Hello, friends! I've been stuck inside the cottage a lot the last few weeks due to some crazy weather here in the Hudson Valley area of upstate NY. Sooooo, I decided to do some redecorating in a few spots in the cottage as well as do some decluttering. I added some extra boho flair to the bedroom!

I am almost 66yo. You have inspired me to change my theme in my house to Boho. I've always been somewhat of a hippie, I also worked with the Navajos for a few years and collected rugs and pottery. I tried modern for a few years but am done with it. So, first step, new curtains with color!!!! I keep watching your vids for ideas. You're a natural.
I would incorporate Bohemian thrift finds with your Navajo rugs and pottery. Have fun transforming your home to boho! 😉

Southeast PA has been dealing with the same weather and smoke issues. One more very hot day this week and then some refreshing days. I have a little cottage in the woods and that's where I'm headed❤Thank you for this calming video!

During last winter after I had lost my husband I had a big clear out which kept me busy now I'm accumulating things again but telling myself I really need them ! I love to see Charlie out on a walk he always looks so busy and important 😁🥰

I love the bedspread on the wall behind your bed, it sort of has a tapestry look to it. I always love to see Charlie he is so cute. I was 10 years old at the time of the Woodstock concert, my older brother's wanted to go so bad, they actually started a band and they were very good but just played locally. I hope your weather gets better so you can enjoy the rest of the summer. I always look forward to Friday when you video comes out. I put mine up on Thursday and was just thinking I wonder when Little Boho Cottage will be on. Enjoy the week end.

I’m going to start finding three things a day to remove from my own home. I have a larger house and decluttering and that’s just another motivation for me. I just finished watching your video and was very impressed with how well you did it. I live in Northeast Ohio between Akron and Youngstown. We too are having the occasional day of smoke from Canada and the rain. Although the grass in my yard grows super fast and I have to mow more often, the flowers and trees are beautifully in bloom. I loved the uniqueness of your little cottage. The BOHO style is not for everyone but you pull it off beautifully. The new rug and the blanket for a head board look lovely. I do not decorate in any style but cluttered. LOL. I need to declutter so much. I'm 69 years old and will be getting married next year. My fiance sold his house and moved in with me and I have a mess now. His stuff is in the garage and my things are being squeezed out. I have been working on my home and will be for months to come. I enjoyed your trip to Woodstock just as much as you. I was a teenager at that time in history. I did not get to go to that concert as my parents would have a fit. But a couple of my hippy friends went and loved every moment there. Charley is adorable and makes good company for you. Enjoy your life, you deserve it! Lovely video. The curtain rod on the bedroom wall is genius! Here near Sacramento California we’re suffering from extreme triple-digit heat; today we caught a break and it will only be 93. You’re so right, the hard times make the better times sweeter. I love little Charlie! I’ve never had a dog, but I’m keeping an eye out for one that might work for me in future. He is adorable! Congratulations on selecting items to donate. I have so much purging to do. I am a little overwhelmed. It’s all tucked away in closets, and a shed and a garage, which makes it somehow harder to tackle. I like the idea of a few items a day or a week or a month. Anything to build momentum!
Woodstock is a beautiful and colorful town. It was a mecca for artists in the 60's. That was where they wanted to build a recording studio and they named the 1969 music and art festival Woodstock after that. They planned to raise the money to build the recording studio from the music festival earnings. The festival was held in Bethel NY. And it did not raise the money. It was a success in other ways, though.
There is now a beautiful music venue on the site now, as well as a museum and education center (they have classes for children and adults) called Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center. It's a beautiful place to visit. I used to live over the hill from there. Still in the area and I love being involved in volunteering, attending concerts, and walking on their walking trails ❤️
I live in Central Vermont...we got hammered with rain, flooding and so much destruction. So sorry you have also dealt with the flooding and rain. I'm ready for Autumn and Winter. Those popsicles look amazing.

I love those old embroidery pieces, too! You would be very pleasantly surprised, I think, at the efficiency & handiness of rechargeable batteries! I was previously the photo editor of a small daily newspaper & we used them almost exclusively!

