Dear @@LivinInSim 👍👌👏 You're absolutely right, Sir. Nevertheless: It still is concrete mixing and not cement mixing! 😁😂 It's a big difference! Hi Alex, I emailed you last year thanking you as your talk on chasing your dreams pushed me to purchase and open my own cafe here in England. With the current situation over here regarding the virus, the business may not survive. As a natural pessimist, I have been working hard to stay positive and your videos still give me that feeling that I can survive so once again I say thank you. I also had two points for yourself. Firstly, I heard you mention in a live chat that you don't do much furniture as you enjoy the knick knacks more. However, I was thinking about your old space, maybe, just for now, you could utilise that space for the more bulkier items like furniture and reopen it as part of your shop. I'm sure with your ever growing youtube followers, and the fantastic job you're doing with the current shop that it will get more interest even though it might not be in the best spot. At least it might help with the bills on that place a little. My other thought is a consideration if you don't get the planning permission for the extension. Is the patio slab big enough to put an old bus/train carriage on. As a kid, I would've loved (and actually I guess I still do) going into old vehicles and experiencing what life was like years ago. With your talent, I know you could create a magnificent space for some more stock to be displayed on board too. I know its not quite what you were after, but as a temporary/moveable structure, you might have a little more luck. Just a thought. I have been watching you now for about two years and I sincerely want to tell you have you make me want to become a better person and I am trying my best to learn from you and how you deal with situations. Good luck from the bottom of my heart to you, Melissa and all the family, you deserve absolutely everything good in life!
@Nicky L Hi Nicky, thank you for your encouraging words. We are in the town centre, not far off the high street in a town in Suffolk. We have been doing deliveries of afternoon teas and antipastis which have been good but the demand is slowing down slighty now even though we have expanded our delivery menu. We were fortunate to have two bank holidays and Father's Day over the last two months so that helped massively. We are just a small little cafe and although we are technically allowed people inside to sit down, we have decided not to for several reasons. Interestingly, most other cafes in the town have also opted to remain as takeaway only. We were currently trying to get hold of our local council in regards to having tables outside the front of the premises on the pavement and finally got a response today that I will start actioning tomorrow. We still have to pay per table and chair but at a much reduced priced. Our street is still very quiet regarding passing footfall and unfortunately, much of our trade was office workers who are yet to return to their offices. We have been told that many won't return until September and even more won't return at all. On the bright side, we were fortunate to receive the small business grant from the government, have a very understanding landlord and were only open three months before we were shut down so can really be quite flexible in what we do. We have reached a lot of new customers during lockdown which is great. At present I feel like we're spending more than we're making but I know that it will take time to figure out who our new customers will be and what they need/want. It's going to be a challenge but I guess we just need to take one day at a time and be reactive of what we learn each and every day. It is a great street to be on and the other business owners have been super welcoming and it's interesting to hear everyone's plans at present. Many of the restaurants have also decided to remain closed so I guess that does indicate what little demand there is in our area. I have my down days, Tuesday being one as we only took £28 all day, but things have improved slightly throughout the week so fingers crossed we can scrape through until such time as we find a new direction that works or office workers start to return to the area. I really appreciate your comments thank you x
I'm happy to see that you took my advice about the patio. You are lucky that the company took out the bad concrete completely so it wouldn't look like a patch job. Dream Forward

My 17 yr. old daughter is pouring concrete this summer to make funds for university. Regular teen jobs are gone, so she's working with the big boys, up at 5am & 10 -12 hr. days in the heat. No problems like this though. Glad they fixed it properly because the level parts didn't look good either.
As I was watching the mistake unfold I was thinking, "That's not right to just redo part of the job, if the wrong mix was used, the whole thing needs to be repoured." So I was relieved when I watched the next segment to see that the concrete company did the right thing. I can't wait to see what you have in store for the patio to add more charm to your already attractive business.
