Hi Kate. The older I have gotten, I can look back and see that the things that matter most in life are simple things that we seem to take for granted. I love to see your videos because they remind me to just be grateful for each moment. The simple things like the beauty of God's creation around us that we can enjoy, the seasons changing . A lot of the time, we are too busy to take time for the simple things, and before you know it, they're gone. I like to compare my life to the season's. I've been blest to enjoy the springtime of youth, the summertime of raising a family and the fall time or autumn time of retirement and grandkids. That's where I am now. My daughter likes to remind me at times by saying, Mom , you're not a spring chicken anymore, but you make a mighty fine fall hen. I just smile and tell her, "I'll take it. And we laugh. You really realize how fast life goes by. I love Kate, the fact that you take time to enjoy the simple things and are greatful while you are young. I am proud of you. Oh, so well said and I completely agree. Someone once told me we get, on average, 80 summers in our lives so I guess that goes for ask the other reasons too. That really made me stop for and think because when you think of it that way 80 summers doesn’t seem like that many. But, if you take Kate’s advice and slow down and notice all the small things we so often take for granted and don’t take even notice, the little sounds of nature, the simple sights like leaving turning yellow and red or falling. The beautiful spring flowers that are only with us for a short period of time then you remember just how beautiful this world is. I try and pass this on to my adult children but they seem to be too busy at the moment to “stop and smell the roses” but the roses smell sooooo wonderful!
Wow, awesome photography. Just beautiful. Wellll my area and town cleaning up from Hurricane Milton. We have the best governor ever working hard for us, and so appreciative of all the responders, linemen, etc... trying to get us power and back to normal. But feeling also blessed and grateful, storm was a reminder how fast and quickly our lives can change! ❤❤❤
Our area in Georgia was devastated by the last hurricane. The one that devastated North Carolina. Hurricane Helene I think they named it. Some still didn't have power, because of the damage, when Milton hit Florida. After all this, what a breath of fresh air to see this beautiful video! Thank you!❤😊❤❤
You were just what I needed today. Having 2 hurricanes in 2 weeks is 2 much!! So much anticipatory anxiety, living in Tampa Bay. I'm within an evacuation grid for power so don't normally have lights go out. But the winds, oh my, so very scary! And the amount of debris from my trees, the biggest in 40 years! I had old next door neighbors come stay with me so I had company for a change. The cleanup is very challenging as I'm a widow going on 70. Today, I just broke down and cried. So much to do, but also grateful to still have a roof over my head. My friend blessed my house and that felt good❤
I so wish our mountains of NC still looked lime this. Thank you for letting me know there is hope their beauty will bloom again. Thanks for letting me GWT away for a minute. So blessed you are!

I used to work night shift at Vassar Brothers hospital and going home in the morning in September and October were my favorite times. I would go over the mid Hudson bridge and marvel at the beauty of fall in the early morning sunlight. Henry Hudson must have thought that he found paradise when he came up the river and discovered the area. Any season holds beauty in the Hudson Valley but fall has my heart.❤
Seeing this today was a blessing. I live on the coast of Florida and had to contend with Milton. Fortunately, we sustained no damage at my place, just lots of debris. And oh, the crazy tornadoes everywhere around me. So thankful i was lucky, but people, 10 minutes from me, lost everything. Thank you for all you do and for sharing a little peacefulness
West coast gal here and your beautiful video came right when I was having coffee by my morning fire. The sights, the music and seeing your joy made me tear up a bit. Hello and good morning 🌄 🌅 beautiful lady and handsome Charlie. I just love you both. I'm glad I found your show and subscribed. Your so relaxing gentle soul. I wish I knew how to do photography 📸. I take photos with my cellphone camera. I'm interested in my little town in middle city. It's so growing and different. All the beautiful homes and yards with beautiful trees are being torn down and chopped down. I've been going around my neighborhood and taking photos of the beautiful old homes and big trees before there gone. I was born here and grew up here. And I don't like what they call progress. I'm going to miss all the old businesses. Especially our very old retro nursery garden and old pop bottle shop. Car wash mom and pop resturants . But it is what it is. Very beautiful northern lightsthanks for sharing. We clouded up so it wasn't visible here. The supermoon is coming soon. Hopefully we get to see this. I take photos of the different stages of the moon. They come out pretty good 👍. But your photography is so professional. I love nature's beauty also. My hubby and take ride out a few hours away to where there isn't any city noise and enjoy everything birds animals plants trees water. Where I live in Central California, the Summers are insanely hot. Easily over 100° plus degrees for at least four months straight. I live in an old RV, so I have to just hunker down inside with the AC and a fan blowing full blast! The evenings are magical though. So there is that trade off. It is just now beginning to cool down finally. I will enjoy a small reprieve before the Winter sets in. Each season brings it's challenges and beauty as well. Seeing your videos makes me yearn to move to the Hudson Valley. It's absolutely gorgeous! Your magical videos truly capture the stunning beauty of Autumn. 🍁🌾🍂🌻

