenting :)
If a vagabond clears 3 fox clearing quests would the total point they get from that be 1+1+1 = 3 points gained in total or 1+ 2+ 3 = 6 points gained in total? Me and my friends were debating this when we recently started playing root.
I keep telling him to put up his normal beats and such, but he usually makes singing music. Ill let him know someone is interested. HAHA :) thanks for the comment, and sorry he doesnt have those uploaded

My thoughts on the vagabond: yay the single player game

best overview of leder games . you make a complicated game sound easy
There’s something very Ray Bradbury about covering your entire window with a tv screen

I really liked this serie. It was well made and informative.

It would be 6 points total and the next would make it 10! It ramps up pretty quickly.
Is it just me or is it weird that there is no "minstril" themed vagabond type
A bard would be wonderful.
There are three more vagabonds 😁
Luis Velásquez guide will be releasing on them when I get enough plays in :)
Whats the music you use here, the Tobias link is not the music in the video.
