    They were my first concert. Saw them 1984. They played this one, and Jon Lord had the organ he was playing rocking back and forth so much I was certain it would fall over, but it didn't, and he never missed a note. Amazing show.

    There is a 19_53-version on the first official live album Made In Japan - perhaps the best live album at all - and a summary of the revious three studio album.
    1-2 months ago a mum wrote on a other chanel, why sp pold men love so simple music. Yes this track is speed rock (some say Fireball is the first of this style of music); why I love Dp and Led Zeppelin, the vocalists and the guitars are blues inspired are so diverse in their way of expression, so that Space live is a welcome change.
    All the beat for you and just keep going in so many ways!

    One of my favourite songs from one of my favourite DP albums. Explore more guys. Larry, I'm sure you said in one of the first Deep Purple tracks you guys reacted to, that they were not a big thing for you. I think you just did not hear the right, or enough of their music. What a great band, with a huge discography to discover! I love it when I find new (unknown to me) bands. It is so good searching through their stuff. Have a great Christmas both of you and the family, and anyone who reads this. Oh, and a great New Year when it comes :)

    hi fellas , certain songs for certain moods. i'm headed out to watch a hockey game , this Space Truckin' is a good pre-gamer.
    if the game goes well i'll listen to Truckin' by The Dead , if it doesn't go well i'll listen to Everything Is Cool by John Prine. if it is tied at the end there will be a shoot out. regardless of the outcome i'm playin' 08. Ridin' With Jesse James - Charlie Daniels
    > fiddle , bass drum ----> "For the last six years Jesse James has led this outlaw band
    Pickin' his way on a thoroughbred grey Through the trails of this southern land
    With a gun in his hand" peace.
    edit: "I was walking down the road , man Just lookin' at my shoes When God sent me an angel Just to chase away my blues"

    Great song from a great album - Machine Head. I think it came out about 1972. Other tracks from it worth checking put are Lazy and When A Blind Man Cries - totally different from this as it is a ballad that originally appeared as a b-side but is well worth checking out.
    It came out a couple of years after In Rock that also has great tracks on it such as Flight Of The Rat. Ritchie Blackmore's use of the wah-wah on it is a s good as anything Hendrix every did! Hard Lovin' Man is also well worth checking out.
    They are both great albums and they are the basis of the Made In Japan live album which is still considered to be one of the best live albums ever made🤘😃

    • @ninoorjon
      @ninoorjon 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      of the songs you listed, there is only Lazy on Maid In Japan, Flight Of The Rat was practically never performed live (no record at least), Hard Lovin' Man later took its place on the set list, as did When A Blind Man Cries but you are right - all these songs are really beautiful.

    Machine Head is one of the best metal albums ever. It came out in 1973 and was one of the first albums I bought with my own money. There isn’t a bad song on this album. Glad you both enjoyed it. I enjoyed watching your reaction to this.

    Going back through your channel, you seem to have already done most of their "big" hits -- *except*, oddly enough, "Smoke on the Water", which was one of their two biggest hits -- in the USA, at least. Both "Smoke on the Water" and "Hush" peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
    On the other hand, charts aren't everything. :-) This song, for example, was never even released as a single, much less appeared on any charts, despite having since become an AOR and classic-rock radio staple. "Black Night" went to #2 in the UK, but only made it to #66 in the US. Other singles which charted in the UK, but not in the US, are "Strange Kind of Woman" (#8), "Fireball" (#15), "Never Before" (#35), and "Might Just Take Your Life" (#55). After the "US Mainstream Rock" chart was launched in 1981, they did somewhat better on that chart, with ""Knocking At Your Back Door" reaching #7, "Perfect Strangers" (#12), "Call of the Wild" (#14), "Bad Attitude" (#14), "King of Dreams" (#6), and "Fire in the Basement" (#20). (Personally, I think "Fire" deserved to go higher, since it's more of a hard-rock rocker, but both are excellent. And any comments from the peanut gallery that this album -- "Slaves & Masters" -- wasn't "real" Deep Purple because they had a different vocalist will be cheerfully ignored. 😛)
