I've been a fan of Wong Fu Productions for many years now, so it was surreal to come full circle and have him as a guest on my show. Philip is one of the pioneers of TH-cam and has always taken every opportunity to unite the Asian American community. In this episode, we talk about how TH-cam has changed over the years, what Asian representation means to him, and choosing love over career. Thank you so much for coming on the show, Phil!

I like how Steven always makes sure to get a meal out of his shows.
Me too, I never paid attention to any other Buzzfeed shows or people besides Unsolved before, but now I really think Steven is the MVP of Watcher (at least on the visible side). Not only does he really come up with meaningful shows that anyone can resonate with, he also studied his ass off to learn how to get sponsorship for Watcher. There's a lot I can respect about Steven Lim

i cannot emphasize how grateful i am that y'all take the time to put subtitles on everything. as someone who just has difficulty processing a lot of speech and having to watch the same thing a million times to even understand it, i'm just really happy i can enjoy this amazing content.

I have dyslexia that particularly affects my ability to understand spoken language (yes that is a thing) so having subtitles always helps me follow along, so happy that Watcher has them!

I really like this style of content with Steven like he’s having these thoughtful conversations in a setting that almost feels like it doesn’t match the tone but in a way that still feels right idk but keep it up :)

Steven has always been a good content creator, but it has been an honest joy to watch him grow as a person as he releases new content

luvanmllz44 For following recipes that would be amazing, but for egg and tomato, there are no measurements. In true Chinese traditional cooking, your tastebuds are the measuring spoon. That and some good old hand-me-down tricks: for example, scramble the eggs first, cook, and put them back into the bowl you mixed them up in. You’re going to cook them again with the tomatoes (which should go until tender and having released some water) so don’t worry about salmonella. My mom taught me this trick and as well as not wasting any egg, keeps you from overcooking it.

This is such a genius concept for an interview series!! I’m loving the chill/casual feel it has, it couldn’t be more different than spooky small talk but it’s equally as entertaining 💕
One of my earliest memories of watching TH-cam was watching Wong Fu, probably when I was watching Nigahiga. The work they created on their channel would always blow me away. Even though I'm black and I watched them when I was an early teen, I knew what underrepresentation looked like. I found it so refreshing to watch them produce and create such beautiful content, with people and stories that are not shown on mainstream media. Philip became a huge inspiration for why I wanted to become a filmmaker.
Not gonna lie but I’ve read the title of this show three times and each time my brain reads it as “Being Asian on the run”
That just does not work well in America - outside of a few areas we stick out. Cops would track us down right away.
I once went to a bar, didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Came back a month later and they recognized me. That's how much we stuck out when not in California.
I love how wholesome Steven is. Really great show. I can’t wait for the next one.
Each show balances the other shows with such accuracy. The chaos of Shane and Ryan and then the tranquility of Steven's food. Perfection.

Great job, and thanks for yanking open some windows in my little house and making my world that much bigger. I don't think there has been one dull moment of any of Watcher segments so far. I look forward to all the things your channel is putting out. The only thing I can think of, as a complaint, is I want more more more!!! My son and I love this channel and sometimes it is so hard for me to wait until he is out of school to watch.
i love this episode. it's great to see you on a grocery run then to go to people's houses and cook and eat the food. the interview throughout the episode seemed so effortless and we get to see both of your personalities shine. can't wait for more episode on this series. great job steven.

I’m on my journey of working my way from the oldest stuff Ryan and Shane have made and as I make my way into watcher I’m also loving everything that Steven makes. I love these guys more the more I get to see the thought process behind each thing they make. Getting to know them has been beautiful. It really brings a whole new appreciation to this “TH-cam” thing. Sorry to be intense but my heart is beating out of my chest as I watch everything you guys put out. Watching the journey has been that exciting and moving to me.
Although I live in tropical country, but there's more than 2 season here, beside rainy season and summer, theres Durian's season (the seasons we always waiting for), Rambutan's Season, Mango's season, mangosteen season and many more exotic fruits seasons.. :D
I love how Steven's content is about food which is really the bread and butter of his content. It's just a beautiful way of connecting with people and getting to know one another. Looking forward to the rest of his journey with Watcher!