Kate thank you for your kind words to those affected by the recent hurricanes in the South. I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina-and although we are surrounded by areas hit with total devastation, my husband and I live in a safe pocket and though we had strong winds and heavy rains and a few trees to fall 😢we stayed protected in our little valley and are fine. I couldn’t help but think of the contrast-as I watched the peaceful sounds of the flowing lake, compared to the force and power those little streams and creek beds turned into in just a short amount of time! Never will I underestimate the power of water in nature and our lives but respect it!

I'm from up there, and my heart is broken. I can hardly recognize anything on the videos I have been watching. I hope all of your friends and family fared well. All of mine up there did, but one friend's mom and sister lost their homes. These videos are so beautiful and calming. I'm glad you're here.

None of our family besides my husband and I live in the mountains. They live in other parts of North Carolina and Georgia. But they are all fine ❤️

Much further south than you and I too saw brilliant pink and green northern lights. I also saw them in May, and with the total solar eclipse in April, it’s been a magical year.
We are nearing peak folliage here in Central Oregon too! And GIRL!!! Every year I get that anxiety in the midst of the stunning beauty of FALL - it's just so fleeting and you know it's not going to last very long at all and I feel like I need to photograph EVERY beautiful tree and spend as much time out in it as possible because YES, you know that long cold winter is coming and that beautiful color will be gone 😭 I was able to capture some amazing shots of the northern lights right out in front of my house back in May with just my iPhone!! I was SO excited too!! I got some seriously bright greens and purples! 🤩🤩🤩 I 100% agree with you about sitting in front of a body of water!! It's a real thing! Negative ions! So good for you! This was a beautiful WARM Fall video! Thank you so much! I love your little lake and your thinking spot too! And yes, so much love and hugs to all the poor people who lost so much in the hurricanes! My friend was one of them, but fortunately she is OK and rebuilding her little life there. 💝
Autumn colors are starting to peak and it is a palette of gold, crimson, yellow and orange here on my forested homestead in Eastern Washington State USA. I too saw The Aurora Borealis for the first time a few days ago. It's been on my bucket list for decades (I'm 71). I cried, I laughed and I howled (ahoo) at seeing the pulsating lights dancing with the stars. It was breathtakingly AWESOME! So grateful! 🤎🧡💛💚💜 PS loved the song choice and the TRAIN!

I've seen the Northern Lights since I was a little girl here in Michigan! They are so beautiful! I haven't been out walking, but the color is getting gorgeous while I'm driving! Michigan is known for all of the beautiful fall colors and the reds this year are (finally) coming out! It should be gorgeous for my birthday (Oct 30!) Here's hoping at least lol!

Hi Kate, OMG! What an incredible surprise!Those Northern Lights were AAH-MAZE-ING! How lovely that the world turned those on, right over your house for you. It was so exciting and such a wondrous display! Then those beautiful scenes of the river and the bridge. The outlook from up where you were is just so gorgeous. How I wish I could experience living somewhere like the Hudson Valley. Somewhere that has all those stunning Fall colours that are so so beautiful and yes, somewhere that snows. Then you also have the wonderful gift of Anne Shirley’s lake of shining water. What a beautiful, serene spot to sit and think or just let your thoughts drift by, like the clouds. I would love to have her as a friend, she is always ready to explore and I love how she encourages others. You actually remind me of her because that’s what you do! We don’t get Fall like you do, here in Australia but luckily our spring has stayed quite cool with only spurts of hot days. I didn't see the Northern Lights but it was visible in parts of GA🌌🌌🌌🌌. The hurricanes didn't destroy my neck of the woods but thers was minimal damage. It was frightening. Then we had a massive Bio hazard fire disaster & we are dealing with plumes if toxic chemicals banking down on us. Eyes, nose, throat are stinging and burning, breathing issues. It's a mess Kate. My God is good and we'll make it through. Today was a pretty day, grateful for that 🍂🍁🧡💛❤