WOW!! You know Alex, I would have wanted the WHOLE slab redone! It will look more uniform. WOW, yes it looks much better now & you have that nice smile on your face!
Dear Mr. Archbold. 👍👌👏 Congrats for another great video! Well done. I always admire very much how you go over difficulties so incredibly fast and well. Hats off! Chapeau! 2) I absolutely love that "energy follows attraction" part = you needed space and money for the ice cream and box and wham... a customer is waiting in front of your gorgeous store even though it is closed for the celebration day! He buys the music box and two big problems are solved! Additionally: another happy customer! Wonderful, simply fantastic! 3) Will you please do me a favour and try to remember a big difference next time? It's definitely not a cement patio or cement blocks. It's concrete, Maaan, CONCRETE! 😁😂 Maybe you simply need something to visualise the right word? Okay, here it comes: Concrete is the stuff mafia guys put your feet in before getting rid of you in a river for instance. If it would only be cement and water, nothing of this movie legend would have happened because it breaks relatively easy. And that's because cement is only one piece of the usual/common concrete recipe (plus sand, water and gravel). Additionally: What you called cement blocks are actually thick concrete tiles respectively pavement concrete slabs/tiles. Thanks in advance for using the correct designations (maybe from now on?). Thanks a lot for making recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck health and wisdom.
Can you just catch a break, please. I am glad that the patio is right now. Love what you wrote in the cement. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this time next year you will be approved and have your extension built. I think they will come to their senses and let you have the store extension.
A few flower tubs and a couple of benches and that could be a nice spot for customers and locals alike to picnic at or just chill out with a cold coke or have a chat with others.
It is good that you can spend the time with your kids, while also teaching them the ways of life along the way. such as if you really want something nice , you will have to work for it. Great, keep the videos coming as I really enjoy them.
Love your Canadian lapel pin. So glad you are doing this for the "children"! 💜💜 Sorry you had the problem, but it's finally done. Yay!! I'm sure you'll have lots if fun with the patio ol this summer t.f and the neighborhood will benefit from your thoughtfulness!!
So thankful they redid the whole thing. My husband works for a cement company and hauls in the dry powder. I'll have to show him that disaster. I was afraid they would only take out the front part. The rest didn't look the greatest either. So happy for you that they tore the whole thing out.
Well that was an emotional journey. Concrete generally doesn't evoke much in the way of feelings - good or bad. I'm so glad they were able to rectify the situation. The concrete guys really put their back into the job. And it was good to see the smile back on your face by the end. Here's to many happy neighbourhood memories hanging out at Curiosity Inc. 🍦🥤🍬
We have many relatives in construction. I bet they would disagree with your statement that concrete doesn't usually evoke much in the way of feelings.😉 We've heard many a story of a concrete pour that caused a great deal of stress, anguish, relief, and/or physical exhaustion...and occasionally an expensive mistake.
Hey, if they won't let you put a building there, next best step is a patio with benches and umbrellas and nice flowers and stuff. lol. Thanks as always for posting
I love the level of professionalism you bring to what you do, yet at the same time being entertaining, Best of luck with all future endeavors, Happy belated Canada day, GoodUp! LIKED, Staysafe

Oh dear Alexander the saga had to continue!! At least the concretes didn’t just patch and attach. It would have looked very odd. Having redone it all it looks great. I can imagine tables and chairs with families sitting there eating ice cream and drinking sofas! Lapping up the suns warmth!! Another great vlog!! Big hugs!
It's lovely to see you are getting part of your dream for this space put in place, good luck and I cannot wait to see it being used to its full potential. Love your positive attitude, it makes my day x
Oh my, Alex, that is unbelievable. I am so happy they removed the whole slab, because you probably would have had problems where the cement with too much calcium met the new concrete. I'm also happy it is finished. I would love to get a passport and come visit, or even fly there. My daughter works for United. Of course, I heard on the news they are laying off 36,000 workers or asking them to take early retirement. Maybe she should consider that since she is 53.