I was born and raised by the beautiful great Lakes in Minnesota and would experience Canadian wild fire smoke every summer. Now we are in Florida for a while and last month we experienced a really smoky day. I thought maybe it was a controlled burn to make sure the forests nearby stay clean. No! It was smoke from Canada! My heart has been just broken for our Canadian friends!

You home is so homey! I love it. A tip for Charlie’s bed. I use old pillowcases to cover my pets beds. Helps to keep the beds cleaner.
Hi… actually I have to mention that the Woodstock concert was actually held in Bethel NY… you should check it out one day… there is a museum… and they have an outdoor venue… with music during the warmer months. There is also a large plaque with the names of everyone who played at the concert.
My grandparents used to have a house less than 10 minutes from the concert site in Smallwood NY.
I’ve been to Woodstock ( the town)… a few times… paid my respects to Levon Helm and Rick Danko who are both buried in the cemetery in Woodstock NY. They were members of… The Band 🎵🎶🎵

Charlie is the most ADORABLE dog!!!❤ I recently started to donate much of my collected clutter and wow, has it made a difference. Loved your video as always, Kate! I just wanted to let you know that the town of Woodstock is not the location where the famous Woodstock Music Festival that occurred took place. The Festival took place in Bethel, New York in Sullivan County; in the Southern Catskills (50 miles away from the Village of Woodstock) on Max Yazgur's Farm. The town of Woodstock just carries the same name as the 1969 Music Event. I believe the Festival was actually named after the town of Woodstock, located in Ulster County. The festival was originally expected to take place in Woodstock, New York, but the Town Board there said no. I believe that is why it needed to be moved to another location.
I'm in the Catskills and all the storms and the smokiness are keeping me inside more this year, as well. And I've started to do the same! It's feeling good to lighten up and offer these things for others to be blessed with 👍 love to you and sweet Charlie❤

Good morning from upstate New York, love the changes and have been doing the same. It’s been so hot, humid and so many days of the smoke here too that I decided to do some indoor projects. After two trips of donations to the thrift shop I decided that for every one thing I buy, two have to go, easier said than done but makes me think before buying something new. I love your new rug and Charlie’s too❤. So glad you’re feeling better!
I'm trying to declutter 25 things a week..... maybe you just need to organize a shelf or drawer....then allow yourself the feeling of "enough".... and "I have everything I need". And if you decide you don't need that cute zipper pouch...could you mail it to Texas!?!?

Looks good. I would have left the white curtains at the head of the bed, especially for summer. Looked light and airy and not so dark.

In BC alone, where I live we currently have 378 fires. Our wildfire season started in Spring this year. Currently, in Canada, there are 908 wildfires burning. We see start-ups every day in BC and we are just at the beginning of what used to be "Fire Season", BC's 5th season!
It's just crazy : ( It absolutely blows my mind how much smoke can make it's way down so far away from the fires ...I can only imagine what you all are dealing with up there : ( Sending you the biggest, biggest hugs!!!!!♥♥

For great probiotics drink kefir regularly. It's a super food and delicious when berries are blended in it. You can make it yourself too but it makes a lot so it's difficult to stay on top of drinking it all when you live alone. It is truly one of my favorite things to consume. My 4yo grandson loves it too... especially the raspberry version. Drinking KEFIR daily is one of the best things you can do for your gut and it seems like a treat because it's SCRUMPTIOUS!

I like the get rid of 10 things no matter how insignificant. I need to try it. I’m an avid thrifter and live in a thrifting Mecca.😂 It’s so hard to pass on so many cool things. The only thing that saves me is that I hate clutter.

@littlebohocottage I think my friend actually has videos of Woodstock! And he ended up going into film. Amazingly, many many years before meeting him (when I moved next door to him and his wife) I was at the Findhorn Foundation intentional community in Scotland and saw a video shown there. After meeting him I discovered that he was one of the people who made that film. Such a small world. (And where I moved to was a tiny rural community where I met him!)
