thank you so much for your detailed Review, it was honestly amazing you could hear that you put moderate amount of time getting to know Mana Khemia. I cant wait to see you other Reviews!
As someone who just realized how much he likes the PS2 and started collecting for it your reviews rock. I never got into the PS2 when it was first out. I had a GameCube at that time and still do. Anyways I decided to try the PS2 since it can play PS1 games. I found out by doing so that it's the best PlayStation to be made so far!! I like it so much better than the PS3 and PS4. I can't believe I never picked one of these up back in the day!! Thanks for all the great reviews as a new subscriber these are helping in my decisions on what games to buy.
I wish i saw this review before i tried the game as i might of passed on it and saved some time and frustration. I really wanted to like the game. The spite work is great, i like the premise, most of the characters and the combat was cool but i didn't like the way the synthesis system works and how its tied to the grow book progression system. I kept missing certain items and getting stuck in the grow book so i would have to look up what i missed in a guide and back track then spend ages figuring out how the synthersize stuff that i missed. Probably doubled the amount of time i spent playing the game which ruined the pacing. The platforming sections were just awful too. Im into MMOs so i usually like complex gameplay systems and mechanincs with a lot of depth but this game felt so restrictive and complicated is a way that was just annoying. Unfortunatly i'll probably never bother to finish the game, even though id like to see how the story plays out. Perhaps the Atelier games just aren't for me.
Sometimes I wonder if people just do it on purpose. Like, the game is dubbed in English for Christ sake. Be a *real human,* and parrot back the sounds you hear; as you did as a baby to learn how to speak. It’s not rocket-science. How is this ever an issue?
When Gust games looked better on PS2 than they do on PS3. It's because the sprite-work looks great when compared to low-poly 3D graphics.
I miss old gust!
2D sprites never get old!

Looks like the developers really liked Outlaw Star.