I got tickled when you were talking about how you had to mess up the yard to get the construction accomplished. It wasn't what you said , but I remembered a saying my Grandmother had years ago . She used to say "You cant play tennis without raising a racket"Congrats on getting your patio poured . It looks Great !
A small tip for in front of your store. Just pull those weeds by hand. Then dump in some table salt. They will stop growing. Table salt is used in cracks of sidewalks to stop weed growth instead of constant pulling or using harsh chemicals. I do it at home. Pull the weeds, use salt. Maybe I have to do it twice a year but it helps the house look manicured.
It amazes me to see how well Alex remains so calm during tough situations. I so love the store. Stephen great job detecting. Tho I would rather go find the treasures than sell them ...
It's now July 14th. I hope the concrete is good and cured by the weekend. I see images of kids enjoying ice cream and chalk art contests. Dreams CAN come true! ❤🦄❤

And in winter you can sell hot chocolate, firewood, antique wood stoves and Xmas Trees off that pad.
Nice, happy to see they removed all concrete and replaced. ❤️
You will laugh about this all when things are done. Love your videos.
Wow, so glad it's finally poured. Now you can continue with your plans. Thank you for sharing 🌞🌞🌞
Now what you need are some picnic tables and some big umbrellas for the patio area!
Love the down to earth reality in your videos. Thanks for sharing both the ups and the downs of a life well lived.
Maybe you simply need something to visualise the right word?
"It''s 2020, what could go wrong?"
2020: "Yes."
Famous last words indeed.
Oh Lord that’s like using the q word...please don’t say that question! 🤣🤣🤣
Lol. Reminds me of all the doomsday of 2000. But it's late 2020.
Hi Alex 🖐🏼 the patio should be awesome. I hope it works out for you ‼️👍🙋.
Loved your big smile when showing the end result of the concrete pad, so happy it turned out great after all.
So thankful they redid the whole thing. My husband works for a cement company and hauls in the dry powder. I'll have to show him that disaster. I was afraid they would only take out the front part. The rest didn't look the greatest either. So happy for you that they tore the whole thing out.
Even when you’re down you’re positive. Can’t wait to come to the city for an ice cream and a treasure. Keep your chin up. 😊
Damn...had me at tears with the concrete message. Dream Big. 😭💟
@@rachelh5211 oh I just meant for myself never having needed to use the service. I'm sure your relatives could regale us with many anecdotes.
@@frankiedominguez1872 yes that was a lovely flourish.
So Relieved It All Worked Out. I Always Search For The Silver Lining In All Things. In Every One of Your Video You Always Find That Silver Lining. Well Done My Friend. You Have A Heart of Gold 🙏🙏🙏
The patio looks terrific!. Love your signature. I have missed your updates. Thank you for posting and allowing us to follow along with your adventures!
Big hugs!
Congrats on another step in your Big Dreams!😀😁😊☺
You're such a good soul. I got a little teary when it was all done. I think you might be the poster boy for "do good and good will follow you".
I’m happy to see you got your patio at least , sending prayers
It's lovely to see you are getting part of your dream for this space put in place, good luck and I cannot wait to see it being used to its full potential. Love your positive attitude, it makes my day x
Thankyou for sharing your ups and downs😊🙁
Then ‘ups’ again :)
Glad it got done right. Good lucky!!👍🙂
Always a Ray of Sunshine at Curiosity, Inc.! :D
Finally the concrete is down. Step by step and your dream will become a reality.
I'm so happy for you that the concrete company fixed it and did it quickly.
FINALLY !! Looks great..... Summer Time, With a New Concreat patio ,down and Ready to go Alexander !!! .......
My experience has been that salt over time, damages concrete
Way to hang in there Alex, you are rocking it out now. Whew!
So enjoy you and your family and your life’s journey. It’s really a true story of optimism that we all really need right now. Keep on sharing
Zach is so nice!
