I feel for Valakari. He’s obviously a nice and respectful guy. You can tell a lot by one’s touchline behaviour. Especially when times are tough. However, St Johnstone’s managed decline was always inevitable. Their support base has always struggled, relative to area’s population size. It’s why they’re the only top flight club willing to revert to Celtic & Rangers* bigger away allocations.
10,000 and even 6,000 seater stadiums were imposed on every club that qualified for the top flight. This is the legacy. It’s also the legacy of the split.
Perth - population c50,000, include Perthshire and the population is easily over c150,000, they have even won a couple of cups over recent years and THIS is their support. Joke club, joke fanbase.
@@jintsfan so that means they’ve got poor support…how can a club with a tiny budget who did the cup double less than 5 years ago be a joke club? They’ve stayed in the Premiership for over a decade whilst both Dundee clubs have yo-yo’d between the leagues. The club itself and the support are two different things. Get it yet?
@ A football that hasn’t been able to draw support from a region of 150,000 is, by definition, a joke club. A population that won’t back a club, fans that haven’t turned out to support a club that has won trophies in their recent history are by definition, a joke. No charge champ.
More people leave Perth to see Rangers and Celtic than stay to watch St Johnstone.
Which is everything that’s wrong with football. Spineless gloryhunters

Dundee’s memorable January 2025 continues.
Whatever the results, the fixtures are as big as it gets for Dundee, domestically.
St Johnstone should be a good fit in the Championship, they might be there for a while.
Does Scottish football ever sell out?
The Dundee derby sold out 3 days ago.
The old firm. Celtic vs rangers always sells out

All the highest attendances in European football are Scottish
Mate it’s not the time of year to be travelling about with the snow everyone’s trying to recover from the festives

@ 50, FIFTY seasons in the top league. Joke club. Dundee must be over 100, United must be about 70.
