On the whole lost-in-translation 'parcel' vs 'package' thing: I used to work at Guitar Center in Nashville. One day an English man came in to check out the guitars. He asked for a lead. "Lead?" I repeated, not understanding. "Yes, lead. Lead. So I can plug in the guitar." "Oh! A cable!" I promptly handed him a guitar cable. He thought I was an idiot, and I thought 'how wonderful, I've learned a new word!'

That's a lotttttttt of book mail. Some of the books I hardly see being discussed on Booktube that I absolutely love and adore:
The Mountains Sing by Nguyen Phan Que Mai.
River Sing Me Home by Eleanor Shearer.
The Art of Hearing Heartbeats by Jan- Philipp Sendker.
The Cat I Never Named by Amra Sabic-El Rayess.
Four Treasures of the Sky by Jenny Tinghui Zhang.
How Beautiful We Were by Imbolo Mbue.
All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir.

The less we read about some places and cultures, the easier it is to believe misconceptions. Hi Jack - I know you're a fan of reading different genres, have you ever tried sci-fi? If not, then I beg you to give the Sun Eater series by Christopher Ruocchio a try. I'm no sci-fi gal and this had me hooked! The prose is exceptional with so many beautiful quotes, and the world building is like no other. It's a Name of the Winds meets Dune kind of book. It's told from a first person POV so it's easy to digest and understand. And the protagonist goes through so much he'll break your heart! Please give it a try!