How fortunate that you were able to see the Northern Lights! I have been out so many times up here in Canada - so many friends in my region have seen them, but I haven't seen them once. (I first saw them as a teenager in Norway, walking home from a friends house to my grandparents, and it was scary when this green light started flickering around in the sky! I'd grown up in Jamaica so this was NOT a thing!) Do be very cautious of ticks - they can be most active right when it begins to get cold, in the fall! Always enjoy your videos and yes saw the northern lights. They were amazing. I’ve never seen them pink and maroon like that. I’ve seen them a couple times before when I lived up in Bar Harbor and they were green and blue streaks shooting across the sky I think no matter what color they are Amazing. On more of a downer note I just wanted to give you a heads up that ticks have their hatchings in June and October so keep an eye out because usually you will see a whole bunch of text by the end of October. I hate those little buggers.
My video of the Northern Lights has me doing the same thing as you did... gasps, oh my gosh, shivers, and tears! I hadn't seen them in like 20 years and the display in Maine was magical!! Wow! 💗One of my fondest wishes is to see the Aurora Borealis- we went out to try to find the darkest spot in our area in hopes of seeing it but there was way too much light pollution. A photographer we were standing near had gotten a quick shot with a semi long exposure so we saw that but I still hope to get to see it with my own eyes one day!
I loved this video and transition to fall. Down in Texas it takes till mid November to cool down a bit. Thank you for sharing your beautiful walks and Charlie is adorable sweetness. I am the same way when the vultures and hawks start eyeing my tiny furbabies and we head straight inside. Have a beautiful week.

I love seeing home “the Hudson Valley” in your videos. I’m watching the autumn colors and leaves fall outside my bedroom window as I watch your video. Every year they are magical. The northern lights in New York were an extra gift this week.
Just stumbled upon your channel & I am enjoying your vids very much I must admit my 1st trip to the Catskills was in April 2024….i lodged in Fishkill NY, I actually cut my visit short because the area was not what I had expected, too busy….i just returned home from another visit to the Northern Catskills and this area really filled my soul….my 10 year old Rescue Pup loved it too. The highlight for us was North South Lake Campground Mountain House Remains Overlook. A doable stroll that this senior citizen & senior pup could handle, with magnificent views. Would love to know your mountain top views from this video if you are willing to share. We are definitely going back in the spring I look forward to watching more of your videos of the Catskills…and gratitude…..and beauty…had Cancer & lost my husband, both since January, so really loving these vids

I used to work night shift at Vassar Brothers hospital and going home in the morning in September and October were my favorite times. I would go over the mid Hudson bridge and marvel at the beauty of fall in the early morning sunlight. Henry Hudson must have thought that he found paradise when he came up the river and discovered the area. Any season holds beauty in the Hudson Valley but fall has my heart.❤
Seeing this today was a blessing. I live on the coast of Florida and had to contend with Milton. Fortunately, we sustained no damage at my place, just lots of debris. And oh, the crazy tornadoes everywhere around me. So thankful i was lucky, but people, 10 minutes from me, lost everything. Thank you for all you do and for sharing a little peacefulness
West coast gal here and your beautiful video came right when I was having coffee by my morning fire. The sights, the music and seeing your joy made me tear up a bit. The colors here are also beautiful but I didn’t get to see the northern lights so thank you for sharing…it’s those little adventures that keep us going in this sometimes cruel world…thank u for the shout out to those affected by the hurricanes.

I take photos with my cellphone camera. I'm interested in my little town in middle city. It's so growing and different. All the beautiful homes and yards with beautiful trees are being torn down and chopped down. I've been going around my neighborhood and taking photos of the beautiful old homes and big trees before there gone. I was born here and grew up here. And I don't like what they call progress. I'm going to miss all the old businesses. Especially our very old retro nursery garden and old pop bottle shop. Car wash mom and pop resturants . But it is what it is. Very beautiful northern lightsthanks for sharing. We clouded up so it wasn't visible here. The supermoon is coming soon. Hopefully we get to see this. I take photos of the different stages of the moon. They come out pretty good 👍. But your photography is so professional. I love nature's beauty also. My hubby and take ride out a few hours away to where there isn't any city noise and enjoy everything birds animals plants trees water. Where I live in Central California, the Summers are insanely hot. Easily over 100° plus degrees for at least four months straight. I live in an old RV, so I have to just hunker down inside with the AC and a fan blowing full blast! The evenings are magical though. So there is that trade off. It is just now beginning to cool down finally. I will enjoy a small reprieve before the Winter sets in. Each season brings it's challenges and beauty as well. Seeing your videos makes me yearn to move to the Hudson Valley. It's absolutely gorgeous! Your magical videos truly capture the stunning beauty of Autumn. 🍁🌾🍂🌻

I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina-and although we are surrounded by areas hit with total devastation, my husband and I live in a safe pocket and though we had strong winds and heavy rains and a few trees to fall 😢we stayed protected in our little valley and are fine.
I couldn’t help but think of the contrast-as I watched the peaceful sounds of the flowing lake, compared to the force and power those little streams and creek beds turned into in just a short amount of time! Never will I underestimate the power of water in nature and our lives but respect it!

