I love this song and you guys did a great job. This song has deep meaning for me. A few days after I watched this film with my mum, I had a sudden cardiac arrest lasting 37 mins and was very ill. Doctors said they didn’t know how I was alive and they said I’d be brain damaged. My mum, who never left my bedside throughout my coma (which I could hear everything by the way) played the album pretty much all the time. She sung ‘this is me’ because it was my favourite song from the track, being disabled myself. While she was singing, I opened my eyes for a brief time and the doctors were amazed. They decided to send me for another scan and found brain activity. I don’t have severe cognitive brain damage thank god, and although I’m now a full time wheelchair user, I’m happier than I’ve ever been. Sometimes, when I’m having a bad day about being disabled, I listen to this song again. Your version is so beautiful, you made my day.

When I heard this song in theatres, I cried and had chills throughout the entire movie. Despite listening to the soundtrack a thousand times since then, this is the first time I've felt like I did back then. This song means so much to me, I've been dealing with anxiety and depression in addition to people at school being not so nice about my autism, so to hear this song performed in such a raw way only emphasizes its messages of being proud of who you are no matter what others think
