REMINDS ME WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL....I WOULD RIDE THE SCHOOL BUS HOME AND OUR SCHOOL BUS HAD A RADIO... OUR WONDERFUL BUS DRIVER WOULD PUT THE VOLUME HIGH WHEN THIS SONG WOULD PLAY AND I LOVED IT...WE ALL SANG IT ALL THE WAY HOME .....BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES....BAND ON THE RUN ....
McCartney ages verrry slowly. He is a true inspiration. You can rock till you die of old age. He is still hitting the high notes with his voice too. A living legend.
He's still amazing, I find it so hard to wrap my head around the fact that he's the same guy from 45 years ago, like that's him! ..and he's out there right now doing something. Woah.
3 songs in one and he still nails it. After all he has been through, not many Sirs deserve the title but Sir James Paul McCartney does. Take this as a heartfelt tribute from a dedicated fan of real music.
Paul never disappoints. He is soooo amazing LIVE! I saw him over the summer. I also was at Citi Field last year. This little youtube box doesn't do it justice!!
One of the best songs ever, no one appreciates this sort of tune anymore. So sad, Macca is awesome.... and it is his tune!! not to be sung by anyone else!!
That’s great. Paul have a very good performance and elegance till today. I love the this music “Band on the run”. I need very much to see Paul. I really like Paul. He is always be fantastic.
Little sort of 45 yo song, but what a classic. The kid,s love it in the 'car' on a day out because we are 'Band on the run' and that was 30 years ago !!!
..a top version, brilliant, thankyou for sharing this.. heard nineteen hundred and eighty five on jules Holland, again excellent version, i wonder if there are any more?? 😀 (brilliant band, love the drummer) 🙂
I'm 55 & was never a big McCartney fan, but no complaints either. My interest in this performance is not he or the song, but the big man on the drum kit; Abe Laboriel, Jr. I wasn't aware of him until the summer of 2009 when I saw Clapton & Winwood on tour in Phoenix, AZ. Abe was the drummer & he was an epiphany! You will have to travel far & wide to find one better; maybe old school guys like Neil Peart or Carl Palmer, but among the younger musicians these days, not so much. He's a genius!
couldn´t agree more man... He´s a great musician. You gotta google his name and read about him so you will be more excited about his work... Are you aware of who his father is?
Thanks for the posting. McCartney is amazing for 69. I've posted a music video that I made, "40 years in 3 minutes" which condenses historical events and 8mm film footage into a tightly cut montage to GET BACK and GLASS ONION. Enjoy! (Apologies to the guy/gal who is tired of hearing Bieber's name on TH-cam)
@aristotlehead No problem! I have a 12-string Doublecat myself and I love it, Duesenberg guitars are really fantastic for any kind of musical style. For the Tommy Lee guitar I can only think of McSwain Guitars, probably this is what you were looking for.
Yeah, I knew. I'm writing a book on session players. Lots of interesting stories out there. I figure someone has to tell them all before they are all gone.
@DONHARRISONYOUNG I would've guessed the dude on the right was either Thomas Haden Church or Willem Dafoe with a ton of botox. Turns out his name is Brian Ray.
Hes just smashed Glastonbury tonight, age 80. ❤️❤️
He's 4-5 yrs older. Doing well for a man that age
Band on the Run is totally one of Paul's strongest songs.
And so is Rupert and the Frog Chorus no?

It will be a drag when he dies won't it..
All star performance from a class performer. :-)

Paul sounds rested and is at the top of his form on this very fine performance! And what a great band.
The one and only, the legend, Sir Paul. No one rocks like him
3 songs in one and he still nails it. After all he has been through, not many Sirs deserve the title but Sir James Paul McCartney does. Take this as a heartfelt tribute from a dedicated fan of real music.
Love love love this!! Thank you for all the beautiful songs, Paul. We owe you so much.

A.W.E.S.O.M.E! That's what Music's all about! Love and light to Sir Paul!
Awesome is such a throwaway word.
Grammatically incorrect.
Awe inspiring is more appropriate.
Which ironically it isn't.

This brought me a smile.
Yep, I am having a laugh. It is so hard to tell I am joking because so many young ones out there have no idea at all. Great song, great man.

I saw the tour in 2011 and agree about the drummer. One fantastic drummer and the whole gig was great. He payed for over 3 hours
the guy is 68 years old, and he still sounds great.

Услышав в 1975 г. "Beatles" и "Wings" я был очарован их музыкой. Ничего более выдающегося не было. Fantastic!!!!!!!!!

Awesome!
I've always pictured Sailor Sam as a character from Yellow Submarine.
Still brilliant. The voice may have lost a tiny bit of the tone it used to have, but the guy is turning 70 next year...
Real music
Think of all the trips that man has been on...
Paul...Mc...Cartney...

There will be a time when someone will actually recognise that this man is a genius. Until then we will believe the Ono/Lennon bollocks.

Respond to this video... It's kinda funny, he hasn't changed ties in 50 years...