I'm from up there, and my heart is broken. I can hardly recognize anything on the videos I have been watching. I hope all of your friends and family fared well. All of mine up there did, but one friend's mom and sister lost their homes. These videos are so beautiful and calming. I'm glad you're here.

Much further south than you and I too saw brilliant pink and green northern lights. I also saw them in May, and with the total solar eclipse in April, it’s been a magical year.
We are nearing peak folliage here in Central Oregon too! And GIRL!!! Every year I get that anxiety in the midst of the stunning beauty of FALL - it's just so fleeting and you know it's not going to last very long at all and I feel like I need to photograph EVERY beautiful tree and spend as much time out in it as possible because YES, you know that long cold winter is coming and that beautiful color will be gone 😭
I was able to capture some amazing shots of the northern lights right out in front of my house back in May with just my iPhone!! I was SO excited too!! I got some seriously bright greens and purples! 🤩🤩🤩

Autumn colors are starting to peak and it is a palette of gold, crimson, yellow and orange here on my forested homestead in Eastern Washington State USA. I too saw The Aurora Borealis for the first time a few days ago. It's been on my bucket list for decades (I'm 71). I cried, I laughed and I howled (ahoo) at seeing the pulsating lights dancing with the stars. It was breathtakingly AWESOME! So grateful!

We don’t get Fall like you do, here in Australia but luckily our spring has stayed quite cool with only spurts of hot days. I didn't see the Northern Lights but it was visible in parts of GA🌌🌌🌌🌌. The hurricanes didn't destroy my neck of the woods but thers was minimal damage. It was frightening. Then we had a massive Bio hazard fire disaster & we are dealing with plumes if toxic chemicals banking down on us. Eyes, nose, throat are stinging and burning, breathing issues. It's a mess Kate. My God is good and we'll make it through. Today was a pretty day, grateful for that 🍂🍁🧡💛❤

How fortunate that you were able to see the Northern Lights! I have been out so many times up here in Canada - so many friends in my region have seen them, but I haven't seen them once. (I first saw them as a teenager in Norway, walking home from a friends house to my grandparents, and it was scary when this green light started flickering around in the sky! I'd grown up in Jamaica so this was NOT a thing!) Do be very cautious of ticks - they can be most active right when it begins to get cold, in the fall! Always enjoy your videos and yes saw the northern lights. They were amazing. I’ve never seen them pink and maroon like that. I’ve seen them a couple times before when I lived up in Bar Harbor and they were green and blue streaks shooting across the sky I think no matter what color they are Amazing. On more of a downer note I just wanted to give you a heads up that ticks have their hatchings in June and October so keep an eye out because usually you will see a whole bunch of text by the end of October. I hate those little buggers.

Wow! 💗One of my fondest wishes is to see the Aurora Borealis- we went out to try to find the darkest spot in our area in hopes of seeing it but there was way too much light pollution. A photographer we were standing near had gotten a quick shot with a semi long exposure so we saw that but I still hope to get to see it with my own eyes one day!
I loved this video and transition to fall. Down in Texas it takes till mid November to cool down a bit. Thank you for sharing your beautiful walks and Charlie is adorable sweetness. I am the same way when the vultures and hawks start eyeing my tiny furbabies and we head straight inside. Have a beautiful week.

Just stumbled upon your channel & I am enjoying your vids very much I must admit my 1st trip to the Catskills was in April 2024….i lodged in Fishkill NY, I actually cut my visit short because the area was not what I had expected, too busy….i just returned home from another visit to the Northern Catskills and this area really filled my soul….my 10 year old Rescue Pup loved it too. The highlight for us was North South Lake Campground Mountain House Remains Overlook. A doable stroll that this senior citizen & senior pup could handle, with magnificent views. Would love to know your mountain top views from this video if you are willing to share. We are definitely going back in the spring I look forward to watching more of your videos of the Catskills…and gratitude…..and beauty…had Cancer & lost my husband, both since January, so really loving these vids
