LEGO Minifigures Series 26 Space - Review and Identifying Using QR Codes

- I got very lucky and managed to get the new LEGO Minifigures Series 26 over a week before release date! I look at how you can easily identify what is in the box using an app to scan the QR code. I then take a detailed look at all 12 minifigures in the series. Let me know in the comments below which ones are your favourites.
I'm definitely going to be using the app in the future!

Thank you 😀 I have taken on board some feedback on the loft. I am going to show and discuss a rearrangement in a video hopefully soon. I have still been unsuccessful getting all the parts I need for MILS platting, so may just start putting sets up there to get the ball rolling. I can always MILS them later.

I think it's worth noting, on the Ice Planet gal, the renders show the blue bit of the chainsaw with the stud facing out, and /that/ attaching to the back studs to stow it away.
You're right, I didn't realise this when doing the review. It works, although does not look quite neat enough for my liking.

It’s great when you can find these minifigures early and also when they’ve not been mixed up by other people. I’m personally on the fence about this collection but I’m sure I’ll weaken when they get them at my local Tesco lol.
I was not entirely convinced when first seeing images of them. Once I had a look at the minifigures in person though I was very impressed by the series. Hopefully you'll enjoy them too 😀
Our Tesco stopped selling Lego all together over to much theft 😢.
Thanks for this! I did actually use the Brick search app yest in my local Sainsburys and was a little surprised how well it worked!! They only have series 25 at the moment, but wanted to test how accurate it was. My Morrisons is a few miles away so hoping they have series 26 in!!

These space themed Minifigures are really good and I like the Alien Beetlezoid a lot because insects have their place in the world and also in the universe.
Very true, Lego certainly did a great job on this minifigure as it is so unique.
You're so lucky to find them and make an early review! My favorite figure is Orion, but also like the Space Tourist, Ice Planet and Flying Saucer.
You're right, I could not believe my luck when I actually saw them on the shelf! Great favourite minifigure choices, the Orion looks amazing in person.

Haha I got the heads up about Morrisons, so popped in only 4 packets left, so me and ma boi went on a birthday adventure to another Morrison and well we are now the proud own of a full set and a couple spare.
PS. For the ice planet explore you can attach the chainsaw to the back pack

Never occurred to me before, but the robot chef appears to have mashed potato in their pan... are they a tribute to the Smash robots from the 1970's UK TV adverts?
Interesting thought! You never know, maybe someone at Lego was inspired by them.

Legs are very similar to the original lost on space robots.. the bubble head as well..
The toros seems to be gerneric.. thought the back reminded of a old 80s toy Teddy Ruxpin..

Yes!!! 😂 I miss it, colour had a good "pop" and reminds me of my childhood playing with Ice Planet Lego.
the spacewalk naut has had that pack build before. but Waaaaaay back in the 90's but this one is nicer.
Interesting, an underused concept by Lego then. First time I'm seeing anything like it.
Damn... my local Morrisons is hopeless, very hit and miss to whether they stock the minifigures at all... that said, i'll have to have a look later on.

Thank you! The only other series it works on is the majority of series 25 (some of the earlier ones sold had a smaller QR code that will not work).

Is this only in Europe or do the QR codes also work in the US? Series 25 QR were hard to find even in the prepackaged box of six
From what I have heard the North America data is now uploaded to the app too, so it should work. Most of series 25 work with the app too, except for the earliest batch which had the older style smaller QR code.
I used Cortex Scan in the US and it gave me all the codes
How long should I wait for mini figures to go down in price and stabilize? I want to get a few without the blind box mechanic.
They tend not to really go down in value. They will be phased out at the end of August 2024 if they have not run out of stock, may be the occasional discount then. I think it is best not to wait to avoid disappointment.
so which one will have the most value/Price? Like the vampire knight or the guy with the sheep in minifigures 25?
No clear cut one this time. I think the one with the space baby will do quite while. Then the Blacktron, M-Tron and Ice Planet ones will be popular with a lot of Lego fans. The alien beetlezoid may do quite well too for army building.
What app did you use? Any qr reader would work?
I used the bricksearch app. A normal QR reader would just give you the code, which you would then have to compare to a list. It's what I did in this video th-cam.com/video/kTmXMh4sz7E/w-d-xo.html for series 25 before these specialised Lego apps were updated to make it easier, showing a picture of what is inside.
Gosh I hope my Morrisons sells them still otherwise we go a long journey

The silver aerial piece does detach from the hairpiece 👍 A spare aerial is also included in the box.

Seems like the European/overseas stores are getting these before the U.S. ones are.
Some of these stores are being a bit careless, putting them out before the 1st May release date. I'm certainly not complaining 😄
Which is better the Orion or the ufo figure?
I prefer the Orion one, but it is really down to personal taste.
I guess it only works in the UK. Walmart in Las Vegas,NV has two cases full! Didnt buy any because the app wouldnt scan.
How long ago was it since you tried? From what I have heard the North America data is now uploaded to the app too, so should work now. I have found if the phone internet signal is weak the app does not load the ID, and just lists the item as the overall minifigure series. Something to think consider when out and about. Hope it ends up working for you and you get the minifigures you want 😀

Totally! I was shocked to see that had happened in one store before. There will be no excuse to do that now with the app method.

No, unfortunately it doesn't. They were the older style codes on that series.

Maybe this will stop people from ripping them open. I can see shops abusing this and taking all the good ones out of cases they sell.
The same system was in place for the majority of series 25. I generally think once the launch buzz died down it was not too hard to get the ones you wanted. It was kind of the same before with the bags where you could feel inside, although this method is much easier.
Does the app work on series 25?
Yes it usually does 👍 There were 2 sizes of QR code in series 25, with the older smaller ones not working. The newer QR codes were introduced early on in series 25, so most boxes should now work with the app.
Does the same QR code work in the US barcode?
The QR codes are different in the US, but apparently the app has been updated to read US region codes too.

I am not sure how much trouble Morrisons will get into with Lego over this. Seems to be a lot of stores across the UK have made this mistake.

That's a shame, I assume you found some in North America for sale early? Another person on here commented saying omgbricks app is another option to try and identify them.

What the f is wrong with you all,let's just tell the company to say who's in the box,id buy them if I knew what I was buying.this is lego ripping people off
Lego have made them "blind bag" ever since the first minifigure series. They have said they want to keep that going so people that enjoy getting a surprise can do so. At least there is a quick and easy option to find the ones you want now. Just need to spread the word so everyone that wants to do it actually knows about it.
@@construction_wolf unless you are someone who is opposed to cell phones.i love lego but refuse to become a phone slave,and feel extremely resentful to lego and all other companies forcing me to need a cell phone to do anything.in the near future when russia or China use a sonic device on us to knock out our E.M spectrum what are all you hooked on tech everything in life is on my phone fools going to do without power.it makes me sick ,you use that phone like a mentally challenged child uses its parent. You can't even find basic directions without it.this lego thing is a slap in the face,it's stupid .how many other lego fans do you want to lose.
Not good serie, mistake new colour of classic spaceman. This serie look like the LEGO movie serie. I am sad, but happy. Dont spend money
