Since I really hate what Star Trek turned into in 2009 onward, i never watched any of it at all. Well, I recently found out that Picard Season 3 was amazing and a proper send off for The Next Generation, so I finally decided to buy the Bluray. To my shock, it really was amazing. Well, I was kind of familiar with Picard Season 1 by watching a few TH-cam reviews back in the day that ripped it apart. When Season 3 included the death of Picard and his awakening into a synthetic body, I knew that I needed to at least know the plot of Season 1 better. Enter your great video! Thank you.😊 I was not going to buy Season 1 because it is still something that is generally hated by old fans like me, but at least now I have the story down just to make Season 3's bits of connection feel better. P.S. I hate the F-bombs and GDs in Star Trek. Taking God's name in vain was only done a couple of times by Kirk and McCoy in their original movies, which I always felt was unneccessary and always find it cringe-worthy. Sadly, Season 3 of Picard is rife with it and thus the one thing I truly hate about an otherwise great season. It feels so forced and is entirely un-needed, as if the idiot studio implements a "so many per episode" mandate. Such a shame that entertainment has lowered itself so much. It started with Discovery and Picard Season 1.

Did they get Data's Posotronic node from B4? Because when The Scimitar blew up in Bassin Rift, Data was right by the Thayleon generator.. wouldn't be much of anything to salvage...
They did the following TNG cast dirty by not featuring them: - Wil Wheaton. - Dr Beverley Crusher. - the blind guy with the visor. - Worf. - Q. They did Data especially dirty by forcing him to die yet again (but will revive him as yet another plot device when it suits them).

the main problem i had with this show? it was not episodic. i could not get into it being one long drawn out movie. what i loved about tng, voyager and deep space was something new happening every week. i came back to watch this recap as i did not get further than episode 5. knowing that Whoopi is in season 2 makes me want to at least give it a try. though even that is increasingly difficult for me. i grew up watching tng and Guinan was one of my favourite characters. Whoopi today is very close to being a racist, she is a hypocrite and lies day after day to fit her own agendas.
Jean Luc was kinda like a surrogate father figure to child me, so Guinan being his mentor was always awesome. No iea what Whoopi is saying these days IRL, but season 2 is just as convoluted as season 1, but season 3 so far is genuinely good! I was so suprised! XD
I have binged watched Season 1 and I want to tell you the writing sucks!! Did not keep my attention at all. Very boring. And I watched the TNG. EVERY SINGLE EPISODE FROM THE BEGINNING!! I could do without the language. This just isnt my TNG to be honest with you. It's like they want to be "cutting edge" now but definitely missed the mark!! You dont need to cuss and write boring scripts that dont hold peoples attention to try and be "CUTTING EDGE" out of 10 stars I would give season 1 a solid 4 stars.
I think you missed the point. Sir Patrick Stewart had a hand in the ideas of season 1, and the show was not intended to be a sequel to TNG. It just has the same guy.

It is a continuation of TNG because it ties up loop holes like Data and Q with the last episode of TNG "All Good Things" So to say it isn't AGAIN.... doesn't make sense. I'm not trying to argue or anything. I'm just old school and this was mediocre to ok. The last season was definitely the best.

Season 1 was good and worth a watch IMO. It's rare for me to find a good show without all the garbage though.
