- From Hollywood stars and athletes to pioneering pilots and entrepreneurs, there is a lot of history to explore in south suburban Robbins.
Growing up in Robbins during the 70s and early 80s was similar to a black Mayberry. Everyone knew each other and their families, it was safe to ride bikes and play outside. In the early 80s the crack epidemic changed everything for the worse and the town has struggled to recover ever since.
A lot of great people, past and present, were born and raised inthis Town that most Illinoisians do not know exists.

Wow!! N my mother settled here in Robbins back in the 60s moving from all the way from Alabama n I used to live in Robbins it's a very quiet comfortable place to live!!! N it really is very historic!!! Thanks for this video!!

I remember coming to Robbins because I had a spot at the flea market they have there. I couldn’t believe how people lived there the first time I was there. It just seems like a place where people fall in a cycle of poverty.
