    I live in a 21.5 foot RV and thought I had a very small kitchen! Yours is definitely smaller. I live in mine full time, so I need a few more items. Thanks for showing your space.

    For those of us in an SUV rv or a 10’ trailer for 4 people & a dog…our “kitchen” fits on one chuck box shelf and a thin narrow shelf for utensils, foil, a few cups, etc… behind 3rd row back seat.
    Bowls (especially tight nesting ones like MSR stainless) can fit 6 inside a 2qt or less pot. 6 stainless plates fit inside a 10” sauté pan or a fry pan. I have enjoyed the magma 7 piece set but for small space stoves like yours, I would also recommend the 3 pot set from T-fal Ingenio (stainless) because of removable handles (& cheaper price point). The 3 smallest lids from Belwares (5 piece bowl set with lids and graters) fit on 3 ingenio pots. And flat silicone lids work easily as cooking lids. Then you can prep, cook, serve & store in one pot. But I like to use bowls so put 3 smallest in my kitchen aid salad spinner. The 3 pots can fit inside a KA strainer which nests inside big bowl. So 2 round nesting ‘piles’ for everything 22”-24” wide for whole kitchen. Could easily reduce to one smaller pile for most basic necessities.
    “French nogent super Kim” red can opener is tiny & mighty for everyday long term use.

      What I don’t sacrifice is counter / table surface area for cooking & washing.

    That “dollar store chopper” works GREAT for taking cookies off a hot cookie sheet. 👍

    For super small spaces..I am obsessed with my Sea to Summit collapsable tea kettle, cooking pots, bowls, plates, and coffee filters too!! You can also use the silicone cups in micro and warm liquid too!

    The odd shaped bottom tray you removed is for circulation. Air needs to move around for the fridge to work properly.

    I just thought of something for your meat defroster tray. If you don't want to wash out so much blood and juice leakage, put a puppy pee pad down as a liner

    Your 19 foot RV seems to have more kitchen drawer space than my 28ft Freedom Express. Nice job.

    The fridge needs to have air circulation to work properly, which is why it was likely designed to leave some spaces such as the curved bottom drawer.

    I live in a 40.5 ft. 2024 Destination RV (40CFK2) and by comparison I have a big kitchen with lots of storage. However, I am 5'2" tall and much of the storage is 6' to 10' high and I could never reach it. When I feel confined (although I seldom do) by living in a tiny home, I'll think of you and how you manage. Nice video.

      Every bottom cabinet in every rv or van should be drawers - the best way to maximize small spaces unless you have a shallow adjustable height shelf that fits only 1 item deep.

    Uh oh! That strangely shaped bottom drawer may be to allow the air to move around - very important in a fridge.

    I was watching your video. I am stealing some of your ideas for the fridge. I have a question. Did you try to remove the shelf with the flap to get rid of the flap. I agree with you the flap is a nuisance. It must be Dometics idea of a crisper for veggies!

    • @CouchPotatoCamping
      @CouchPotatoCamping  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We actually didn’t try to remove that shelf since it was the largest shelf in our model of refrigerator.

    Do the plastic bowls etc go in microwave?

    • @CouchPotatoCamping
      @CouchPotatoCamping  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Always a possibility. We suggest placing something in the microwave to help retaining the glass plate inside. RV’s experience a lot of movement going down the road.

    Does anyone have mice problems and are afraid to keep things in drawers etc when camper is not being used?

    • @CouchPotatoCamping
      @CouchPotatoCamping  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rodent intrusion can be and has been an issue for some RVers. We always suggest you remove any and all perishable items from your RV prior to storing it longterm. It is also a good idea to perform a visual check on your RV both topside and underneath to see if any small gaps around plumbing pipes, etc. need to be sealed to assist in keeping the unwanted critters out of your RV.

      I keep a very large plastic tote, with snap on cover, in the camper when it is not being used. Into that tote l put the things from the 3 drawers near my sink. That is the area l would more apt to have "visitors", so those things are safe in plastic until it's time to take off again.

      I drive my Sweet Hubby crazy because I always assist removing everything out of our camper van when we get back home. Yet I can get us set up in less than a hour.😂😅

    You definitely need to get creative when it comes to storing things in a camper lol I need to pick up some pot and pan protectors! I've never heard of Branch Basics I need to check that out. And that is a super weird design for the fridge drawer.

    • @CouchPotatoCamping
      @CouchPotatoCamping  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should! We have used Branch Basics in our home for years. Works so well, and is plant and mineral based. The pot protectors are so easy!

      Kitchen towels, general rags, potholders -- lots of things already on hand can serve here. Also paper plates and bowls -- we used these to separate breakable dishes when moving, and then they provided no-wash dishes options until we found and unpacked the dishwashing stuff.
      When I was learning to crochet I made samples, and those also serve to cushion pots.
